Very good visit in an impressive cellar with tasting of many 1er Cru.
Very good visit in an impressive cellar with tasting of many 1er Cru.
Unmissable castle for those who love Burgundy !!! The visit to the cellars is impressive and steeped in history.
Nice place, tour with tasting 25 euros. Tasting is excellent opposite the entrance at a small domain (beautiful wines) and not a 25 euro tour
It is not possible to taste the wines before buying without paying for a tour in the afternoon.
For bottles about 50 euros I would hope to make an image before purchase ...
We went at 10am, 21 to test Meursault and visit the castle, not necessarily want to drink wine at 10am which forces us to consume! We are distributed .... Beautiful garden
Very pleasant visit to the castle of Meursault, very friendly guide and teacher. I recommend tasting great terroirs.
Interesting visit, but price overrated. Uninviting wines for those who know Burgundy and the quality of its wines.
A very interesting and enjoyable tour, with a knowledgeable guide who touched on the history of the castle and the property as well as the different local grape varieties. During the visit we cross the different cellars and we can admire the reserves of bottles and casks during aging. The tasting is also enjoyable, with explanations of the names of the wines and their construction.
Bottles on the other hand will not be within the reach of all budgets: count 30 minimum for a bottle.
Visit of the cellars very interesting because allows to present the Burgundian climates. Tasting of excellent wines including several 1er crus and nice surprises.
We did a guided tour with the winetasting for 22 . The tour was well structured to get a good overview over the winearea and the different wines! The tasting was well done as well! You get to keep the wineglass and tjey helped to pick the right wines to pick. Out of the 3 Tastings and tours we did this weekend this was our favorite!
Fantastic tour with a tasting of nine different wines from the region
Very good visit of the cellars and wine tasting of the house. Guide very pro and nice. We had a great time. To note no pressure for the purchase of vine what is appreciable.
Unmissable visit if you like internationally renowned grands crus and beautiful cellars
Nice visit of the cellars with wine tasting of the castle.
I only have one word ............................ Mr. A. G. N. F. I. Q. U. E
Thanks to our guide for the 3 p.m. visit on August 20 ...
An enthusiast who tells and explains her job with a lot of love.
Thank you for this very nice tasting.
Visits very informative for we do not know the region and the "hierarchy" of wine. The tasting is also very good and varied.
Beautiful cellars ...!
go for the wine cellar tour, it is gigantic and worth the photo-opp. The wine for us not so much but like all of Burgundy it is up to your pallet. PS they let you keep the wine tasting glass
The visit of the cellars is very spectacular.
We eat at the Goutte d'Or, that's fine.
Very nice cellars with a great guide for the visit and tasting! Young and friendly team
We had an unforgettable moment with Basile who accompanied us during this high-flying tasting!
An interesting tour that gives a very good introduction to Burgundy wine. Chateau and grounds are very impressive. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, and spoke good English. The cellars are very impressive and the tasting at the end was very enjoyable. Would have scored higher but the wine was expensive, considering the tour was paid-for and you are visiting the cellar door.
Still a nice place for a tour and tasting. Recommended.
Great wine tasting and learning experience. A very knowledgable lady performed a tour with teaching of terroir influence on wine. It was my first experience in how wine taste varied according to terroir and yearly climate. Highly recommend. No purchase pressure.
Very interesting cellar visit and a tasting with professional explanation all the way.
Very beautiful chateau, good wine and a magnificent cellar.
Visit interesting cellars. Tasting session too. Very nice home
Wonderful tour, well narrated but DO NOT BUY THE WINES TO BE SHIPPED! We were there in 2014 and tasted the 2009 and 2010 white and red Premier Cru's which are made in a more "new world" style (mature earlier) and bought a case to be sent back to the states. They were shipped and I have kept them in a very good wine cellar that keeps wines at 50 to 58 degrees F. I recently( May/2019) opened one of the reds and was extremely disappointed. It was extremely thin with very little in the way of a nose, and lacking any body or taste at all. The wine was not vinegary so it not gone bad but was worst than any "2 buck chuck" my father-in-law- gets at a Trader Joe's. 2009 was considered an excellent vintage so by process of elimination it was either a fault with the shipper, the importer (hopefully no fraud was involved)or possibly the wines are just not made to be drunk after 5 years of the vintage. We also bought some Premier Cru 2010s from Chateau de Meursault as well as some Premier Cru 2009s from some Cote de Nuits producers so those might give us a clearer picture. A 9 year old bottle of supposedly Premier Cru level burgundy should be better than this! EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. ---On the other hand I highly recommend a visit to a little wine shop in Beaune called Mon Millesime, for a vintage tasting, to find out how fabulous older(35-15 years) Burgundys (both red and white ) can really taste!
Visited in May 2019. We were in the Beaune area for a few days and dropped by. The Chateau and grounds are simply magnificent, and a self-guided stroll around the property, brook, stone walls, 1757 Ceder tree (CEDRE du LIBAN), wall of roses, vineyards and surroundings was precious. Inside we met several hosts who were very educated, informative, friendly, and took the time to answer all of our questions. They allowed us to sample several wines and educate us about the particular fields and soil where the grapes were grown and regional wine map. The cellars were the real deal. Great variety and price points for the wines. Although we had not planned to purchase wines, we ended up shipping 6 bottles back home, and purchased a few to take with us and enjoy. What a truly unexpected and delightful experience. This was one of our highlights in the Beaune, and not even a planned trip. We had a rental car which gave us the opportunity to leisurely explore the area, and this was a gem. Walk the property, talk to the hosts, explore the Chateau, and try some wines. What the joie de vivre is all about. Thank you to everyone at the Chateau the Meursault. Very enjoyable and highly recommended.
For this tasting with a very good adviser
.
Scornful staff, at the price of the visit we would expect a home a minimum pleasant, it is not worthy of a big house.
The visit of the winery and tasting at the end is very nice to do
Smiling staff.
Visit with a passionate person, a treat.
Interesting tasting.
To recommend
Thank you
Very nice place with a superb cellar. The wines should be tasted to see if they live up to their reputation.
A magnificent cellar!
A pleasant, professional welcome and a passion conveyed by employees!
A tasting that does not leave indifferent ...
In short ... I invite you to go!
Stunned by the haughty and extremely contemptuous side of the reception staff.
Experience lived on April 17, 2019, you enter, a hostess hurries to take refuge in a back room while her 2 colleagues are on the phones and pretend they can't see you.
When one ends up hanging up, the latter looks at you with contempt, without even saying hello, walks around the counter to greet friends. After 10 minutes someone is finally worried about your presence.
But here it is I who no longer wish to pay 24 per person (there were 5 of us) to visit and taste ... nothing very professional or very noble in this welcome.
We had already visited this place 4 years ago, the reception was more pleasant at the time, and had enjoyed the tasting, bought wines, but over time, only the prices have increased.
I loved visiting the castle with its cellars and after the wine tasting tour
Excellent tourist and taste experience. The visit went very well with a lot of information from our guide who enlightened us on the complex classifications of Burgundy wines and what makes their particularities as well as on the history of the castle. An excellent closing tasting allowed us to discover some nectars as well as the old Marc of the castle. Very interesting !!
We booked a tour here with great anticipation. The cellars were awesome but really the only thing worth seeing. The guide wasn't fantastic and gave very average answers to questions, as if they didn't actually know what they were talking about. The wine was okay but overpriced compared to other wines in the same region. Would not return but if I did it would only be for the cellars.
The quantity of wine per glass for the tasting was very little. (Especially for a paid tasting!) The quality of the wines were disappointing. There was only very little guidance in the tasting. The wine was poured and you were left to taste it for your self. Usually you get some info on what experience the particular wine brings. (Maybe a preference thing.)
We booked the big tasting. We got to taste 8 wines plus their Marc de bourgogne. The tasting glasses are gifted at the end, which is quite cute. The tour through the cellar is pretty and informative. But for people who know how wine is produced nothing new. I liked that there was no pressure to buy anything in the end. The guide was friendly.
All in all, ok visit but not worth the money (especially if you come for the wines).
Visit of the cellars very nice, good explanations and small tasting that is worth the detour
Had a nice tour here with nice wines. You pay for that, but you get value for money. Recommended to also bring some nice bottles;).
In this area the large wineries are among the best in the world. Nice visit with tasting of their white and red wines. Excellent labels. There is something for all budgets but quality costs but is worth. Attention to the vintage.
Impressive cellars and great explanations by our tour guide. Costs 26 with 9 wines to taste.
Very good reception but imperative reservation for the visit => Covid.
Visit at 25 euros. Impossible to taste a wine without paying the visit. So why not. Except that if you do not book you do not visit and therefore you go elsewhere. The next day you come back because your thought of More
Tasting rather disappointing. We had tasted the Grands Crus. 9 wines are served including 3 grands crus. We were treated to small vintages without chips sold at high prices. On the other hand, the visit of the cellars was very interesting.
They offered a very nice tasting session. Highly recommend a visit!
Make a reservation. Good, explaination and tasting. Beautiful estate. Impressive vinoteca too if you have some money to spend..
Thanks to Yannick for his welcome, his explanations and the tasting session. A great family experience!
Great service! We won't attend a guided tour(our child was really tired about all this wine tourism) and asked to try some wines. It was completely free, there were three gran cru among them - really great tasting compared to many popular touristic places with tastings. Took away a box. Must visit for wine lovers. Thanks a lot for a guy who spent around 45 mins with us - told a lot about the region and different wine appelations.
Beautiful place, a magical brand and a very friendly team.
This chateau has an astonishing cellar of felt-like a square kilometer in the underground you should make the guided tour through. Thousands of wines from more than 50 years and hundreds of barrels. The following wine tasting could even convince me as a red wine fetishist that there can be awesome white wines. Definitely worth a recommendation!
Thanks to Nicolas for this cluster of information during our tour of the castle's cellars and tasting. A great time!
beautiful cellars, excellent wine but expensive entry without group rate, and wine tasted very limited compared to other more generous cellars.
Very impressive cellar! Wines for tasting were a hit and miss unfortunately.
Have a picnic! Save some euro and purchase your food at a market and bring it with you. You can tour the caves, taste wines then buy your favorite for your picnic. They have a good range of wines at various prices, so there is something for everyone. The chateaux is conveniently within easy cycling distance from Beaune through some of the famous Burgundy vineyards.
Superb estate and cellar to visit as well as a very accessible wine tasting
Very nice visit with very pretty cellars the oldest dating back to the 12th century enjoyed the tasting of the different white and red wines we learned about the vinification of Burgundy wines we will be less novices on the choice of the purchase of future wines
Place for tourists
Lots of wines available
Acceptable welcome no more
