The Tain l'Hermitage cellar offers an attractive range of wines from the region. The tasting area (the bar) is quickly taken by storm, so do not hesitate to make your way to access it. Possibility of having selected wines delivered to your home with a special mention for the Cornas!

Disappointed with the service here. We arrived to taste and purchase a few wines from the region. We tried to converse in our basic French and had some initial success. However we were only served 2 tastings in 30 minutes and felt generally ignored throughout our visit.

Welcome to this cooperative cellar. A few people but the service remains very good (especially with the departure of certain groups). Elegant and light white wines. I preferred the reds.
Do the hike to the chapel in addition: nice point of view.

A very beautiful cellars, modern and authentic at the same time. Tasting, advice, visit, purchase ... Remember to look under your feet: we see the chaix through plexiglass windows. There are all the prices: affordable for a Syrah of table (nice and quality) or a Croze 1st price up to several tens of euros for a hermitage.

We were on a private tour with a knowledgeable guide from Lyon's Kanpai Tourisme. The Sommelier kept bringing out wine after wine from the Northern Rhone Valley. We must have tasted 15-20, vs a norm of 5 or 6. Even with spitting and dumping, pallete fatigue was inevitable.

Very unfriendly staff. So cold place !!! What a pity ... super disappointed ... my partner and I with a drink asked to taste ... (and the intention to buy) poured without smiling, in no comments !!! The person stayed behind the bar without looking at the ground ... wow !!! No more words, nobody asks us for anything ... no better for other people in the store who wander ... we left ... as fast as we came!
I find it sad.

An essential place for anyone who does not have the address of a producer given by a friend in confidence. The tasting was all the more pleasant that apart from the usual advice and information, the person behind the counter - a priori the manager - did not hesitate to tell us about his personal tastes and to take out bottles. present on the official map.

Impossible to find the Tain l'Hermitage cellar without its GPS. After a maze of streets where you have to turn right or left, the cellar is finally there. There is just enough parking, but the essentials are inside, the wines are displayed in a conspicuous place, and then the 2 young ladies present this Monday morning are very competent, love the terroir, give good advice, are at home. listen without forcing the sale. I really liked the information and directions. Yes, this wine sales address is to be recommended on your holiday route and then the hills on which the terraced vineyards stand are worth a look.

Great place to buy your wine directly from the producer. The staff is very helpful and allows you to taste almost any bottle you want before buying. It is also a great day out . They have some much older bottles but these are very pricey.

Cave de Tain L'Hermitage: A Legacy of Sustainable Viticulture and Exceptional Wines

Since 1933, Cave de Tain L'Hermitage has been a renowned producer of exceptional wines, with a strong commitment to sustainable viticulture. The company's story is one of family spirit, exceptional vineyards, and world-renowned wines that are appreciated by wine lovers around the globe. With a rich program of oenotourism throughout the year, visitors can experience the magic of Cave de Tain firsthand.

The History of Cave de Tain L'Hermitage

Cave de Tain was founded in 1933 by Louis Gambert de Loche, who had a vision to create exceptional wines from the Hermitage hillside. Over time, his passion for winemaking was passed down through generations and today it is still run as a family business.

The company's philosophy is based on respect for nature and sustainability. They believe that great wine comes from healthy vines grown in harmony with nature. As such, they have implemented sustainable viticulture practices across their vineyards.

Exceptional Vineyards

Cave de Tain owns over 300 hectares (740 acres) of vineyards across several appellations in the Rhône Valley region. Their flagship vineyard is located on the famous Hermitage hillside which produces some of France's most prestigious wines.

The Hermitage hillside has been recognized as one of France's greatest terroirs since Roman times due to its unique microclimate and soil composition. The vines here are planted on steep slopes which provide excellent drainage and exposure to sunlight resulting in grapes with intense flavors.

In addition to their Hermitage vineyard, Cave de Tain also owns vineyards in other appellations such as Crozes-Hermitage and Saint-Joseph where they grow Syrah grapes for their red wines along with Marsanne and Roussanne grapes for their white wines.

World-Renowned Wines

Cave de Tain produces an impressive range of reds, whites, rosés along with sparkling wines under various labels including "Grand Classique", "Les Hauts du Fief", "Saint-Joseph" among others.

Their flagship wine is undoubtedly the Hermitage Rouge which has consistently received high ratings from critics worldwide due to its complexity and depth. It is made from Syrah grapes grown on steep slopes overlooking the Rhône river giving it an intense flavor profile characterized by black fruit notes along with hints of spice and leather.

Another notable wine produced by Cave de Tain is their Crozes-Hermitage Les Hauts du Fief Blanc made from Marsanne grapes which have been aged in oak barrels giving it a rich texture along with aromas of honeyed fruits like apricot or peach combined with floral notes like acacia or honeysuckle making it perfect pairing for seafood dishes or creamy cheeses like brie or camembert.
