It's a mountain hut. Clearly. But it's very nice and the hosts are friendly. The food is perfectly fine and also plentiful. What should be clear is that it doesn't have a shower. The washing in the basin in the toilet is also a bit cool;) It is more of a hut for climbers. As a hiker you feel alone. Until the first conversation. Finally it's ok, German only with the host himself. They speak Franz on site :)

Sumptuous setting. What a pleasure to enjoy a well-deserved refreshment there after a nice walk. Access to this property is facilitated by an assembly road from the car park. (August 2020).

A restaurant-cottage in the heart of the mountains, quite easily accessible on foot (mountain road, a good hour walk from the parking of Sattels, accessible from the village of Jaun). The staff is welcoming as it should be in this type of establishment. The dishes are worthy of a restaurant of good category.
Those who love the mountains must visit this place!
Trail and experience to do at least once. The food was very good, but it's hard to be objective after a long walk. The boss agreed to do our dishes while the kitchen was closed, great!
The chalet lives up to its name, with a reception worthy of a barracks. Unfortunately with COVID measures which are applied to the letter, the waiting time is exaggeratedly extended for ordering a dish, not necessarily up to the expected time. On fine days, there is too much crowds. Prefer a picnic!
Arrival yesterday, good surprise at the Regiment is the first day of opening for the Holidays. A great pleasure to be warmly welcomed with top-notch snacks.

A nice walk through the pastures leads into this chalet at the foot of Gastlosen. And after a few climbing routes, the beer on the terrace is a must. The staff is friendly and the view, the view!

Its surroundings give many opportunities for hikers to access. Not too far, not too difficult, just too much
Too bad. The reception has become unacceptable. The waiter is allowed to shout insults at the half of the terrace. I politely pointed this out to you. I took it badly because here I took it for my grade. With all excuses you went out on the terrace to say "That all the people who were not happy could go back to the plain".
Certainly the situation is not easy. Working personally in sales, I know what we are talking about. But please take a step back.
I thought it was just a bloodshed. But to see the last comments it becomes a little repetitive.
Please. Come back as before. Welcoming smiling and give us a little piece of body from the Alps.

Very nice place, very traditional and with good food
Wonderful place to come and sleep after a long day of walking. Night in a fairly comfortable dormitory and nice meal in the evening. Good breakfast included in the morning too. COVID rules are strictly enforced and that's good.
On the other hand, the price of bottled water is clearly exaggerated and no drinking water on site. After drinking all our water during our 24km walk during the day, having to pay 11 CHF per 1.5 liter Henniez bottle is quite painful. I hope that a water filter can be installed soon to change this system or reduce the price of water to a reasonable amount ...

The manager is unpleasant with all his customers explaining that he has invested more than CHF 6,000 and that no one respects anything. It is unfortunately unbearable to have a drink or eat in this establishment because the atmosphere it creates makes you want to leave. Too bad because the view is very beautiful is after a long walk, we often dream of having a good time.
Very good fondue with homemade bread over a wood fire. Too bad they do not accept credit cards
