The dog park here is absolutely amazing. It is huge and has a lake where dogs can swim. The side facing the parking lot is fenced. The other two sides are really thick brush - couldn't tell if there was a fence or not because there is a ton of thick brush. The other side is all lake. I'm always a bit nervous at non-fully fenced dog parks but our dog stayed with us the entire time. It costs $2 per person to enter the park.

My husband and I are visiting from Florida. We were playing Pickleball with our son and his wife at Grand Oaks tennis courts. We used painter s tape to mark the kitchen line. Less than a third of the courts were being used. A representative from Charleston Parks and Rec came over and told us that Pickleball was not allowed on these courts. They didn t want Pickleballers to take over the courts. We were told that there were two Pickleball courts downtown. We removed the painter s tape and left.

Has Charleston Parks and Rec done a recent survey of the number of people who play Pickleball in this area? This is a popular sport with all ages. It has grown tremendously since the 90 s. Two courts downtown does not appear to be sufficient.

I've always been a fan of the Parks. The Greenway in W. Ashley was today's adventure when my bike's tire went flat. Matt, who works with the County Parks, was on his Sunday ride and pulled over to help me out. Kudos to Matt and all of the beauty we can enjoy!

I've lived in a few different places in my life, and no place has had as great of a country park system as Charleston County. The parks themselves are beautiful and very well maintained and the events and festivals are always fun!

I had to make a phone call to customer service because we had questions about the park but was blown away by how professional and helpful Manager Katie was! She was very quick and efficient, answered all of our questions, and showed us Charleston Hospitality! You can most definitely tell she has earned the title manager. 10/10 customer service.

My husband and I brought our two dogs to the dog park here. It was hands down the best park we have ever been to. There were over 100 dogs, all very friendly, and friendly owners. There are several acres of grass and three large beach areas for dogs to play in the water. There were also benches, picnic tables, a water fountain and hose pipe. We came down for the weekend from Columbia and this will be a must for all our trips to Charleston!
