My husband goes here, he is so pleased with Dr. Ranjan and his staff. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The onsite pharmacy makes it really convenient to pick up prescriptions. They are great with appointment scheduling too, they get you in right away and have flexible hours. Highly recommended.
Worse people to go threw. If you or your love ones have any mental health issues please do not go here. No communication, the people there just don t care. Please don t suffer more by going here
Some of the employees should be working in a box somewhere not people. And some employees are the best, ever.
I have a mixed review for Charak. Let's start with the good: they were easy to get an appointment with, and did not make me jump through hoops like other mental health facilities did. Everyone I've come in contact with at Charak has been friendly and professional. I think they do truly care about their patients well-being, and they were able to prescribe me medication to help with my condition.
Now the bad...recently there have been severely long wait times when having appointments. You will start with seeing a student, and then that student reports to Dr. Ranjan, who will when meet with you. The time between meeting with the student and seeing the doctor has sometimes lasted an hour.
Also, I returned to Charak recently after having seen a different doctor for about a year, and my medication was immediately changed because the Dr. didn't "like" the medication I was on. I understand his reasoning behind it, but I was thriving on that medication, and when it was switched I took a downward turn. I had to once again leave Charak and find a new doctor that would put me back on the medication he removed me from.
Doesn't return phone calls for appointments, doctor was always late to my appointments (Garfield location)
In response to the owners response to vinny dewildes review: your staff did not have an emergency the day my husbands appointment was bumped, they outwardly admitted that they made a mistake in scheduling and somehow his appointment was erased. It is sad to respond to someones review with invalid facts to save face from a negative review that is clearly warranted from an error your staff made, we would have much rather received an apology.
The only reason I continue to have business with Charak is because of Angel Rucker. Other than that the whole place infuriates me. The therapist I was dealing with didn t listen to my feelings and tried to put me in a program that I didn t need but assumed I didn t because of my demographic background.
More recently, I was told that something that needed to be handled urgently couldn t be handle because it was too early in the day and they weren t ready to handle it, despite me saying it was an urgent matter. I was told I wasn t being understanding to the fact that they weren t ready to do it.
Very disappointed and won t be recommending.
This place is horrible they never answer the phone or return your phone calls. The NP my niece sees is rude and dismissive when you try to express your concern. The only good person is her therapist. DO NOT recommend this place.
Peaceful environment here. The Doctors and nurses are beyond kind. They even offer convenient virtual appointments and give the option for case managers, which seem to offer a lot of help for people who need them.
Cons:- Their case manager Scott Wells who was assigned to me without ever explaining to me what a case manager does kept wasting my time by calling me everyday sometimes more than once a day when I was in college trying to do homework and just kept making me doubt myself by constantly saying I was going to fail and drop out and I had to threaten him numerous times with restraining orders before he stopped harassing me. Joseph Globeckar was also very pessimistic and discouraging in how he talked to me and he made a mistake in giving me direct release tablets instead of extended release tablets the only time he met me. They also waste your whole day every time you need an appointment by scheduling an appointment at a certain time and then regularly showing up 15-20 minutes late.
Pros:- Enjoyed my sessions with Deborah Devlin who is genuinely very helpful and makes my day every time I get to talk to her. I liked Robert Brauer and Marie Thompson as well although Marie Thomson also gave me the wrong dosage of abilify once. They get you your appointments reasonably quickly and actually give you the choice of which medicines you want to take which is a very nice thing.
Overall, more bad then good in my time here. 2 stars out of 5.
EDIT:- One star, deborah devlin is a horrible self absorbed narcissist who constantly says I am incapable of getting a phd because I am not as smart as her. Marie Thompson is an even more egregiously pessimistic person who not only says I can never get a phd but also says I am a horrible human being. Never going back.
