Where do I begin, surgery never calls out and info...

Where do I begin, surgery never calls out and informs how the surgery is going only they have started. And in the case of my child she had a major surgery that lasted over 3 hours. For a mother one minute feels like an hour anyway, and to not know is a very stressful and scary thing.
My child stayed in recovery for 3 hours ( the usual is 40 minutes to an hour) not one reached out to me , to inform me I had to walk and ask multiple times which I got the same simple answer it s her nausea. ( which being a surgery nurse I know that just nausea does not keep you in recovery that long).
The straw to break the camels back they halfed her medication ( who does that day of and day after surgery) they were called multiple times and told it was not time when the lady with anesthesia was in her with the chart and said it s over time for her pain medication. It was a total insult that everyone rush in and play the blame game, and it s no ones fault it was Casper the ghost, which Lord knows I know who Casper is, cause having three children he lives with us plus I don t know, and it wasn t me!!!!!!
Never will I ever bring a family member nor a enemy to the facility!

Worst hospital experience I ve had in a long time. Waited for no reason for over an hour for the doctor to not even look at or address the problem I was experiencing. Piss poor staff attitudes, and no solution to my problem.

I give them no stars but your forced to do 1 to speak your mind! I took my father to the er on Viking cause he had low BP and loose of appitite that had been declining for a couple of wks. Told them from the get go that if his insurance won't cover it if take him to other hospital. He's heartattack 2+yrs ago, eitger way so he's admitted ,stays, for WK. He had a few good nurses and n aids to help him but that's it. Rest are lazy useless pieces of flesh! Have to stay on them to do thier job!!! He got out today, they zing on him 800.00$ plus as some kind of co-pay for his room, try to force change his home health care, cause his insurance won't cover them,so more rapeing of his insurance!!! They diddled around about getting him out of there ,more billing. So basically, liers, thieves, I would not even carry my dog to them now!!! Like prostitutes changing the end game! Insurance is a ponsey scheme, and they double dipped!!! Do your loved ones a favor don't carry them here!!! I pray they hold thier breath! For a Christian based hospital, he does not reside thier!!! In the end all that hospital care about is something else they can bill you for!!! To the few nurses and aids that really went above and beyond, may heavenly father bless you all your days!!! To the administration, well I leave judgements to heavenly father!!! Personally I prefer punishment, but I have my duty under God and caring of my father!! God bless you all

Don t bring a child to the ER there. My primary doctor told me to bring my 9 yo daughter to the ER because she had a horrible rash that was getting worse as well as a high fever. He said she needed IV fluids and urgent lab work. I brought her to highland because it was the nearest hospital. They brought us back to triage and examined her, then they discussed billing codes with each other before telling me that they don t have a pediatrician. If she had to be admitted, they would have to transfer us to WKS. I should ve left right then and taken her to WKS but they said they could still see her as an outpatient. Throughout the day I kept waiting for them to give her fluids. They put a port in her hand and drew blood but never gave her fluids. The only person who even offered her water to drink was the chaplain. They checked her temperature when we first arrived and it was high. They didn t check it again until I asked them to, several hours later. They gave my daughter a cup for a urine sample but there was no little window or anything in the restroom for us to leave the sample, so I had to carry her cup of pee down the hallway to our room. I got back to the room and realized there was no sink to wash my hands or even hand sanitizer, so I had to go back to the restroom to wash up. Yep, I touched a bunch of door handles on my way to and from the bathroom. How s that for sanitary?

Physical therapy folks are so very professional and personal at same time! Definitely puts you at ease! I take my 78 year old uncle every Tuesday and Thursday to see same person and it never gets old or to be a hassle...if our appointment is at 9am and we arrive little prior to appointment time we get taken back within like 5 minutes no matter who or how many folks in waiting room! If you need physical therapy and ya live in Shreveport/Bossier area I would recommend going here! If you tell them that I sent you, that will not help you in the least amount!

Of no stars could be given i would hit it. Worst service ever along with rude staff. I was rushed in for chest and neck pains I told the RN that i was allergic to the gloves that she was putting on her reply to me was (with an attitude)"Well how do you know you allergic" then when i tried to tell her she went to look at the boxes like i was a lie yall need better staff if a patient tells you something listen to them. Its their body not yall body. Lord forbid if she would have touched me with those gloves because she thinks she knows everything RN dont mean nothing know your job know your place LISTEN TO YOUR PATIENT.. dr spoke with me for LITERALLY 2.5 SECONDS i never saw him again. I was misdiagnosed and discharged with no pain meds no shot no nothing. All they wanted to know was what i was taking certain meds for. Nosey nosey nosey people. I was sent to drive hours home (yes I'm not from there) in sharp pains in neck and chest. Anything could have happened to me out there i promise you it would have been yall hospital fault. Worse service ever and i wouldn't recommend my DOG to see yall. No wonder the place was 1/2 empty. I rate this hosptial with 0

I received a call from my wife that her brother rushed her to this hospital because her heart was hurting. I left work to go be with her and have now been waiting for 2 1/2 hrs., watching a lot of people with lesser problems be called back for treatment, while she and another heart patient are still sitting here waiting!!!

Was transferred here after an ER visit at Christus Bossier. I had an awesome experience! All the nurses and staff were so kind and friendly. They asked if I needed anything always, asked how I felt and always told me they hoped I felt better. If I wanted juice at midnight, they brought it to me, or if I needed help, they came. This was my first time ever in a hospital and I was treated exceptionally. I would only come here for any future treatment. 5 stars!!

Hate that no stars is possible but it s the worst hospital/Er I ve ever been to. My wife was overdosed on dilauded in the ER once and then was sent there having a seizure which the ER dr said was not a seizure but an anxiety attack. I had to ask for tests to be done since he was ready to send her back home. Well long story short, we went to Willis Knighton and she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. The neurologist at highland said nothing neurological is wrong without ordering a single test. Thank god for Willis Knighton. They treated her like a patient instead of a number to get out the door ASAP.

NEVER GO HERE. WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF POSSIBLE. I have taken my grandmother here on three different occasions and never been treated with any kind of urgency. If you have any kind of true emergency you are more likely to die in the waiting room before you re seen by any sort of medical personnelle.

I went there tonight due to pain. My blood pressure that was taken by the triage nurse was 163/115. After waiting IN PAIN, for OVER 3 hours we left without being seen. Only certain people were being seen. We took my blood pressure when we left it was 175/125. Went to WK it was kidney stones and prolapse uterus!! Seriously would NOT take ANUONE to this ER! The triage nurse NEVER even asked me how I felt! Seriously HORRIBLE! I could have had a stroke, & they did NOT care!!!

I went in (8/20/20) with a rather unbearable amount of pain from what we're all pretty sure was a kidney stone. While I did have to wait a short bit, that's life. The triage nurse immediately recognized I was in quite a bit of pain and did her best to accelerate the process and within about an hour of arrival and assignment of a bed they gave me something to relieve the pain. Whatever it was worked pretty well. They seemed pretty busy cause there were nurses and staff running all over the place, but they didn't just completely ignore me despite that. It did take a while from admitting to discharge, but that sort of thing happens when you gotta run a CT scan, blood work and urinalysis. It's doubly difficult when you can't give then urine to analyze. By the time I was discharged the pain was no worse than a dull ache and it hasn't kicked past a 3 or 4 since where it was a solid 10.

I'm not sure what all these 1* reviews were expecting. A lot of them come off really entitled and seem to lack an understanding of how emergency medical care works and who actually needs it. They took as much care of me as anyone else could or would have, and I'm very appreciative.

We were in the er in a chair for 10 hrs with my mom. She was ambulatory with compression fractures in her back. They supposedly didn t have a bed and then had to move us to WKN because they have no nuerosurgeon on staff. They did give her pain meds but I realized later they never checked her vitals in those 10 hours after receiving strong meds. We ve used this hospital since 1963. Very disappointing to us because this was the second time of similar circumstances.

Would really give them No star. We sat at the ER for not 1,2,3,4, but 5 hours with my dad whom is a dialysis patient who was suppose to have surgery at 10 the next morning. NOBODY called us back out of the lobby for the first 3.5 hours until I started asking questions. They got him to a BED, not room and place a BP cuff on him. His pressure was 220/104.... the machine was beeping like crazy for an hour and NOONE came to check. Needless to say We Left. I wouldn't refer ANYONE to use this trash of an ER/ Hospital.

I'm currently hospitalized here since Friday, 10/13/17. I've been hospitalized in numerous hospitals in my 64 years of living. This is definitely one of the worst. I'm in shock over just how bad my care has been. I was in ER from 9 am & admitted - finally in a room after 7:30 pm. Asked for a Tylenol Saturday morning at 8 am & didn't get until 2 pm. Had to beg them to please clean my room Sunday because it had not been touched! Had to asked over and over to please refill water. Begged Over and over to please hook IV back up after being taken off to bathe or go for a procedure. Just unbelievable in so many ways!!!!

I went in to have a Catheter Ablasion by Dr. Wiggins and his team on June 12th 2018. The staff was courteous, fast, and answered all questions they could. The nurses were all exceptional ...Haley, Janet, Meka, and Candi. Mary (chaplain) was also exceptional. She put me at ease in a matter of seconds. I would definitely recommend Christus Highland Medical Center to any and all...Thanks guys for the excellent care!

My I.C.U. nurses and doctor were awesome. A couple had a bad attitude but they deal with things I no way could.
When moved to 2nd floor step down it was okay a day. The nurses were VERY rude and UNCARING!
I spoke to the floor supervisor and even she had a blank look on her face and her voice was ice cold.
My nurse had started giving me my medicine before she realized I had been discharged. Needless to say I had to sleep the med off.
Apparently the Hospitalist had discharged me (Not the Pulmonary doctor treating me).
ALL the nurses from then on never came back to my room.
I will receive an apology and asked to email Lauren Ross with my name and number to receive a Patient Advocate.
They will accomplish nothing!

This is by far the worst place to go if u have had a a stroke.they sent my brother home without any plans for rehab or even a walker or a wheelchair. My brother has gotten worse and worse. He is now unable to walk and still has not seen a physical therapist! We have no idea 9what to do! They just sent him home for us to take care of and I guess for him to just cry every single day until he dies!

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hospital. My daughter and I set in waiting room of the ER for over 4 hours before being seen. Once called to the back details were very vague on what was going on. Finally found out we was to be admitted. Only to find out they didn t have a room for us. Since then we have been stuck in this small horrible ER room. Over 12 hours and still no room with no doctors coming by and no info being given from nurses. Can not believe this hospital is still up and running by the way hey treat their patients. Will never come back here. Also will let everyone else know if the horrible conditions here.

My Uncle is severely handicapped and has so many medical problems. Hes been a patient here for many many years. Christus shumpert decided to 'fire him' as a patient over a $300 bill. They told him that even if he paid the bill in full he wasnt allowed back. Now he is scrambling to find another dr before his medications run out next week. Not very Christian of them if you ask me but I guess money is more important than somebody's life.

I am on the phone with my lawyer right now. I am n...

I am on the phone with my lawyer right now. I am not playing with you all. Fix the problem now!!! There are 7 other hospitals in Shreveport/Bossier. Don't send a patient home because you all need to give up the bed. Do your jobs, either transport patients to another hospital or give the families and patients options for extended healthcare. But do not try to admit another patient for the sake of banking on their insurance. Do not do it. I have a lot of resources and you all are not prepared for the legal problems coming to you. Quit competing with Willis Knighton and LSU. Health care is not to monopolized. You all are going to lose business from trying to out do eachother. Besides, before any of you take over healthcare in Shreveport, you'll lose it all the profit from having to pay of the penalties from the giant mound of lawsuits you'll have on your hands. So fix this one problem or else. It needs to be done immediately. Call me and tell me you fixed the problem ASAP!!!

Wow!! What a terrible place to go if you have a real emergency. My sister broke her leg and we've been here going on 7 hours. After waiting 5 hours she's finally recieved her first pain medicine. The nurses were rude and gossiping at the nurse station all night. The doctor took about 4 hours to come in before she even did anything. Terrible place to come.

Was recently hospitalized here and was so appalled by treatment I received from some of the nursing staff. I was literally slapped on my chest by an RN while she applied medication to my chest. She was rude on many occasions while I was there and very non sympathetic to my condition. Not only was her treatment utterly disgraceful but when I said something about it my concerns went unanswered. We also observed elderly patients running from nurses down the corridor screaming in terror. When asked we were told the patient was suffering from dementia. The lack of empathy was alarming!! These types of yhthin happened more than once the time I was there.
The food in this hospital is not for human consumption!!! We were constantly having to go out for food. I will NEVER use this facility again and will advise any and every one to use any other!

Had an overall positive experience with Highland. My mother had a heart ablation here with Dr. Wiggins and the entire staff in the operating area was very polite and attentive. The recovery on the 3rd floor went as good as you could want - the room was huge and I was even able to get some sleep despite people coming in and out throughout the night. Two particular nurses - Robin & Alec were above and beyond in all they did - totally exceeded expectations and made the experience memorable. THANK YOU!

Dr. Mancini and her staff recently did a double valve replacement and bypass heart surgery on my husband. The care we received from the moment we enterd the hospital until we left was excellent. It was very refreshing to see Dr. Mancini in the cardiac care unit all the time. She has a real love for her patients and her career. The nurses and staff in the unit were very efficient, helpful and caring. Everyone went above and beyond and now they feel like family. Thank you.

The worst hospital I've ever been to.
They wait until the day of surgery to start pre OP. Then make you sit there all day before surgery. The ER is awful as well. They leave you sitting in the room for hours waiting to check out. Last ti.e, I just left.

Went to the emergency room with heart palpitations...

Went to the emergency room with heart palpitations, extreme dizziness and dangerously high blood pressure. The triage nurse checked my blood pressure and it was still very high. I was taken to the back where they performed an EKG and took my blood pressure again. The blood pressure machine said that my blood pressure was fine and I was discharged. I was still extremely dizzy from my high blood pressure. I went back to the triage nurse on the way out and had her take my blood pressure again. It was still high. I told them the machine in room 8 was broken. She called the doctor and he said he was fine with the high blood pressure and my dizziness was probably from my medications. No it wasn't, I have been taking the same medications for 10 years. He also completely ignored the fact that the blood pressure machine in the front was significantly different from the reading off of the machine in the back. What if someone was having a heart attack? What if someone was having a stroke? Why are they not concerned that their emergency room equipment is broken and gives false readings? Why do they ignore a patients symptoms? This is an emergency room. I will be contacting the hospital. If they choose not to deal with the situation then I will be contacting the BBB.

The time frame of waiting in ER is like being at LSU. No separation of viral and none viral. Not sufficient employee per patient ratio. I'm a Stroke patient and my blood pressure is at stroke level and hours later, still no doctor. This is a scary situation! I'm going to find a different facility for treatment.

I went in because i was started to develop a cold,...

I went in because i was started to develop a cold, and wanted ti make sure it wasnt getting any worse. I waited in the waiting room for almost 2 hours before they came to give me and iv, and ended up drawing 6 vials of blood for seemingly no reason. Before the even came to draw my blood a lady stood and started complaining because she had been there for five hours, and she was obviously in a lot of pain, and its STILL took them another 30 minites to even come give the poor woman an iv. Never have i had my blood drawn over a somthing to do with congestion. They then left the iv needle in my arm, and i sat in the lobby with it stuck in there for another 3 hours. While sitting and waiting, four other patients who came in around the same time I did decided to just check out, as they were having serious problems and knew of somewhere they could get help faster. I eventually had to find someone and tell them I wanted the needle out of my arm so I could leave as by that time it was almost 1 in the morning and the person who brought me had work the next day, then they decided to call me back. I was sitting in the room when a nurse barged in on the phone and took equipment out of the room, being loud and never even acknowledging me on the bed. When the RN came in, she was very polite and obviously seemed rushed, which i understand wasn't her fault, but i eneded up sitting in there for another two hours, and was given antibiotics for a uti, but never got information on my cold, weather thats what it was or wasn't. The doctor was very polite despite being rushed so i have to give them that. But i went in at 8:00 pm and wasn't discharged till 2:00 am. And because I wasn't admitted, one of tests they gave me wasn't going to be run, and I have to wait till they decide to run it and get the results for it. I dont recommend going to this emergency room. The staff are kind enough. But you have to hope and pray they even get to you to experience that.

I first would like to say that Advanced cardiovascular clinic and Rheumatology clinic are great the nurses tech etc. I go to them on a regular basis. I went to the ER for the first time ever due to a really bad burn or cut something was spreading in my leg I was already on oral antibiotics but it was getting worse I have a low immune system and heart disease and the big guy with a beard was very rude he thought I shouldn't be there and i was "to young" to have heart disease. Anyway I got called to the back dr looked for 2mins said I was fine and sent me on my way. They next day the infection was spreading I could barely walk I went to Willis knighton and was admitted I was just released yesterday a 5 day stay. If Highland would have took the proper time to understand my illness and see it might not have spread the way it did. I'll never use this ER again.

My stepmom just walked out of the ER with kidney stones, in the 1 kidney she has left. The reason? Because they didn't see her condition as urgent as the other people there, even tho she was there first. She had to sit there and watch people that came in after her get seen first. Y'all should be ashamed of yourselves for this.
I hate to leave such a negative comment because we also visit the Cancer Center every 2 weeks, but they're compassionate over there. I guarantee they wouldn't have treated her like that at any other ER, but she chose yours because she likes the doctors there.
If she ever has to go to y'alls ER again, I hope y'all actually treat her with respect and not allow 4-5 other people go ahead of her again. Correction.. Next time she goes I'll be there and I guarantee this won't happen again.

My grandma was put in hospice care here. The staff was so attentive and caring. They took care of my grandma with respect and kindness in her last days, and I will forever be grateful for that. A loved one just experienced this hospital. They were told to be there for surgery at 9:45am but didn t have the surgery until close to 4:30pm. The nurses were AWFUL!! Please help them learn to be empathetic to patients. After my loved one had surgery, she was given a room at 10pm, then was told she was probably going to be released (she was having nausea from the anesthesia) and was in no condition to be released. Luckily they kept her another night but then at 7am the nurses were calling us and telling us she needed to be picked up because she was released. 1. There is a complete lack of respect for patients and their needs 2. The nurses especially need to be replaced or given opportunities to actually learn how to treat patients. 3. I had one parent get a staph infection and later passed away after care at this hospital 4. After this experience I would never send my loved one or even any enemy for care at this facility

Do not. Do NOT bring your loved ones here. My grandmother was treated horribly by nursing staff who were severely unattentive to her needs and conditions. When it came time to discharge her every single nurse sat directly at the nurses stations on their phones paying no mind to me dressing her and getting her ready to leave by myself. 0 assistance. Not even the common courtesy of offering a wheelchair. After leaving i I was called to RETURN for her discharge paperwork and prescriptions. This hospital is an absolute circus and should be avoided at all costs. They give no consideration to the proper courses of action dictated by hospital standards and I would go as far to say that they toy with factors of life or death. Stay away.
