Food was delicious and presented in amazing fashion. Only thing I can't get over is this culture of overpriced craft cocktails. I get that we're using quality ingredients but it's wild that drinks cost as much as a plate of food.

I do not really care for this place, but it does have really good food and a fun atmosphere. For as busy as they are the wait staff is very attentive as well! Wished our friend a happy birthday with their birthday shot! It's amazing!

We had a large party and the staff handled it with no problem food was on point waiter was great and got our orders in correctly. Overall our party was satisfied with the service and food options. We would definitely be back again. This place has music and a bar upstairs with seating for dining throughout the place. Bang bang wings

Upscale in both drinks and food, we had a great time on a Saturday night. The bars in the Lake and Hennepin area are really focused on the younger side with beer pong and other drinking games. We found this as a haven of drinks and food on a Saturday night when most places were serving in plastic cups. Highly recommend the Poke' tacos, fresh and tasty.

Food is good! Our server was saying some low-key sexist comments so that brought down my experience. Also, the place encourages sake bombs accompanied by paper Japanese headbands. The food is good, but the environment is not.

They gave my wife the wrong order and forgot mine. Once my order was delivered to the table they were just starting my wife s order so I was finished eating before her food was delivered. I ordered pork fried rice and got nothing but large chunks of pork fat with zero meat in the bowl. It also took a very long time for our server to come to the table to give us our check so we sat for almost an hour without drinks before we could pay. It took a total of 2 hours and 15 minutes from when we were seated to the time we got our bill. I ve never done a review before but I am disgusted about paying a high price for terrible food and service.

Great friendly atmosphere it gets loud but its manageable and the food was phenomenal with so many options and the drinks aren't too spendy and very good to. Keep in mind we went during an early happy hour and we will definitely be back. It was clean and the customer service was great.

Had a birthday party here with 20 people. We did the Fidel Castro pig roast. Holy smokes was that epic! The sides were incredible, the pig was amazing, the service was fantastic and the whole night was so memorable!

I left my favorite sunglasses there. I called to see if they found them and the Host was able to locate them and hold them for me. When I went back to pick them up they were gone. Manager was going to check with everyone and call back, but there was no call back. Not a fan of their customer service.

I normally do not like to leave one-star reviews, especially when there are people who clearly enjoy the restaurant, its food, and its environment. I've been here twice and, both times, I've been let down by its food and (most recently) its hospitality.

It, by all definitions, is a trendy, upscale bar and restaurant. They have cool drinks with bright sparklers and dry ice to make the drink look like it's steaming. The music is booming and their menus looks nice. Their happy hour prices are VERY reasonable (I got my moscow mule for $5).

I came here recently to attend a friend's birthday celebration and was the first of my party to arrive. To the restaurant's defense, the rest of the birthday crew arrived about 15 minutes late to the reservation and other members came in much later. However, we were instructed that our reservation would only allot us 2 hours to eat and drink for a party of 10+. They were very strict on this--constantly reminding us during our dining experience that we had to be finished at a given time. Towards the end of our allotted time, they were ushering us out because the table was reserved for another party. I would say that we didn't even get to properly do our Minnesotan goodbyes! I would feel more sympathy if the two large party tables on either end of us were full or if the restaurant was bustling, but they were completely empty. No large parties seemed to be waiting upstairs either. Considering the amount of money that the party collectively spent on their cocktails and food, I feel like we should have been treated better.

Food tastes okay. I feel like it's overpriced for the amount of food that you get. My friend and I shared their Cuban Pork dish and it was just enough for the two of us and a small take home box. It didn't taste bad. I don't recommend the Phuket noodles. The first time I got them, they were sugary sweet, and the second time that a friend got them, it was very salty and it tasted like they added Tiparos or Squid fish sauce right at the very end so it was very pungent and fishy-tasting. (Not to say that pad thai shouldn't have fish sauce--by all means, it should!)

Overall, I haven't had good experiences with this restaurant. I recognize that others have had a great time here and enjoy the food, so you should consider trying to eat here if you haven't before.

Probably the coolest restaurant in the Twin Cities as far as atmosphere. It seems like things have changed recently - not like it was bad before - but service is much faster, food is hotter, and they've changed the menu. Generally I'd say the food here is the best it's been in a long time. Make sure you try the late night happy hour!

I absolutely loved my dining experience at at Chino Latino today. The food, atmosphere and customer service was awesome. I ordered ywo types of chicken dishes and guacamole and I could not be more pleased. Happy Hour is from 430pm till 7pm during the week and that's a great time to sample the food items at a discount price.

Went there for my bachelorette party last night and the bartender working there (white dude with brown hair, didn t catch his name) was immediately rude, condescending, and impatient with us before we were even able to order a drink. Nonstop scoffing and acting like we were wasting his time (we were the only people seated at the bar on his side) and repeating what we were saying in a nasal, mocking voice.

God forbid we order a drink and talk at your establishment! Tell your condescending bartender that if he s so upset at a bunch of girls ordering tiki drinks and having fun in his presence he should find a dive bar to work for.

Plain and simple, the food is INSANELY overpriced. Even the "large portion" meals feed 2 people and the food itself wasn't that good outside of the spare ribs. The other weird factor is that the restaurant doesnt have ranch.... If im paying 300% more than usual for my food i would expect every condiment readily available. Will not return

We ate here on 2/23/18. Our evening started with valeting our car. I park out front and I see three employees of the valet standing at their booth. Nobody assists with opening my passengers door, or mine, or greeting us at all. I step out and walk up to the valet stand, where finally one employee greets us and asks me for $8. Confused, I asked if i can pay it inside or later as I'd like to get in and eat, he says no... which I find odd, never in my experience with valet have I had to pay up front, but maybe that's beginning to be more common, but something to consider changing. There was no sign that I saw that even said that valet was $8. We went inside for our evening. Atmosphere was very cool, darker with great lighting fixtures. You may need a flashlight to see the menu though. Definitely a unique spot in Minnesota. Ordered a few different sushi, the fire roll is easily my favorite sushi I have ever had in my life... spicy with a lot of flavor, crunch, and very fresh. We went with a bottle of wine, which we enjoyed. Service was good- unfortunately I forgot our servers name. Food came out quickly. Portions are large, but our waiter was nice and explained everything I needed to know before we ordered since it was my first time. Dinner experience was great, but it ends there. Trying to get the car from valet, I walk outside to one of the employees counting a handful of cash and give him my ticket, which he takes from me without saying anything. He continues to count his cash for about 5 minutes while I tell my date to wait inside as it is the middle of winter in Minnesota. After 5 minutes I see him start to walk to wherever they keep the cars. 15 minutes go by and still no car...how car is their lot? What are they doing? Finally it comes around the block and the valet attendant parks it, leaving the driver side door wide open. As we start to walk up to the car he walks towards the rear of my car to speak to another employee who just pulled up a car behind him. I, again, open the passenger door for my date and go around to the driver side with the door still wide open and absolutely no word from the valet attendant as he basically is hanging out at the car behind us. Very disappointed in the valet service that Chino outsources for their restaurant. The company is 'uptown valet''. Maybe it is our age or type of car, but I hope this is not how they treat all their customers. Although age and car should not matter in service. Would strongly consider looking into another valet company if I was management here, as it definitely changed our dinner experience. Might be back for the sushi, definitely wont be back for the valet service. Avoid valet if you're a future customer of Chino Latino.

I tell all my friends three things about Chino: 1) Amazing Atmosphere 2) Exceptional Food and Drinks 3) Hit or Miss Service.

Every single time I've gone to Chino, the food has rocked my world. The atmosphere doesn't change much, but it doesn't need to. Super vibey, low light with lots of candles. It can get loud as Chino tends to be 1/3 restaurant, 1/3 bar, and 1/3 nightclub from dinner on. On Valentine's Day, I was seated promptly and brought drinks within 2 minutes and my waitress was very attentive throughout the meal. Maybe this represents a new leaf being turned by the staff/management. A year ago and more, I have had reservations and definitely waited 45 minutes for a table despite having them. I would still give them 5 stars every time for the food and drinks alone, though. Covers a host of sins. And maybe inspires a few.

The Cuban Pork crisis while not completely "Cuban"...

The Cuban Pork crisis while not completely "Cuban" traditional is still mouthwateringly delicious and GIGANTIC. Definitely worth splitting with another person this generous portion definitely highlights the great Latin flavors, while still being presented with a hint of "Chino" slaw.

If you like spicy dishes I recommend the Asian Style Wings over the traditional buffalo, which are highlighted as part of the Happy Menu, which is fantastic and a great deal.

The environment can be a little loud making it more festive and less intimate, but once you see the table next to you do a round of Saki Bombs you will almost feel compelled to take part yourself. Highly recommended with a group or a birthday. A Minneapolis must-do.

I was so excited to try this place out, but was sorely disappointed by the service. The food was ok but definitely not worth the hype the place is given and not the best for the prices. I was with a large party so I didn't expect to be in and out quickly but the service was so slow. It took 45 minutes or better to get our tickets to leave. Lots of waiting for the waitress to come back throughout the night. The waitress seemed very flustered by a large group-very poor time management skills.

I've been to Chino a number of times over the years and everytime the food has been quite good. You can find a great fusion selection of Asian and Latino cuisine. It is a bit on the expensive side, but the trade off is that their portion sizes are generous enough to split (so long as your not famished). Make sure to catch the happy hour which has good drink and food/app specials, but can be difficult to do due to limited bar area seating.

I have been here so many times and have never had a poor experience. I usually go for happy hour and order appetizers. The guacamole with plantain chips is my favorite. They also have a wonderful cocktail menu full of fun flavors and unique names (i.e. donkey punch). The only downside is parking can be difficult to find especially if you're looking for free parking.

Pros: have a good happy hour for drinks and apps.
In general, not super impressed by their general menu (Good menu options, but I feel a good chunk of the food options are pretty bland. With it being a fairly pricy place, for me the normal menu price isn't worth it.

Very rude service! I called to see if I could update our reservation to add 1 to the party of 6 and the person not only denied the request, but then started snickering out loud. I asked if she understood and was ok? She only denied the request and again she started laughing through her nose(the sound was disgusting). I asked to talk to her supervisor/manager and she stated that he was not available...likely story. I don't think that I will be eating in this restaurant in the near future! I am hoping that someone will teach the employees to treat their customers with respect!

Some thoughts you should keep to yourself.

Really cool place, just not for me. The food selection was random and expensive. It is definitely a highly encouraged "family style" restaurant which I am just not a fan of. A fun place but overall would not go here again unless it was to just get a drink. The bathroom set up was pretty cool, all of the washroom parts (like sinks and hand towels) were communal with the ladies.

I want to rate this place higher; it's really cool...

I want to rate this place higher; it's really cool inside (and I'll bet it's a total meat market on the weekends... just sayin'), the service is good, the drinks tasted great (though I'm skeptical about the amount of booze in them) and there are all kinds of options for food. But that's the thing.. The food really wasn't all that amazing and it was pretty damn expensive. I guess it probably depends on what you get but it definitely seemed hit or miss and like there was a sizeable mark-up just for the ambiance. I felt like I was back in New York.
The "pork crises" was a large dish, for sure, but for the price I wasn't too stoked about the amount of meat and it didn't have a lot of flavor. I had to order some salsa to make it more interesting. It looked pretty cool though, kind of primal. But not cool enough to make it $28. Should be about half that price, maybe a little more. But! I have lunch for the next couple of days.
My wife and a friend both had sushi, which was good but not worth the extra ten dollars over our regular sushi joint. It came out quick, which seemed great, but the presentation was decidedly lacking and the portion was definitely not proportional to the price. We are used to sushi taking more time and being wowed when it comes out. It better be locally sourced, farm to table (little joke there, yes it's dumb...).
Our other friend had a Phad Thai type of dish which he pretty much inhaled, so it must've been alright (food snob) but I didn't ask. Sorry, my bad; I should have tried it.
I'll tell you though, the tacos were pretty good and I look back and wish that I'd just stuck with those. I think that would actually be a winning strategy with this place; tacos and drinks. They have 10 tacos for $30 on the dinner menu and that's not bad but then there are $2 tacos on the happy hour menu.
I had a couple of mojitos which were pretty damn tasty and my wife had a couple of the 1800 triple margaritas (I forget the name but that's the gist), which were also good but didn't actually seem to have three shots of booze in 'em. Neither of us copped much of a buzz. She didn't eat a lot so six shots shoulda laid her out.
Oh yeah, the kid had some badass drink that came in a pineapple. She dug it. She also liked the tacos and the pot stickers. We should have just followed her lead.
So, I guess, if I were to sum this up I'd say that there are just too many "buts." I wouldn't mind checking out the happy hour but I'm not gonna trip over myself to go back. There are too many other great places to check out that aren't so damn expensive.

Been here two times both for birthdays. I must say the location is very hip, very unique but lots of faults. If this is your first night in town It may not be the place to patronize. Going in it's very hard to get seated especially if you are trying to eat. Generally there are a lot of birthdays happening. When It comes to food it's very overpriced and bland. So don't think of this as a quick fun date night. It's not.

This is a corporation they own other locations of "high end," priced foods and not a lot of value. Especially on your birthday avoid this place they will serve you watered down alcoholic beverages for $10!

Also, bathrooms good luck getting to one they're located conveniently in the basement where you'll probably take 10 minutes to just get to. Overall location is very loud, excessively. I'd say try out other places downtown.

We had a business dinner here on Thursday evening. Surprisingly it wasn't as loud and as busy as it usually is. It was a good experience. Their menu is quite expensive, and most plates are designed for sharing. Parking around here is a bit tricky, so if you're looking to park, there is paid parking behind the building that's just a few minutes walk to the restaurant.

The drinks are usually pretty good, and the food is great. Although, the excitement behind the food definitely comes more from the flare than taste. It s delicious, but the presentation for more dishes is amazing! Chino is a great place to go with a group due to the size of many dishes. And if you re going for a birthday party, be sure to let them know the person s name when RSVPing. They go a step above to make the birthday person feel extra appreciated.

So if you are into loud, super crowded spaces, over priced drinks this is your spot. The food was delicious but I've had better for less. The waitress told us to prob get two entrees and share and that would be plenty for 2. Well one entree would have been enough for 2. My margarita was not good and 13 dollars. I don't mind paying for good drinks but in this case it was not worth it.
We were sat in an area that the waitresses and food runners were trying to figure out a way to drop off food and drinks at the table. Multiple times I saw the waitresses dropping drinks on purses coats and on the backs of patrons. Bathroom is downstairs on the lower level. Smelled really good which I know is a funny thing to remember but, I DID. Won't go back but it was an experience.
