Incredible atmosphere and great drink selection. Food is very good too. One of my new favorite places to visit in Chicago.
Incredible atmosphere and great drink selection. Food is very good too. One of my new favorite places to visit in Chicago.
Had drinks in the drawing room. Wonderful atmosphere. Quiet room with muffled background noise. Good selection of scotch.
So nice! Highly recommend this place when visiting Chicago
It's a great place to start your night with moderately priced drinks and free games.
Service was excellent and the room was very nice. Room service costs weren't unreasonably high.
Rooms are so small, no coffee, no closet, no shower door, uncomfortable bed, rude front desk... ac didn t work. Horrible hotel. Book somewhere else!
Hotel is amazing.. Nice staff but impossible to get a coffee at 5am.. Only option is room service.. Which took 40 mins! Apparently this was due to room service struggling to keep up with high demand.. At 5am on a Sunday.. Its 2019.. Put coffee making faclities in every room
My 13 y/o son is on a pool kick and was dying to play while on our little getaway to Chicago. I was so happy to come across this place because not only do they allow children under 21 to play but IT IS FREE! We of course ordered food and drinks which were amazing. We actually went back 2 days in a row. The first day I has the local $5 beer on tap and it was delicious. We also ordered a couple rounds of the popcorn and OMG it is so delicious. A cheap must try. The second day we split the fried chicken sandwich that comes with fries and it was also crazy good. A decent portion for us to split. I also had a bloody mary and it was about average.
They also have shuffle board and chess and checkers and bocci. We enjoyed all they had! FYI things are first come first served so there may be a short wait to use the pool table or something of the like. But this place isnt overly crowded and there is usually something else you can do while waiting. . . Like grab a beer and a popcorn. Seriously, try the popcorn!
A remarkable and surprising hotel that has plenty of modern energy but plays homage to its clubby and historic past. A real treat, from the robes in the rooms that look like they could be awaiting a prizefighter coming out of the ring to the pommel horse that served as a bench at the end of the bed. So very cool. Filled with millennials in the Game Room but found a quiet nook in the Cherry Circle. Will try Cindy's on the next trip!
Went there for a drink and hanging out with friends. Absolutely gorgeous establishmentioned and a great place for hanging out.
I liked the theme of this place. Old school table games meet mixologist cocktails. The bar was too loud to converse in.
Great location, beautifully refurbished historic building, reasonably priced
The game room is awesome. Good beer and a lot of fun games to play with a group of friends or coworkers
Fabulous views of Millennium Park, great cocktails and delicious food.
It was very fantastical feeling, like old but not outdated. Lots to see and do and drink and eat.
Eclectic, quant, and endearing! A fun little stop if you have a half hour or so to kill in the city! Go to the second floor and enjoy some delectable tea, hot chocolate, and house-made cheese and crackers. There is also a full menu of finger-foods and desserts incase you need something more substantial. Just brilliant in every way - from the food to the ambiance!
The Chicago Athletic Association Hotel is basically an all in one experience. From the moment we walked in, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. There is a number you can text for help from the concierge, and the response time was More
They were so awesome with our sweet June. She got a cookie & a plush bed upon arrival. We loved our stay!
Truly an architectural masterpiece. Hotel has been beautifully restored. All of the drink and dining options are top notch. Service is stellar. The only place we'll stay in Chicago. Pet friendly too!
Excellent location, beautifully appointed rooms. Great service.
Terrific reuse of a historic building. Step inside and enjoy several gathering areas for reading, stunning or sports. Of course, the rooftop bar ranks among the best in the city.
Ambiance is a 10. Food great. Service good. Although valet very slow. Would have been better to park myself. Location can't be beat.
This is a beautiful building in a great location. One block from an el stop. The food here is outstanding and the Old Fashioned from the game room bar is worth a visit. I stripped a star off of my rating this time just because of a room mix-up on checking and problems with their elevators that we're less-than-convenient. I will definitely be back, though.
I went to the drawing room section. Ambience is awesome and it feels very intimate. I think service was on oar. I would go again.
Super cool aesthetic here . Love the large game room. Centrally located to great downtown dining and millennium Park
Beautiful hotel. Magnificent job with the renovation. An iconic and a hidden gem in Chicago.
Don t forget the game room!
They have some of the my favorite hangout areas in all of Chicago. The dark wooden decor, fireplaces, tables, lighting, and everything else make this a great place to relax, read, work, whatever.
My husband took me to Chicago for a birthday celebration. The Chicago Athletic Association Hotel is incredible. It has been restored beautifully. We went to each of the restaurants and they were all good and each had their own special flare. We went to the park across the street every day and went to the Art Institute of Chicago three days from 9 am- 5 pm and still didn't see everything. It was an amazing trip and I'm grateful to my amazing husband for the trip.
Picturesque views of Downtown Chicago at the chic Cindy's rooftop bar.
Great old-timey atmosphere. There were a bunch of games like shuffle board in the game room. The beer and mixed drinks we had tasted great.
Phenom staff. Great service.
Wow.
One of the coolest places in Chicago. Even if you don't need a hotel to stay at, this place still keeps things fresh enough for you to check out. What other hotel do you just visit for fun?!
Such a gorgeous and fun location. There lots of spots to get lost in, in the best way
really beautiful location. we were there for a wedding and it was simply gorgeous. the food was amazing and the staff was just amazing.
Used to love this place. Don t trust the staff and what they tell you about the games and when and how to sign up. Really disappointed.
My friend and I went to the Cherry Circle for drinks. The drinks were excellent and they had a good beer selection. It was fun but not too loud. You could hold a conversation. Would definitely go back.
They were very gracious. The event was a wealth of information.
Large group of us found our way into the Drawing Room for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres- nice comfortable atmosphere.
Good drinks, fun atmosphere, a little pricey but service is good when they're not swamped. Table game reservations are a little confusing, sometimes they're first come first serve, sometimes they're not. Just ask your server.
Amazing place with great cocktails and fun games like bocce ball and pool tables. The food was just okay in the game room.
Rooftop bar is amazing, overlooking Grant Park and the bean. Very cool place
They hid cat pictures throughout my room. That is SERVICE.
Great atmosphere, drinks, food, but the service was lacking. Only one server and one bartender for the whole room on a Saturday afternoon seems like poor planning. The service itself was very good, no complaints there, just that they were understaffed.
The Game room and Drawing room and stylish spaces with fantastic service and delicious food and drink options. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic service, facilities, and a great mood and feel really like what they've done with the place, will certainly come back.
Super busy, limited seating and bar food. Spend $45 on a pitcher of beer..
Very good hotel, nice location and good roomchamber, the only default is the breakfast is very small
Gorgeous classic old charm lounge room. Great crafted drinks. Just what we needed to cool down on a very hot day while exploring Chicago
Beautiful venue. Very unique design. Great drinks. It's an overall phenomenal experience.
Amazing rooftop view, great locatio across from Millennium Park. My new favorite in Chicago.
Very cool old hotel, saved by Pritzger family in 2011 and now owned by Hyatt hotel. Very nice rooms, reasonably priced, particularly with the wonderful location in downtown Chicago (right off Michigan Avenue, near museums, and short walk to beach, river, shopping, restaurants, bars, etc.
It's got outstanding old architecture throughout the building and the woodworking is of a quality level, I haven't seen in many years - beautiful!
The restaurant food is great and the bar/play area is a blast! Pool tables, massive bocce ball tables, etc. We had a wonderful time!
We had some business meetings and the meeting rooms were great, along with food/beverage service - better than any regular hotel we've used in the past!
I have never encountered a more helpful staff at any hotel I have stayed at in the past. I cannot speak highly enough about Deshia, and Sharita. They made my family very happy, beyond what a review nor words can describe. I just wish and hope the right person sees this review and gives them the credit they deserve.....
Location is great, because it's a hub but doesn't feel overrun by tourists. We got drinks at the Drawing Room and loved it. Good service, cozy atmosphere, very classic Chicago feel.
Cindy's is really fun. Great view. Long wait occasionally but worth it if you have the time.
Beautiful hotel, wonderfully appointed! However from the moment I checked in my visit was far from pleasant. I walked into my first room to find a man in his underwear standing there. Startled and confused I called my friend whose wedding was there that weekend to ask what to do. I took my key card downstairs and was given a new key. I was then asked what I thought they should do to make it better. After a long day of travel and a startling situation, I wasn't sure how to answer that question. I told the receptionist this and she tried to pass off the problem as the fault of housekeeping. I have a huge problem with this. I went upstairs to my next room and guess what? Someone was in that room as well. This was very frustrating as I had been on a flight all day and was trying to get ready for a rehearsal dinner for a wedding. They did make it right by upgrading our room. However, I am very disappointed to find out that one of the Grooms is being charged for two nights of parking to the room that I stayed in despite the fact that I flew in from Oklahoma City and did not have a car. He has contacted them and hasn't heard back so I hope they can make this right. I am not sure what's going on with their system but it seems that there is something very wrong.
Great atmosphere and location -- right on South Michigan Ave in the heart of downtown Chicago!
Amazing atmosphere with a ton of games and good drink selection. Bocce ball court was the highlight.
Incredible hotel and property. The room was really well designed and comfortable. The options for dining and drinks on the property can't be beat in Chicago. I will definitely be back!
A great place to sit down and take a load off after a days touristing around the parks.
Really interesting and unique feel at CAA. I highly recommend staying here when traveling for vacation/pleasure but due to the very low lighting in the rooms, I wouldn't recommend for work trips.
Great staff and atmosphere!!! Lots of history and attention to detail. You never really need to leave with the variety of restaurants and Cindy's rooftop bar. Huge bonus for staying at this hotel is the priority access to Cindy's!! The robes are the best and coziest I've ever seen!!
Fin place to drink eat and play an assorted array of games from your basic tabletop style games like chess and checkers to shuffleboard and billards. I was even quite impressed by the food they had along with the great selection of whiskey to include the all to alusive Japanese 12yr Yamazaki whiskey. People were great and the ambiance was fun.
I love the drawing room and game room. I had some time to kill before a flight and wanted to get some work done, so I camped up in the drawing room. It's the coziest damn place you can ask for in a big city for some peace and quiet.
Go to the bar of cindy's for a beautiful view and do not miss visiting the milk room.
The style and theme of this hotel is from another time. Very comfortable. Very stylish. Plenty of amenities. Amazing view of Millennium Park. Highly recommended.
