Central Reform Congregation: A Vibrant Urban Jewish Community
Central Reform Congregation is a vibrant urban Jewish community located in St. Louis, Missouri. The congregation is dedicated to supporting one another in holy ways, pursuing justice and lifelong learning, and providing a shelter of peace.
The congregation was founded in 1989 by a group of individuals who wanted to create a welcoming and inclusive community that would embrace the diversity of the Jewish people. Today, Central Reform Congregation has grown into a thriving community with over 500 member households.
At Central Reform Congregation, everyone is welcome regardless of their background or level of observance. The congregation offers a variety of programs and services for people of all ages including religious services, educational programs for children and adults, social events, and opportunities for social action.
Religious Services
Central Reform Congregation offers weekly Shabbat services on Friday evenings as well as Saturday morning Torah study sessions. The services are led by Rabbi Susan Talve who has been with the congregation since its inception. Rabbi Talve is known for her engaging sermons that connect traditional Jewish teachings with contemporary issues facing our world today.
In addition to regular Shabbat services, Central Reform Congregation also celebrates all major Jewish holidays including Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Hanukkah, Purim Passover and Shavuot.
