The lecturers from the social work & community discipline are generally good. However, some lecturers from the management & psychology discipline, well... no comment. It's better to study psychology or management in other universities rather than CDU. Trust me or just ask other students. ;)

The overall experience was okay. I have no complaints from the uni campus and/or the facilities. My main complaint is directed to the lecturers that treat their students like children. They are very tight on the budget even though international students pay a fortune to be there. On service nights, coca cola is limited to one jug, same with lemonade and lift, no matter how big the group is on the night?????? Nobody ever drinks any of the lift so why bother to top it up each time why not simply replace it with Coke!? Has anyone missed the common sense approach here!!?? It just doesn't make any sense if you are paying so much on uni fees to be restricted to simple things like that which makes you feel unwelcome and unappreciated. The restaurant manager then, is able to bring home every opened red bottle of wine because ?????????
Not sure how they justify that considering the red wine would be still okay for consumption the week after!! There are so many rules for uni students that you feel you cannot breathe, its more like do as I say rather than do as I do sort of mentality. Towards the end of the semester then, you will have to attend the overall cleaning of the uni classroom as well as the training restaurant area, and here is the most ridiculous rule, if you don't show on both cleaning days, you are not entitled to your tips!!!!??? As if the tips were in any way related to the cleaning of the facilities, tips are made on the basis of a high standard of service provided to restaurant guests, which ironically should be well known by someone who teaches hospitality.

Other than the comments above the lecturer should have an understanding of didactics. It appears that there's an industry background/knowledge but a lack in the understanding of didactics which sets a fundament for teaching quality. On a final note, less students would be afraid of her and return to class without feeling pressured. All of our Australian co-students left and never returned to class, as the school/uni principal I would start wondering why!!! The only reason international students stay is the fact that they have paid a fortune in $AUSs prior to the course and would rather stay in the country. An appeal to the uni principal to perhaps introduce an anonymous feedback form to all students..the results may surprise some...

Very Bad Teaching style

Very Bad Teaching style
Really bad teaching method
Poor quality in teaching skills of CDU teachers
The Worst Australian Univeristy

Althought The international students paid lots of money (~70,000 AUD), CDU provided only Indian, Filipino, pakistan teachers with very bad English Accent/skills and poor teaching quality which made us many difficulties in understanding the entire lessons and really made us stressed out!

The only thing you can learn here is how to abuse advantage of monopoly... CDU don't have any competitor in NT.. so they never try to change or improve their disrespectful staffs/teachers even more than thousand of students complainted every day very week every month every year...

Disgraceful in every sense.

Disgraceful in every sense.
Do not even contemplate this educational facility.
Teaching staff are rude, disrespectful and the complaints system unilaterally supports teaching staff well in advance of complainant. Basically, good teachers are not interested in working here and qualifications for existing and retained staff (albeit a high turnover) reflects upon quality of education and student experience. If you don't want to end up with having to approach Anti Discrimination NT for court procedures or failing courses which you would easily pass elsewhere with adequate teaching, then do not engage this facility at any level. I have studied at a variety of educational facilities across Australia since 1986 and this facility is not a good experience. Ask many others and get a feel for public opinion; you will find many similar experiences.

I am all for diversity, however University is not something that should be easily accessible and should be for those willing to put in the hard yards to get into. Unfortunately this institution lets anyone in that can pay or even those that graduate Highschool in Australia on a very low ATAR. Despite low amounts of enrolments they should still maintain high level standards of entry to the top professional areas (i.e Law, Medicine, Engineering etc).

I am an international applicant to apply PhD there. Its international officer didn't reply my email or several days for replying one email. I have to dial their phone to urge and consult them. Sadly, they even can't speak decent English, the accent is heavy. Should not the officer work for international student speak a very good English with standard pronunciation?

CDU offers a range of undergraduate degree courses from nursing and science through to business and law. The university also offers flexible study options, including full-time, part-time and online education. State-of-the-art facilities, quality teaching and solid student support are just some of the few things that CDU can offer.

Horrible, most lecturers are rude and not helpful, like they have a chip on their shoulder. I asked for feed back on an assignment and that took 3 months. Lecturers showed bias toward a certain group students, I have a year left on my degree and will be going elsewhere.

I was finishing my journey smoothly with CDU as an external student while juggling with other matters. However, I encountered real problem when I approached to find my placement as an external(Interstate) student.

Half the time the lectures do not listen to the request you are making, they understand more about a book than real world scenarios. I've had one really good lecturer, but the rest have been average at best.

A new international students of master of accounti...

A new international students of master of accounting in the first semester at CDU, I am very disappointed about the CDU teachers and their teaching styles.

They are all international teachers from, for example, India, Russia or Philippines which make students very hard to listen and understand to their extremely bad English accent and voice We paid a lot of money to study here (Over 65,000$ fee for 2 years which is larger than the fee of Group of 8 (Australian Universities)) and we do not expect/accept to study with these teachers; We desired to be taught by 100% Australian Teacher/Lecturer/Professor.

Furthermore, their teaching style is very bad, they teach and talk a lot of unrelated things and don't go straight to the lesson; Their presentation slide design is also very; All we need is simple teaching style, for example, Our lecture today is about:....; Main point is....; First, I will talk about (Definition) and give simple example; Second, third. That s it, It is very simple for international student to understand.

I look forward to seeing the changes in the very near future!
