Cheap crap, rented at high prices with zero support.

Few years ago I had a new build place in Granton run by these guys. We complained about the badly fitted bathroom, whose floor started to fall apart with dampness, we managed to get that replaced when mushrooms started to grow. We complained about the upstairs neighbour who continually flooded us, destroying our ceiling. About the neighbours dumping stuff in, around the bins, their house, our house, everyones house. We reported all the crap fixtures breaking and showed that they weren't over or misused.

The rent went from 510 to 720 in the 4 years we lived there.

When it came time to leave we wanted our deposit back. We took good care of that house. So we listed all the things we wouldn't fix and that they were supposed but refused to. We bought a carpet shampooer and went over the place a good few times till it was sparkling. We sent them images from move in date and more from move out date to prove it was in a good state...other than said issues supposed to be in their responsibility.

They docked nearly the entire deposit for carpet cleaning.

I've asked castle rock edinvar many times to stop there employees or who ever they have employed to deal with work in our building to tell these people to stop pressing my intercom buzzer to gain access to the building I'm a split shift worker so I need to have a couple of hours sleep before I go back out to finish my second half of my shift and yet here we are again stir cleaners are pressing my intercom buzzer again this is the last time I will give access to the building when I'm working. And not only that we used to have a camera on the outside of the building I did ask when castle rock edinvar might be fixing the camera at 47 waterfront avenue Edinburgh eh51jd but that's been at lest 8 to 9 years ago and the camera has still not been fixed we're ment to feel safe in the building that we live in but with no camera on the outside of the building that is clearly not possible. Castle rock edinvar keeps putting the rent up but they can't fix the security camera on the outside of our building. Or they send threatening letters stating that I haven't paid my rent last year then it turned out that I was actually in credit for nearly a months rent I never once received an apology for that mistake.

Castle rock edinvar worst company ever.

I've been on my phone for an hour waiting on someone to answer my call so that I can rearrange another appointment for my gas safety check to be carried out and still ongoing as castle rock edinvar has let me down twice already this is completely unacceptable to keep someone on the phone that long this has got to be the worst company I've ever been with in regards to answering calls . I'm not waiting anymore I've got to leave my flat to go to work now. I've already sent a complaint into castle rock edinvar . The best part about all of this is that they have the cheek to blame the customer because the gas safety check has not been carried out but it's there fault for not answering customers calls.

I accepted a property in moredun, and got keys 13/01/20 and moved in next day. 3 times so far my property has been targeted/attacked from youths, and I found out from 3 neighbours youths in area are really bad. I've never lived in moredun before, and I wasn't aware of any problems here. I've been told attacking properties and drugs has been a problem in area, but it had calmed done (although it started again). Police are'nt interested and fobbed me off, and now housing are'nt bothered either. I can either stay where I am or I can live on streets after giving 28 days notice, as far as their concerned. My latest problem has been with lock on my front door.... When I lock my front door when I'm going out, 3 times my door has been unlocked when I get home (so far). Housing claim door lock was a new lock and keys, but if so.... I haven't given anyone a key, so how was my front door being unlocked? Now I'd need arrange a joiner come out and me pay for a new lock, which won't be cheap . They also seem hate phoning people back, even though they arrange a callback.

Good luck trying to get repairs

Good luck trying to get repairs

They will expect you to sit in the house for several hours waiting on them when they give you a time like between 11am and 5pm (closing time so you can't even phone when they don't turn up) had a repair appointment get bailed on three times now, and they blame you for it, threatening to forcefully enter the property. I want the boiler repaired. You're welcome to come in if you actually send someone willing to put the work in. This time I sat and watched the repair van pull up and watched him sit on his phone and eat packets of crisps and sandwiches for over 40 minutes before pulling off, didn't even try to make contact. They will lie and say you weren't in when really they are just taking multiple lunch breaks and then going home.

Thought it was bad when it was just Edinvar sad to say it only got worse as it went.
It's better than living on the street is about the nicest thing I can think to say.
Repairs are a joke
Problem neighbours are the norm
Staff are the worst of all. I can't even speak tohousing officer or his boss they are that bad.

Absolute shambles of a housing association. Paying full rent each month, yet they can't even turn up to a repair job? I've been waiting months now. Repair guy keeps claiming no one was home when it's a total lie. Plus, they are supposedly a 'charity' yet they charge extortionate amounts just to book a repair which they failed time and time again to turn up for! You couldn't make it up!

Utter disgrace. We (my wife and I) had to jump through hoops with background checks etc. Lied to about the type of neighbours who would be in the stair. We were told they'd be professional people like us. That was a lie. They are professional drug dealers and miscreants, and the housing association has done zed all about it. The police are never away from the place. I will never recommend this mob to anyone.
They're going to have to improve massively and realise you can't put rubbish in with decent honest folk. It just doesn't work. Until they get that, I recommend that you avoid them at all costs.

Long waits ob their phone line are nothing compared to the long waits for actual repairs (usually 3 weeks wait). The main problem is though, that they do not actually turn up at all to perform the repairs. We've had this several times now that a repair was booked in but then no one showed up. Different agents on the phone say different things in regards to these incidents, just central incompetence. Avoid like the plague.
