I just experienced one of Britain s absolute best wineries! Having travelled globally around many wine regions I will find it difficult to find a better boutique winemaker than Charles Palmer Vineyards in Winchelsea. I was very fortunate to stay in their famous B & B Wickham Manor circa 1580 run by Sally Palmer whilst Charles Palmer produces amazing award winning sparkling wines along with their son and daughter. Do yourself a favour and try both the sparkling wines and stay at Wickham Manor.
Enjoy!

Very welcoming experience on a Saturday morning and lovely to see people doing what they love! Wines are very good quality and reasonably priced for the English Sparkling market. Worth a visit if you're in the area for sure.

We called into the vineyard with our dog, Archie, on 12 May and received a very warm welcome from Chantelle (we re rubbish with names, but pretty sure it was Chantelle!). I sampled a couple of glasses, both very delicious, whilst the driver had an apple juice. We took the self guided walk of the vineyard and admired the stunning scenery. I think we learned more about wine from Chantelle that afternoon than all of our other visits to vineyards - she was lovely and spoke about wine in a normal way, we were impressed with her knowledge. I d recommend a visit. Good luck with the wedding!
