I cannot say more great things about CHOC. I am just a normal mom to a daughter who unfortunately had to make several visits and stays at CHOC. I cannot speak more highly of the Neuro team on the fifth floor. They have done SO much for our family I cannot even count. And they all did it with a smile. They patiently walked through my daughter s diagnosis and never made us feel like a burden. They prioritized us during emergencies and have been so wonderful at validating my fears while also trying their best to reassure me and my husband. The nurses are ALL wonderful and always willing to help. The doctors- especially Dr. Adams and Dr. Stenari (spelling? ) have been ridiculously knowledgeable and helpful since the beginning of our journey. Although our daughter has a rare condition, the staff are educated enough to treat our girl who is now stable and doing so much better. Our initial pediatrician even overlooked our girl s condition and even mocked us. But I will forever be grateful to these doctors, nurses, and staff who have put my daughter s health as their priority. thank you CHOC!

I would have given the ER 5 stars because everyone was helpful and amazing except our actual doctor last night. When my teenage son was explaining his injury to head/neck during a basketball game, she literally rolled her eyes at him. It was late, but not that late. Totally unprofessional. Everyone else, KUDOS & thank you!

I was there on January 12 and 13. It was a nightmare. The doctor are fine. They are very professional and did their job. But when it comes about the staff. They don't have any respect for kids or their family. My daughter had to had a sleepy study. And they were bothering all the process we have to wait until they finish with the pacient next to us because they were doing a lot of noise and didn't allow my daughter fall sleep easily for the study. After that any question I was doing everything was like in a bad mood. They weren't checking on my daughter anytime. I asked for few things and neither get them or I had to go and ask twice in the reception about them. The worst was the lady in the desk blond hair the only one that was speaking Spanish. She go very upset and she even make me a horrible face when my daughter was discharged and at the elevator she find out that left her toy back in the room. She didn't want to go back for the toy but I wasn't leaving with it knowing that was my daughter's favorite. So she make a face an told someone in her watch that we were coming "because a toy" and the tone that she used oh my God! That was the last thinks that I needed with the overall service and all the staff. That's why I call the advocate department, Alba super nice, and I made a complain about all the stuffs that happened specially the second day January 13. It was a nightmare because the STAFF. The show me that they didn't care for my daughter's privacy or her necessities.

I took my son to the Urgent Care at CHOC and they sent me to the ER for him to get an MRI. Waited approximately 2 hours in the ER for the MRI and was told they don't do MRI's in the ER. Then called the Urgent Care to ask why they would send us to the ER for an MRI if they don't do them there and the Urgent Care did not have a response for me. The ER doctor who told me no MRI's are done in the ER overheard my conversation with Urgent Care and changed to saying that they do MRI's in the ER but he did not feel my son needed one. Now we have a large bill for the ER, even though the service we were there for was not provided. Filed a complaint with CHOC Customer Service and they pretended to care about the situation and billed us anyways.

I love how fast CHOC can blindside you with a big bill after you already paid what was "owed after insurance" at the time of the visit, yet it takes them almost 2 months to tell you if your child's heart murmur is okay... oh ya his pediatrician and i are still waiting for those results after persistently calling for them that we were suppose to have within the week of our visit. Guess money is more important to them than my child's well-being.
