Catawba valley medical center Review

I went to the emergency room 9/16/2021 due to COVID like symptoms. There was a girl that greeted my boyfriend took his temperature but did not take mine. I was called into triage was weighed asked why I was there. I explained still no temperature was taken. Then was taken into a room where I am guessing a Dr came in listened to me breath checked my ears asked to open my mouth barely looked at my throat and ears. Advised my lungs seemed pretty clear but ordered a chest x-ray. He left a girl came in did the x-ray once the Dr saw the x-ray and got the COVID test back he came back to the room advised no need for oxygen called me in some eye drops for infection and just said yep you have COVID stay home if you feel worse come back. Still NO TEMPERATURE WAS TAKEN. Very confused if this is so serious why was I treated so non chalantly. I'm confused...

Me and my family will be filling a complaint against this hospital! IF YOUR CHILDREN OR INFANT IS SICK, DO NOT BRING THEM TO THIS HOSPITAL! They gave us a false diagnosis regarding my little niece. Wake Forest Baptist hospital told us that the baby is healthy. No severe problems that would cause her to go to ICU! Just an upset stomach. STAY AWAY FROM CATAWBA VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER. TAKE YOUR KIDS TO WAKE FOREST BAPTIST INSTEAD!

The ED receptionist (working betqeen 15:30 and 1800 on 8/32/21) was amazing! I'm sorry that I can't remember her name, but she was so kind to everyone with whom she interacted. You could tell she was trying to move quickly, even though they were obviously really busy.

I would give them a -10 if I could . I called the ambulance to come get me I was in so bad of pain from an operation earlier that day they made me sit out in the emergency room in a chair hollering and pain and still didn't take me back. And then had the nerve to somebody come on the intercom saying we need to be quiet I'm in the most pain I've ever been in I should have had a room immediately I didn't see anyone else there and that type of pain worst Hospital experience I've ever had if you need a hospital I would travel an hour away to Wake Forest Baptist Medical before I would set foot in here again

My sister had outpatient surgery today and I was so impressed with the care she received. The nurses and the whole staff kept me informed on the progress of her procedure Nurses took excellent care of her !!!

My wife and I recently had our first child in the birthing center and couldn't have asked for a better experience...staff was great but the nurse Claire that stayed past her shift just to finish delivery since she had been there through most of it really stood out to us. She and everyone else made it as smooth as possible!

Day surgery staff was very professional and friendly. All hospital employees I encountered very pleasant and helpful. My sister has cerebral palsy and the staff went the extra mile to accommodate her. Dr. Ross team is top notch. Facilities are clean and well maintained in appearance. Highly recommended.

I think these people are amazing, knowledgeable, kind, and very considerate. Would not think of going anywhere else in this area if I have a choice. I have had dealings through the emergency department and the infusion department. Great People!!!

My husband and I recently had the need to visit Catawba Valley Medical Center and we cannot say enough good things about our experience. Everyone was kind, helpful and efficient. The management staff, all the way up to Sherry Richardson, VP, were volunteering their time on a weekend to keep up with the numbers of people who need help. It's evident from our experience today that leadership starts at the top and that's why Catawba Valley Medical Center will always be our first choice.

I brought my 6-year old granddaughter in last night; she'd swallowed a nickel. The staff moved us through quickly, contacted the pediatric GI specialists at Brenner and sent us on our way. They were kind, they were professional, they were thorough. I wish the people in the waiting room had been more respectful of Covid protocol, but we picked a spot to wait that seemed safe and was nearer to people who were masked and supportive. Well done to the PA Leo (don't know his last name) and all the staff who helped us.
