Easily one of the best outings in Cincinnati. We have a member pass, so we usually spend 1-2 hours, but could easily make a day of it. Lots to see, and learn. Very clean, plenty of food options. Love coming on rainy days to beat the crowd. Gets very busy on weekends - but once in the park never feels too crowded.

Absolutely love this Zoo!! This was my boyfriend's first time going to the Cincy Zoo. It's always cool to see different animals that you haven't seen before. We'll definitely be back because there was so much we didn't see.

I had a membership for years and am so glad to have this zoo so close by. Wonderful exhibits and its clear that the people that work with all the animals care deeply for them.
Plenty of choices for refreshments and keepsakes. There are hometown favorites like Skyline but there is also a sit down cafe for tired feet. There are expensive things in the gift shop (like expensive art pieces) but there are also reasonably prices things like water bottles, in case you forget one!
I love to go on cool, rainy days when less people seem to go. It can be overwhelming to try and see every thing on one trip, which is why i love having a membership.

We love the Cincinnati Zoo we buy a zoo pass every year. The discounts that you receive with your pass well worth it my family and I go once a week to visit the zoo a lot of nice interactions with the animals the staff he's very friendly and the new animal show over in the petting zoo was wonderful they called up the audience to help them with different skits and even gave them a complimentary gift card Chick-fil-A thank you for making this experience wonderful for my family making memories that will last forever

Great zoo. Very large. All the staff is very friendly. We ate at the cafe and it was very good. Our favorite exhibit was the cat canyon. All the animals were active and the kids had an absolute blast in that exhibit.
It was fairly bust when we went, it was a Saturday so it was to be expected but the zoo was very well maintained as far as cleanliness.
We're so glad we bout membership passes. Definitely recommend checking it out! Its worth it!

I spent 4 hours here one day and I still didn't see everything. It's worth a second trip back, no question. Check out their dark building with all the nocturnal animals, it's awesome. The parking is across the street, but they do have a pedestrian bridge so you don't have to deal with traffic

Horrible experience for my family. Why not just charge $5 dollars to get in. Overcharged my family of 4. Drove a hour to get to this amazing zoo that everyone is talking about and majority of everything was closed. Animals were no where to be found. My kids seen a total of four animals. With me having to explain why they couldn t see certain animals. On top of all that every time I purchased water I got asked am I a member? No..This zoo didn t win me over.

Even with the restrictions in place the visit was great. Masks are not required, but recommended. Food areas are not open so we just ate an Icee and pretzel which was delicious. There are lots of hand sanitizing and washing stations. Some enclosed areas are not open but the insect house was and the reptile house was. My 14 and 15 yr old boys had a great time.

I don't normally like the concept of zoos, but I have to honestly say that the Cincinnati Zoo totally changed my attitude! Everyone working at this Zoo is all about conservation and saving all of the species of animals who live on our planet. Such knowledgeable staff and informative signage throughout the entire zoo. Some of my favorites: Fiona (of course), the Cheetah program (a must see!), the giraffes, and (surprisingly) the leaf-cutter ants in the insect house. I am very much looking forward to returning when the Kangaroos arrive in 2020!!

This is one of the nicest zoos I've been to. They make great use of natural terrain and artificial boundaries to make it look a lot bigger than it really is.
I grew up in the Cincinnati area and have been going to the zoo for about 50 years now...it's changed quite a bit in that time, but it has some great exhibits and really good programs for education and breeding endangered animals.
My family are members and we go about once a month. We like to take our time, pick out a handful of animals to see each trip, and spend some time watching them, their behavior, and talking with the kids about why they may act certain ways or have different colors.
The zoo has handlers that go around to different buildings or areas of the zoo and show small animals to the guests and answer questions about them. My daughter likes seeing all the different kinds of snakes and comparing how ones that live in a desert may have scales that feel different from ones that live near water.

Best zoo in the country. Lots of updates to areas of the zoo. Very clean and well maintained. The people that take care of the animals are first class all the way around. Larger exhibits are coming in the near future.

Very disappointed!!! Bought a 209 dollar membership and learned that most of the beautiful, interactive exhibits were closed. We were here 11 years ago and traveled to see the beautiful zoo we once knew, was no longer.

Absolute fun....so many animals, birds, insects and reptiles..one day felt short. Train and carousel rides was short. They can increase the duration in my opinion. Ample parking space if you reach early. Lots of places to eat. Kids loved the zoo.

Always a great time. Animals were active and seemed healthy and happy. It is clean and they are always improving exhibits you didn't realize could be better. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Festival of Lights was gorgeous as always! Well staffed, Mad Cap Puppet show was GREAT, we loved the 4D theater, enjoyed seeing the animals that were out, and Santa was great with the kids! I don't love that they went for Disney songs instead of Christmas songs for the swan lake lights, and I'm not entirely sure why the train ran quite as slow as it did--so much slower than normal! Still, our family loved it and will be back again. Get there early-- theres so much to do you can't do it all in a night!

First off, if you live within driving distance to this zoo, YOU ARE SPOILED. Whether you know it or not this is one of the greatest zoo's around. I've been all over the world and all over the nation to countless zoo's. This one is in my top 5 for certain. Amazing animal selection, amazing programs and experiences. You can feed some animals. Live encounters. Theaters, shows, and so much more. I've heard people complain "Oh well such and such animal was not on display." So come back. I've been countless times and have seen different animals not on display based on weather or whatever the case may be. That's not a logical complaint. The zoo cannot control the weather. The only zoo any where near here (within in 9 hours) that is comparable in size and diversity is the Columbus Zoo.

Even though it was raining, most of the animals were on display. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. The 4D experience was great too. Also we went on Father's Day so my husband got in free!!

Very nice zoo with a lot of cool animals to see. It is very well designed and it is really friendly for visitors, paths are really easy to follow so getting your way around the zoo is really simple, and there are a couple of places to sit and cool down on hot weather (in addition to some mist machines that help with the temperature too!). We had the opportunity to see a cheetah running at the "Cheetah Encounter" show, which is kind of a unique experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting the zoo.

I feel that during this pandemic tickets should be half price since all indoor exhibits are closed. That was my only complaint. Coming from MI paid 140 total for my family but didn't get the money worth

It was a very enjoyable experience. We were able to see most of the animals even though it was very hot. It was very clean and well maintained and the animals were well cared for. Some exhibits were closed due to covid. The layout of the zoo was a little confusing and we didn't see any hand held maps. I would recommend to others visiting this zoo though. It is a lot of walking so be prepared.

I liked it. It's a well organized and well kept zoo, lots of exhibits, unfortunately I went in the winter (I was told this was better, no crowds and the price is not as steep) and a lot of exhibits were empty since it was too cold, others where being renovated. No working water fountains, the gift shop is rather pricey (good selection tho), I'm not too surprised with this, food also was over priced (only one venue was open) though I did get a decent portion and it was tasty and well presented. The indoor exhibits were great, very educational. Wish I could have seen the elephants and giraffes but oh well, another time. All in all a nice place to go to either alone or w/the family if you go say in the fall when there is more animal activity. Would come back, but on a warmer day...

We LOVE the Cincinnati Zoo!! Even on rainy days we find fun at the zoo. A great place for best friends to make great memories at all ages. One of the best zoo's there are. Would recommend for all ages.

We really enjoyed it, to see many of the a animals that GOD celebrate. JESUS said you must be born again to enter the Kingdom of GOD, John 3:3,are you born again,??JESUS loves you so much.

Very enjoyable. Quite hilly so be warned. Currently (7/2019) many habitats under rehabilitation so some animals not visible. Many food options but you can bring in a cooler. Parking ($10) is mostly covered by solar panels.

It was a beautiful day. Need more accessible ramps and walkways for wheelchairs. Prizes are kinda steep. Gate people were very rude. Wouldn't let you go reserve a wheel chair. Guess that's there policy.

I was face to face, through the glass, with gorillas, manatees, a polar bear, a magnificent male lion, and Fiona the hippopotamus. The grounds are beautiful which is why the zoo is also a botanic garden.we rode a little red train and an endangered animal themed carousel. There are lots of animals, all over this zoo- some over every hillside and around every corner. I even saw the elephants get their daily bath. The insect house is home to naked- mole rats, leaf- cutter ants and humongous cockroaches. I won t tell you my weight on the Insect scale. A flock of flamingos toddled down a path next to us. There were convenient places to get a bite to eat and enjoy a cool drink. We had a wonderful time and learned a few facts about many animals..

I liked the Elephants. But I like to see more color for the Gorillas Indoors Habitat to. See
Yellow or Orange balls . Or something to make them more lively. I came at a reasonable time. Every animal except the Elephants were only active. What did u do to monkey island? I enjoyed that. An your Seals where were those. And for people to eat . Some of the people there would of liked to eat Larosa pizza. Had our hearts set for it. That's my tax money paying for this zoo. An I liked it. But for the little yellow wasp or bees didnt help much.

We are zoo members and love taking our kids, but the crowds and parking at this location have made it less than enjoyable on a few occasions. The exhibits are good, but sometimes seem spread out in a way that makes it hard to see animals up close. The Memphis Zoo is the best that we have seen, but this makes for a good occasional family trip provided the crowds are not crazy busy.

One of the most beautiful zoos I have every been too. My suggestion is to go when all the flowers and trees are in bloom. They have the most beautiful flowers gardens and displays. The animals are very interesting and always out. Early afternoons tends to be nap time. Loved our experience and will continue to come visit in years to come.

I went mostly to see Fiona and was not disappointed. The zoo is great. I suggest you buy Fiona souvenirs by the gift shop right by the food court because I was so surprised that by the time I got to the exit about 10 minutes after closing they were putting everything away and I thought they would stay open a little later. I know people want to go home, but I also know the zoo needs our money we spend on souvenirs! Great zoo, good food, wonderful animals and stunning grounds

The staff was friendly and very helpful with my husband who is disabled and needed a riding scooter brought down to our car. The burger at the cafe was nothing to write home about. The animals were beautiful. We did the Elephant Extravangaza package. The trainers were very informative and truly care about the animals there from what we saw.

Amazing zoo, had a fabulous day here, really enjoyed the polar bears! Lots of enrichment provided for the animals, great 4d Congo show, made me jump a few times! Mini railway ride, more suitable for kids, I paid for early opening day pass, I wasn t given a program at the entrance so unfortunately missed the elephant bath etc, due to lack of knowledge/ information. The zoo is quite up hill so would recommend comfortable footwear, I can imagine it would be hard work pushing peaks or wheelchairs.

This place is our family hang out, aboslutely packed with fun. Plenty of events during anytime of the year. Great staff and services, gift shop or food related. Plenty of knowledge baring employees and trainers to give your little ones the best and most beneficial experience. Make sure to look up their scheduled events to get the most out of this beautiful and adventurous place. THEY OFFER YEARLY PASSES AS WELL. No buying tickets just straight through the gates, best part free parking and sales on all merchandise!!!!

This zoo is great enclosures were nice and set up so you really get to see the animals, the plants and flowers along with statues are also pretty cool. They had a nursing station that was great for my 10 month old daughter and wife and the facility in general was very well kept and staff were good too

It is really cool starting at the parking lot you park your under banks of elevated solar panels. It is like having a shade tree to park under. The volunteers are all over the park so friendly and helpful as well as the full time staff. Got to meet a cool dude named Val. He has worked with the elephants for 27 years. It was a very enjoyable time for me and my wife

We have membership so we go frequently. My children love coming here it doesn't matter how many times we go they enjoy it every time. The animals seem to be well taken care of and the staff is nice and very helpful.

This is a nice zoo. However, many exhibits were closed today due to Corona. If the whole facility were open it might receive 5 stars, but I can't give that based on today's visit alone. I will definitely be back however, and may even purchase a zoo pass in the future depending on cost. Would be a great place to come for taking walks and some light hiking. Very limited interaction with staff today, but those we did encounter were friendly.

Cincinnati Zoo was at it's best in the 20th century. I was disappointed when I recently visited them. It was also dirty and I didn't feel safe because they were not checking temperatures of their guests like Kings Island is. I wouldn't even sit at a table or order food there. The tables were dirty. I did get a drink but that's it. I'm sure most people like the Cincinnati Zoo, but I was disappointed. Its supposed to be one of the top Zoos in the country, and I do not see how that is possible.

They were keeping up with sanitizing as much as possible. After every train ride and all the tables people were eating at. I very much appreciate it, plus the staff is very enthusiastic and informed

This is the most amazing zoo! I love going and seeing all the animals. The zoo babies are always so cute and my favorite time of year. I went with my neices and they love it! They know where everything is better than i do!

So much fun for a day trip and great place for the family!

We love the zoo!! This time of year (fall) is especially fun because the animals are more active. I highly recommend going early in the day. Many of the animals are being fed, which is really fun for the kids to watch.

The new gorilla habitat is excellent and they have also recently moved the bald eagles to a more open, accessible space (formerly where the macaque monkeys were, I believe).

The train is a nice break from the animal action (located near the Africa exhibit). Behind the train station is a playground and petting zoo.

We like to take the outer path, turning left from the entrance and working our way past the gorillas, big cats, down to the carousel, manatees, rhino... Then up the hill past the bears to the train. Africa is typically our last stop (hippos, cheetahs, lions, giraffes), with elephants being our final destination. We have been known to do the exact opposite, but by the end of all that, the gorilla hill seems really big! :-)

Keep up the great work, Cincinnati Zoo!

We were very impressed by the way the zoo is handling being open during the pandemic. They are functioning at half capacity with staggered entrance times to keep crowds down. The employees can be seen cleaning and wiping down surfaces as soon as people vacate tables. There are many signs leading you in one directional areas to keep foot traffic from stacking up. Masks are being worn. It was a nice visit.

Pretty average zoo. Not bad, but could definitely be better. Half the exhibits were closed when I went, so a lot of animals were never seen. The food is overpriced, even for a zoo. There is one big map near the front of the zoo, then you must rely on a confusing smaller map. The animals they do have are kept in moderate shape, and the staff seemed generally happy to assist me. 4/5.

They trat their animals with love and respect. They are passionate about wildlife and plant species, since they display a huge variety of flowers. I was surprised to find out they have bee keepers, as they have those white hive boxes, too. I love this place and try to bring my daughter every chance I get.

Beautiful flowers and gardens everywhere. Zoo guides are knowledgeable. Lots of opportunities to actually get some animals too! (Turtles! ) All in all a fantastic zoo to take your kids and you will be entertained as well!
