Chula Vista Resort Review

I been to the dells plenty of times but never stayed at chula vista..I thought it would be a nice place but I wasn't impressed I would never go back to this..seen some things that just made me urk..staff was not polite very dissapointed..but they did have one water slide that was cool but that it's it..

Always great there. Not too big, not too small. Prices not too crazy. Love it

Awesome vacation spot with the family. The Waterpark is killer. Bummed that the wave pool/margarita bar wasn't open though.

We stayed in room 4119 I believe, and there was tobacco for rolling your own cigarettes in the bureau under the tv. And the directory was in there as well instead of on the coffee table as it was in other rooms.

Not a bad place, very dated. Quiet cause its pretty far from town. All the employees were extremely nice.

SEVEN (7) fire alarms went off from 3am - 7am. Management refused to speak to anyone and instead told people to put their names on a list. NO ONE slept that night. Truly felt sorry for the families with small kids who received no sleep from 3am on. Still waiting on management to contact me and my guests. Not holding my breath anymore.
Scary thing is that after the 3rd alarm, no one in the building even reacted. Thankfully there wasn't ever a fire, but had there been, Chula Vista's would be in a lot of trouble and many lives could have been lost.

Lodging was comfortable and affordable, however we had to request towels for each day of our stay. That should already have wash clothes available upon arrival. Good food and enough activities for kids. The Wilderness Resort is much better!!

Real nice room, fun golf course. Kaminski Steak House compares to Chicago market well. Try it out!

This place is a joke. One of my good friends went there for a weekend and got jumped in the pool area. And there hasn t been any justice yet. The employees also said there are not any cameras in that area so they couldn t even track down the people who jumped them. I would highly recommend to NOT go to this resort. The employees didn t even want to try to find out who did this. They didn t want any part. What if this happens to another family? I thought employees number one job was customer satisfactory....I guess that is a lie when it comes to Chula Vista.

I liked my stay at chula vista but, put private dressing rooms in the girls stall and men to, and give people more directions to find the wave pool and a bigger wave pool.

No bed bugs seen, waterpark was nice as were the rooms.

This place is a total maze, elevators are few and far between along with being sloth like in speed. Beds were not the best either. Water park was very fun and all staff were very polite and helpful.

The condo room we had was amazing; huge, comfortable and very nice. Guest services were very nice and accommodating. No complaints about the hotel side of things at all. Their indoor water park, on the other hand, was only ok at best. It was a little too small for how many people it seems it's meant to accommodate. The concessions were expectedly overpriced but it was freezing as well. Our kids were shivering while they ate. We had to rush lunch considerably. And the service was poor. The water park bathrooms were horrific early on and didn't get much better throughout the day. Seating was also poor but considering the overcrowding, not as bad as it could have been. 5 stars for the hotel, at least for the condo we stayed in. 3 starts for the water park. 4 stars overall.

We just went here because it was cold out and we had free tickets to the indoor water park. The park was nice but so chlorinated that my eyes were burning the whole time. Water coaster was fun!

Resort is nice. We go in winter for their VIP package so the outdoor activities are unavailable. Clean rooms, good food, smaller but still fun indoor waterpark. Sometimes the service at their main restaurant can be iffy but overall the staff is very good.

I would highly suggest the resort do some renovations. The carpet is dirty, there is food (I would hope) crusted onto the carpet, I could pick it off with the toe of my shoe. The couch is uncomfortable, the lounge chair seat cushion is flat which not only looks less than flattering, but is also uncomfortable. The bed pillows are from the Dollar Store. The jacuzzi was installed in a random, odd spot of the condo. I'm not one to complain/review but I would not recommend anyone to stay here unless there were some major updates. The pictures online make the rooms look beautiful. They sure fooled me. Though I'm not impressed with the hotel stay, the water park is fun.

Staff here is wonderful. They will help you with anything you need. Rooms are well maintained. Kids love the water park.

Love it great resort with or without kids! I would recommend the Chop House over the grill though, and the buffet wasn't all that good.

The hotel is old. It's like staying in a hotel in 1992. White things are yellow. Sheets are torn, mattress has people indents, there are florescent lightbulbs above, and a lot of wall lamp lightbulbs are broken or don't work. There's a DVD player, but limited TV channels. The fridge and microwave are small, old, and incredibly loud. On top of the paper-thin walls, the floors and ceilings are squeaky and thin too. If you can get over the old, the hotel works as a place to stay, with a waterpark and nice places to eat and drink. For the price though, I would not stay here again.

Had fun! Not many people there when we went so lines for slides were non-existent. Was a little cold by the doors leading outside, which the lazy river goes by.

On February 2, 2020 I swiped my card for the big ball game which is 17 splashes (we still had 6 minutes left) he knew I was at that game but anyway a guy with a green shirt on That works there shut of my game Off so I didn t get to play. horrible place for children never would go again. If you want a good place go to wilderness

The stay was very pleasant one thing that we like about Chula Vista is that if there is ever an issue they will make it right out of all the places at the Dells this is the place to come it's not the most expensive it's not the largest but it's away from all the chaos and pandemonium and if you have a Riverview you have one of the best views at the Dells I highly recommend staying here this is the only place that we come we may play at other places but this is where we stay and they are making some major improvements over the next couple of years

Hotel was just okay it would have been nice if we'd a had washcloths in the room and then we'll get this big huge bathtub with a shower but the shower doesn't work wasn't my cup of tea

We got a villa house for a bachelor party looked small but the house it's huge and we can sleep 13 it was a little rough but there is a lot of room. We also got passes to the water park which is really fun also. Over all it was fun, but for how much it cost you want to take a few people with you to lower the cost

Their indoor Waterpark was so much fun, everything it had to offer was a blast. Also a very fun outdoor park! Really enjoyed it, would love to go again

Our basement room once able to use was less then impressive. Also the watet park felt like a disappointing after thought to the whole complex. In fact the whole place just seems put together as time and money allowed. For having 4-5 weddings on site the entire complex felt understaffed.

Room was fine but a little beat up. Kids had a blast though.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Only did indoor waterpark for the day d/t the weather. Was decent but needs upkeep in most areas and definetly needed more tubes for the lazy river as we ended up walking most of the time instead of having a tube. Life guards were very attentive and helpful when we lost a pair of glasses when our tube flipped over coming off a slide.

Fun times, condos are huge. The amenities remind me of a motel 6.

Love taking the family here. They have fun slides for the whole family.

Great vacation destination

Great stay for the family, better for the younger kids, as my young teenager is not as enthusiastic about it as my toddler, tween and pre-tween

Janky and overpriced. Our hotel room looked like it came straight out of the 70's. We were here for a wedding and it was held in a tent. The sound system wasn't great either. Highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Rooms are average. Looks like an average RCI resort.

Security is very lacking. Staff allows for gang activity to take place in public spaces.

Myself, wife and children witnessed teenage girl twerking with out her swimming suit bottoms on, in the indoor waterpark, as well as minor cheerleaders here for a convention drinking at the indoor pool tiki bar, which none of the bartenders checked any ids

I guess if you want to dump your kids off at a resort and let them run wild, this is the place for you. Not happy. Will not be returning. There are a hundred other places in the dells that deserve my families money and our businesses income.

I am about 10 seconds away from contacting state and federal law enforcement in regards to the pedophiles that were present attempting to lure random girls down water slides, my own included.

This is not a family orientated facility. It is a sex traffickers wet dream. Dont take your children here. Add in the foreign european workers and youve got yourself a recipe for criminal enterprise

Good food, good drinks, good service. Too bad the outdoor hot tub was closed! Always look forward to that.

Spent the day at the indoor water park. The kids had a good time

Bed was comfortable, water parks were all great. Everything was clean. The grill was awesome too. I would come back here just for the nachos.

Decent accommodations. Came for the indoor water park component for our baby and we're not disappointed.

Got the 2 bedroom condo. It was nice but omg! One of the beds in the 2nd bedroom was sunken in! The comforters were very dated as if i was in motel 6 in the 90's! Yea...that hideous.. The amenities were decent. The only real complaint i have about it is that you have to walk outside to get to the "indoor" waterpark. There is an underground tunnel that connects the condo to the waterpark but not very useful if you're not in one of the condos that are right above it. Plus, it's not along the main strip/walking distance of downtown.

Needs lots of maintenance!!!! Leaky fridge, ice maker was shot, jets were broke in the hot tub, fireplace fan didn't work, light switches in main bathroom were broke... we paid over a $1,000 for 2 nights! I would NOT spend your money here! Oh, I almost forgot that we went to order pizzas from the grill downstairs and the phone was a nonstop busy signal....called the front desk to ask what was going on and they said it was to busy for them to make pizzas to go....WOW! We went down and ordered them at 8:30...the bartender was fantastic and did ALOT of "To Go" orders. Amazing young lady!

This place really saved the day after I escaped a room full of bed bugs at the polynesian. The room was top notch, clean, and modern. The water park was loads of fun for my family, and at a price point that is extremley reasonable:) will absolutely be back!

Everything was pretty average. The water park is pretty nice. There's only one restaurant that delivers to the room and it's not very good. The 4d movie theater was not available when we visited either which was a disappointment. The coffee shop breakfast sandwich may have been the worst thing I've ever had.

I love this place best resort here, great service, great everything. Happy happy happy. Excellent customer service, great views, 4th trip here.

Spent a weekend with my family(3).So room was OK, pretty clean, far away from waterpark and main lobby, but they have shuttle service, which is great. Cause the room was at the first floor neighbors from the second floor were noise...i mean for this price you can easily find better options through rbnb. Waterpark was ok too, but comparing to Kalahary it's nothing, small and boring, changing room was small too. About restaurants inside there, I would not recommend you to go to the first floor restaurant, the food is trash and over-priced, long lines to get seats, bad servise and again food is trash.underline everything I was expecting more.

We had a good time, but this resort didn't do nearly enough to bring us back. We will definitely skip this place next time.
Staff is either not trained or rude. Housekeeping didn't come until we called so no fresh towels, etc. No attention to details-
Pillows were awful and the beds are not very comfortable, in fact one of our mattresses was sunken in the middle. No service when we paid extra for a pool cabana, had to get everything ourselves. It is quiet at night and there were enough lifeguards as a plus.

My family just got back from staying 2 nights in the tower rooms. First off, the room we picked wasn't horrible, but the beds were pretty stiff. My bed at home was more comfy than these and mine is 10+ years old. The water park was actually nice. There lifeguards they have on staff were very intentive to detail with everything. Only downfall with the stay and its not a knock to the resort was we wound up somehow getting a flat tire while driving in, and I didn't notice until the next day. Kilbourn city grill was a great spot for dinner. Our waitress was very nice, price was pretty decent as well.

My family and I have been going here for years,they are very good with customers and care for them.They are not the cheapest place to go, but you money will definitely be worth it.The format of the place is great and the water park is the place to be!!!.

We only went to the Waterpark but it was fun, although some of the attractions seemed to be shutdown while we were there. The staff was friendly also.

Great place to stay, it's tucked away from many of the other water parks. Prices could be better, but rooms are clean and grounds are well kept. If you're into golf, they have a great 18 holes. 15mins from Dells downtown strip, thru a winding hilling road.

Horrible experience! Will never stay there again and it was my first time time in the Dells. First of all they put us in a building where they were doing construction in. Floors looked like they haven't been vacuumed in weeks. The water park was rated in the top 5 for Wisconsin Dells but I found it to be really small and boring. Then to top off are stay they tried to charge me for something I didn't buy at check out!

Had such a great time here. So much to do at the resort pool, water park, zip line, etc... would definitely go back

Rude staff...meh overpriced food...small water park that wasn't fully functioning any day we were there & was so OVER chlorinated my whole family broke out....it snowed and no one shoveled the stairs... Best part was the overpriced fishbowl drink

If I could give a 4.5 I would however I can't in good conscience give a 5 star. I absolutely love the amenities and the resort. However the bed is kind of lacking, we got a king sized bed/room and the mattress is pretty uncomfortable just your basic king spring mattress. If you are coming here just get a queen or spring, no pun intended, for a higher quality room. The amenities make up for what would of been a 3 star if they weren't so good at everything else.

Nice facilities, fun water park with several slides (water coaster not running ), studio nice but beds sub par, condos are VERY NICE, river view is absolutely amazing!

Disappointed is an understatement. Literally the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I arrived with 6 other family members only to find my reservation was apparently cancelled. Staff was very short with me. Could answer my questions. Look at me like I was crazy. They lied and said they spoke with me on the phone after I made my reservation. That never happened. They had no rooms available and wouldn't help us in any way. Luckily, I called the Wilderness Resort and had us in a Gorgeous 3 bedroom condo with 30 min.

Do much fun... Especially in the winter... Everything is inside!

We could hear people yelling, screaming, and laughing from our "condo" in the hallways all night long!!!! I mean until at LEAST 3AM. Not good when you have little ones sleeping in your room, and the people in the hallway tell you to eff off when you ask them to be a little quieter.

I loved that place i want to go again had a wonderful time.

My family of 3 stayed here last year with our friends and had a wonderful experience. This time however we experienced horrible customer service. We requested a ground floor balcony and they could not give that even though it was a noted in our reservation. There was issues with getting our friends on the reservation so they could check in early and we received a lot of push back from the employees we talked to.

Water was cold everywhere except for the lazy river which got shut down while we were there. The kids play area in the middle had half of it shut down. The two seater water coaster was only allowing one rider which made my kids unable to ride as they didn't meet the weight requirement alone.

Excelent place, the rooms are amazing, as a condo, you have all services: kitchen, jacuzzi, 2 rooms, 2 bath's, tv, living, etc., offer slides and pool under roof, it's a great option to visit.

DO NOT STAY HERE THEY HAVE BED BUGS. they will not do anything about it if you tell them and will be very rude to you about it. Seen multiple people come back from there with at LEAST 25 bed bug bites, and bed bugs in their clothes.

Great place to take your kids and family for a few hours of fun. Would recommend going to the water park during the week as the weekend gets really busy.

As an event vendor, Chula Vista seemed very easy to work at. Access to the venue was simple and the event location at the resort easy to find. The majority of the staff were easy to work with and helpful.

It was a really nice resort. Very big indoor water park with areas suitable for little kids as well as adults. Hotel staff was helpful and friendly. Restaurants and Spa on site too.

Really needs to be renovated! Beds were dirty & mattressed weren't flipped so you know what that mean. Bathroom smelled like mold. We stayed in the Villas

Not too impressed. The outside is beautiful but our room was pretty gross. Also was not happy with customer service...we had a pullout bed in a couch in our room but the bed did not have sheets or blankets. No extra blankets or sheets anywhere in the room (also no soap, shampoo etc). I called down at 9pm to request sheets and a few pillows for my kids to sleep on this couch bed and it took 2 hours and 4 angry phone calls and we finally received them by 11pm....absolutely ridiculous. We will not be coming back to this hotel.

The room was very nice as was the water park. We had a great time!

Not a bad place. Was there for meetings. It seams to have gone downhill a little. Little long in the tooth. It's the Dell's so everything is over priced but these folks are pushing the envelope. The sports bar actually has some decent food and the bartenders are great. Some of the servers in the restaurant area are pretty mechanical. The water park is also in need of cleaning and maintenance. Two elevators were down while we were there. I like the place overall but it could use some paint and powder.

We love this place. There is things to do for all ages and great facilities

We love Chula so much we became members with perks all over the world. Check in is easy. The rooms are clean and comfy. Yhe waterpark is excellent. You will not have to leave the property for anything because there is 2 resturant, spa, laundry, dry cleaning services, a pool at every villa. Its very family friendly!

What a dump! I'm not sure if it was because our group went during an off-season or what, but this place was a joke!

Some examples: the waterpark is HUGE, but the amount of people going to the park is even larger. The drinks were poor, and it took nearly 25 minutes of waiting to get a drink in our hands. The employees are poorly-trained; we witnessed the coffee maker screw up order after order in a matter of just 20 minutes. The hallways were very loud at night.

OVERALL: Avoid! I got to go to this resort for free, and I won't ever go again for free unless they make huge changes to their overall employee morale. If the resort seems tempting to go to, please remember that it is isolated from Wisconsin Dells. If you want to go out to do anything at a reasonable price (I paid $8 for a drink), then go somewhere else in the Dells. You won't regret avoiding Chula Vista.

We stayed at the Golf Villa. Rooms are spacious to accommodate a big family of six with 2 queen beds and addition sofa-cum-bed. A mini kitchen with oven, microwave, dishwasher and kitchenware is there. We cooked our own food to avoid eating outside. Otherwise, Kilbourn City grill is a good option with excellent pizza. Not much room service though. Otherwise, a peaceful stay with enjoyable indoor water park. Kids simply love it here.

Our three year old had so much fun at both the indoor and outdoor water parks.

The furnishings and mattress seemed dated, but no big deal.

Mike, the bartender at the outdoor water park, is fantastic.

Eddy a line manager at the grill/restaurant is a complete jerk. He didn't like that I was driving below the speed limit on River Rd. at 7:55a on a Sunday morning. I'll guess that he was late for work. He told me that he was the "boss" there... Strange behavior for a guy in a shirt with the resort's name on it.

"Okay" indoor water park. Really could use a much better, cleaner changing area if they are going to offer day passes. Next time, will pay the extra $$ and go to Kalahari. Grandson had a good time though. Enough to know he will enjoy and it is worth going.

We stayed for 1 night. It was amazing. Definitely looking forward to coming back and staying longer. The breakfast buffet was amazing!!!!!!

Rooms are ok.... everyone seems pleasant. Will update this once my 3 day stay is complete. That s if I feel it is better than 3 stars.

Went for the weekend going back next year love the views and the water park.

The food was mediocre. The staff were excellent and accommodating. Our room sucked, one bed was caved in. The water park part was ok... I won't be returning.

The condos are nice however you do a lot of walking as most of the amenities are on the hotel side.

I stayed here in June of 2010 or 2011, don't remember for a reason! My room was filthy and filled with these white color bugs and when i called the front desk to inform them, i was shocked to see housekeeping take 10 minutes and come with s bug spray bottle, what! i knew right away this was a terrible mistake. informed the front desk and they push me aside like i didn't exit, avoided me at all costs. the room costs were very expensive like a 4 star hotel. 3 stars lol. i wouldn't give it a star. Can we give negative stars cause that's what they deserve. No customer service, housekeeping is a mess, rooms are filthy, front desk employees are rude and the indoor & outdoor pools are dirty. I had my girlfriend with me & it was my birthday weekend. Thanks for a wasted birthday which i do not have many left now. PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR RESORTS AND HOTELS!

Um this place is WAY too overhyped! Everyone told us about this place, and the water park is small like 8 slides at best. The employees don t help you they just shrug and let you figure it out. The rooms? Not as clean as a hotel should be to be honest. I was expecting more from Chula Vista.

Had a time share presentation to attend but dew to illness could not attend and they charged us a extra 100 bucks a night .dirty carpet and a whirlpool that's out in the middle of the living room in a two bedroom condo pretty hard to get romantic when someone from the other bedroom can walk out and see you having a good time in the tub very strange set up

It was an amazing resort i thought it was cool that they had a underground tunnel. But one of the best rides there was closed, so that was a disappointment but otherwise it was fun

It was a fun time for our very first visit. Stayed in the Golf course Villas with an amazing full kitchenette, oven, toaster, everything you need to just bring your own food. Only rated it a 4 because the restaurant we had breakfast buffet freaked out when I found Styrofoam take out containers for my left over food which I paid for but couldn't finish. Why throw it out and be wastefull. I have a compromised digestive system and can only eat so much which is very little, but 5 people came to the register like a swat team. Told me I couldn't do that. Wasn't like I puked my plate full, it was 2 sausages, a few forks full of of scrambled eggs and a piece of bacon. Woah...settle down. Spend over 50.00 for a family of 4 damn straight I'm taking what I couldn't eat with me. I can imagine what they waste then. But otherwise it was an amazing time. Going in the winter is not so bad. A shuttle picks you up and takes you to the waterpsrk. No walking in the freezing temp to get there. Nice balcony and beds were comfy just had a very small table to eat at in the room but kids sat there. Well come back but now we know to bring our own food to cook in room.

Great Family Environment Water Park! I took my family there and my two little kids had a great moment. Great vacations for us!

We had a great time at Chula Vista resort. My family and I went for the water park and it did not disappoint.

Hadn't been to Chula in about 8 years, unfortunately nothing has changed since. I was in a condo and it looked old and dingy. The beds creaked the pillows were old and very cheap looking. I found a razor in my room that wasn't mine. All the rugs looked old, nasty and unchanged throughout the resort. I covered the couches with sheets because they looked so nasty. There needs to be renovations to the resort with what they charge to stay there. The lifeguards are very nice, but the resort itself is past it's prime and needs severe upgrades.
