My wife and I had a home birth with Debbie. It was a great experience that my wife and I really appreciated. She is knowledgeable and caring. She also was a great resource for us in knowing what to expect. Being a chiropractor that works with pregnant women regularly, I appreciate her natural approach to the birthing process and keeping the new mom comfortable throughout the process.

I do NOT recommend Debbie as a midwife at all! After a lot of thought I have decided to share the story of my our birth with her. She is very nice and charming so I was surprised by her rude and hostile manner when she arrived to my home. She wasn't organized and did not have all the parts to the birth tub so my aunt needed to run to the store to gets parts. She did not have a birthing ball or other labor items as promised. Shortly after the tub was set up she made us RUSH out of my house to go with her to her home so that she could deliver another women's baby who went into labor after I did. I heard the other woman labor and deliver the baby while I was left alone without medical attention for hours. Once she returned to me she made us rush to the hospital where she went to sleep and did not advocate for our birth plan at all. She allowed the Dr to bully me into a procedure that was a STRICT NO for both my husband and I. I also endured many elements of sexual assault and obstetric violence. Currently, I am working with professionals to try and come to peace with the trauma I suffered from my birth. This experience thought me to NEVER go into birth without a Professional Douala. No matter how much you trust your caregiver. It also thought me to write honest reviews on health care providers so that people can make honest decisions about whom they work with. This whole situation is very sad for many reasons, mainly because I believe in home birth more than anyone could ever imagine.
I would also like to say that it is VERY difficult and VERY brave for women that experience negative births to come forward and share what they can with others, or to confront their care givers that caused the trauma in the first place. I hope more woman feel compelled to do so and are able to do so without the fear of backlash, further harassment or not being believed. I hope one day there truly is a safe space for woman with birth trauma to share their stories about the health care providers they hired without negative repercussions. These are OUR stories, these are OUR perceptions, these are OUR truths!

Debbie is an excellent midwife! She was always available and was great at explaining everything. The homebirth was a wonderful experience. She was very professional, knowledgeable and knows when medical intervention is necessary. She is very focused on the health of both the mother and baby. I highly recommend her if you wish to go the natural route.

Debbie was extremely unorganized, insensitive and forgetful. My husband and I came to her at 30 weeks after we moved to the area fromDenver. She expected us to pay almost the full amount for just ten weeks of care. After our third appointment we told her that it wasn't going to work for us because $4000 seemed like too much for 10 weeks of care. I was emotional because I wasn't going to have the home birth I wanted. She then proceeded to take my vitals, along with my baby's, didn't tell me how my baby was doing and charged me for the appointment! She was extremely insensitive and rude. I would not recommend her as a midwife.
