Appalling experience dealing with this letting agent to view and apply for a property. My partner and I are both working professionals with two children. My first contact with this agency was a telephone call to enquire about the property and wether it was still available to view. I Spoke to Clare and after a few questions about us it was evident quite quickly they discriminate against children. The four bedroom property in question I was told only has one reception room and Clare sounded baffled that I still wanted to view the property knowing this with having children! At this point I knew that this was a bad sign. We went to view the property really liked it and applied. Didn t hear anything had to keep chasing. Spoke to the director of the company Chris who was really unfriendly and sounded like somebody who really didn t enjoy his job. Very huffy and not a pleasure to speak to at all. Still no updates had to call again another 2 times and was given no updates. Was informed by Clare via email around 5 days after applying that the landlord had chosen another tenant to go forward with. Well that would be fine and we accepted it however this was later discovered to be a lie and my friend was offered a time slot to view the property after we were told that somebody else had been selected over us. Why lie just be honest? It is a blessing in disguise because I would only like to rent a house with an honest and reputable company, this agency clearly isn t either. I m not surprised they have 1* 2* 3* reviews on all platforms because they are hands down the worst agency I have ever had to deal with. I am just glad that they are not my rental agency and I did not get the property as they are clearly extremely dishonest. I am sure in time we will find an agency that doesn t look down their nose at people and are actually willing to help. If only they had a reference from our previous landlord they would see were are excellent tenants. When I called them after I found out my friend had called and it was still available she still continued to lie and said maybe they are just getting names for interest rather than answer my question about why we were lied to. My friend was actually given a time slot to view. They ignored polite emails from myself just requesting information on to why we were unsuccessful to help us with future applications.
Can t take constructive criticism when challenged. We are honest hand working people and do not appreciate being lied to they did not like it when I called to inform them that they clearly discriminate and lied to us!

Be aware of their Covid guidelines if you have to deal with this agency. I tested positive following the viewing and informed Clare by email about this for track and trace purposes as I did not have her full details to provide to the track and trace service. She ignored the email and when I informed her again over the telephone she said she is working to procedure. Clearly not as she is not self isolating and still continuing to work after being exposed to coronavirus.

As a landlord, I recently used Chris McAvoy and could not fault the service. Chris is extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy and honest in his appraisal, a rarity in the industry. His staff in the office were always helpful and gave first class customer service every time. My property was let quickly and efficiently. I felt that there was a real quality to the procedure as they tried to find me the most suitable tenant rather than just anybody to close the job. Having previously worked alongside the lettings industry for fourteen years in corporate estate agency, I feel particularly qualified to thoroughly recommend this firm and personally I would not go anywhere else in Atherstone for a letting agent.

Chris is a great bloke and delivers z high quality of service for his tennents and landlords.

We rented a property through Chris McAvoy lettings for over a year and were very impressed with our experience. At all times Chris and the team were courteous, helpful, and very professional. They are a specialist letting team and really know what they are talking about. They never interfered when were living at the property and always gave us notice about the 6 monthly inspections. Any queries we had were always dealt with very speedily. Highly recommended!

As a landlord, I recently had a property become vacant and I used Chris and his team to find me another tenant. After a brief period of marketing, I had a choice of three excellent candidates and the property was re-let with minimal downtime. I found the staff to be helpful, courteous and efficient at all times and they were able to relieve me of a lot of hassle which was very much needed at the time. Thoroughly recommend.

Cannot recommend highly enough! Chris and his team managed my property for a year and a half. They were excellent! From an owners perspective, you won't find a better letting/managing agent.

Chris McAvoy and his team have been exceptional in the way they looked after me as a tenant. They were responsive, always friendly and extremely helpful. I never felt like burden when contacting them and they always went the extra mile to ensure that things ran smoothly. A genuinely lovely team of people who always did what they said they would and in a very thorough, courteous and professional manner. I really can't rate them highly enough.

Was advised that I would be contacted about a viewing as soon as they had access to the property. I have chased up via email with no response but have just checked the website and the property has been taken down so I assume it's been let. The lady did ask me if I had children and I do. Maybe they should state clearly what they are going to discriminate against before getting peoples hopes up and wasting time. Doubt they have been in our shoes and I'm sure they are very nice to landlords.. End of the day, they are just another untrustworthy estate agent. Their loss.
