This was a fancy Italian restaurant for a date night. The risotto was a little salty for my taste, but the eggplant parmesan was good. I expected this place to have a younger crowd being so close to the CU dorms, but surprisingly it was not like that.

We bombarded the place for a large to go order for a progressive dinner group date. Although it was stressful for them, they handled it very well. A waiter met our group outside the restaurant and treated us respectfully and quickly. We greatly appreciate the way they handled us despite a full restaurant on a busy night.

The food was amazing. We enjoyed and shared our meal with vigor. Having last visiting Carelli's to celebrate our rehearsal dinner five years previously, we decided to include this memory with our wedding party for our 5 year anniversary celebration. We had rented a party bus as a surprise and passed around excellent appetizers and meals on the road. Thank you for being part of our parties.

We were in Boulder for 1 night and our hotel recommended this restaurant. We lucked out! The food was delicious and it had great ambience with 2 fireplaces. The house wine was reasonable and very good. Our waitress (NIchole?) was perfect. She was helpful with our selection and knew just the right times to check on us. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

My experience was not good. The food was good but the service was terrible. I was by myself and the bigger groups seemed to have good service. It took 15 minutes to get a drink refill. I would love to but can't recommend this place.

One of the last remaining authentic "old Boulder" experiences in town. Don't be thrown by the location (a strip mall across from CU dorms): this is a classic (and classy), family-owned and operated Italian eatery with fantastic food, friendly service from long-time staffers, a great bar and a cozy ambience. The cocktails are well-made, the pasta perfect and the pizza, while a little pricey, is the best in town. Period (and I eat a lot of pizza). Local secret: Carelli's also makes one of the best burgers in town. Don't delay. Try Carelli's today.

Reliable spot for Italian. It s been in Boulder for as long as I can remember. It s located in whats kind of a low brow strip mall next to a CU dorm, but don t let that fool you. It s a very nice place with good Italian staples plus something for those don t eat much pasta, with steaks and grilled fish options.

Blonde hair blue eye guy handling the curbside delivery today had horrible customer service and awful attitude towards us. It was completely unwarranted and because of this, I will give my business to another establishment. Not worth my time.

Really not good food and forgettable service. We were seated near the kitchen and could overhear conversations that were inappropriate. Nonetheless, it was pretty crowded so I guess some people like it. The fireplace was a nice touch on a winter evening.

Best gluten-free pizza in town. But that's not all - the Happy Hour wines by the glass are legit. As is all of the food on their menu, from the truffle fries to the lobster risotto.

Bartenders here are very good at their jobs, knowledgeable, friendly, and professional.

Beautiful outside patio area and beautiful interior.

The BEST Italian restaurant in town! Their Eggplant Stack is fabulous along with their Salmon Caesar Salad!! Oh, and try the Lemon Drop Martini, YUM!
Of course they have dessert, but their crepes are excellent & you get to watch them make it (if you sit close enough). On occasion the chef will make the most WONDERFUL Lobster Mac & Cheese appetizer! Rave reviews all around.

Great service, but mediocre food.
Feels a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. The veal scallopini was bland and watered down. The experience was a bit disappointing as a whole.

Big portions of good food abound at Carelli's. My favorite is the pollo ala carelli. The two fire pits, both inside and outside make for nice seating. One of my favorite italian restaurants in Boulder

Carellis of boulder is excellent. When I am in Boulder I like to go to the Flagstaff house for drinks and the view then down the mountain to Carellis because I love great food at a reasonable price. Also the owner Mr. Carelli is very personable. He comes and greets his customers when he is not too busy, often sitting with them and testing their food to make sure its just right. Boulder Icon. Do not miss it.

I recently had dinner here and inadvertently left a water bottle that had sentimental meaning to me on the table. When I realized my error I called - the person answering the phone was curt, short and rude and did nto seem to care that I left something of personal value at the restaurant. She was more concerned with how busy it was then to even see if the lost item could be located.

Our go to before a Buff game. Excellent food, fantastic service and beautiful place. Steak Vesuvio is always good if you not in the mood for pasta, but the pasta dishes are my favorite. Highly recommend

Always a great place to go for a nice dinner. The decor of the place is kind of romantic and the service in the place is very good. They have great pizzas and pasta but my absolute favorite are the spaghetti and meatballs, simple but full of flavor. Drinks are also good but they might need un update in the offerings of beers

Mediocre service. Poor seating layout. Some of the food was really good and some of it was marginal. I will give it another shot as they had a large group thing going on in the other room that may have had an impact on the service.

As a vegetarian, no Italian spot in Boulder compares to Carelli's. They are famous for their outstanding service, and gorgeous ambiance, but after paying them a visit, they also have and exceptional selection for vegetarians and carnivores alike. I highly recommend their fettuccine alfredo and life altering-ly tasty garlic bread.

We ordered the Pesce Asiago and Tri-colored tortellini for curb-side, the flavors in both were perfectly balanced. The seafood in the Pesce Asiago was cooked perfectly for a to-go order (scallops were Extra fab). Great customer service, value and quality. We just moved to the area from New Hampshire and this is the best Italian/Greek food we ve had so far (5th Place we ve tried for takeout).

They were very, very busy Saturday evening. My son and I got the last two stools at the bar. The young bartender waiting on us was outstanding. He went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and very timely. He must have noticed that my 19 year old son was looking "hangry" and made sure that he had a bowl of garlic bread right away. It was not just us, either. He took care of everyone at the bar that way. Food was excellent and we will definitely go again when in Boulder. Great experience.

I have been eating at Carelli's since I was a little kid and the food is very delicious - my favorites are chicken saltimbocca, angel hair con clam and penne pizziaola. The cocktails are also delish! The atmosphere is beautiful, especially in the summer when the entire bar area is open-air.The only downside of this place is that it is constantly busy...But it makes you feel special when you get a spot! Thanks, Carelli's, for consistent good times!

My husband and I took our daughter and her boyfrie...

My husband and I took our daughter and her boyfriend here for her Grad school graduation. Very slow and inattentive service! Took a full 30 minutes for our one appetizer to arrive. 15 minutes later another appetizer arrived with 'our compliments'. We instantly felt better until, after one of our group sampled it, it was quickly grabbed off the table as it was meant to appease another group. We didn't get a chance to tell our server that the appetizer had been already sampled. Our main course took about 40 MINUTES to arrive and all four dishes were not good. My husband's Chicken Saltimbocca had very rubbery and undercooked chicken. My Mussels were very fishy and 'off-tasting' and others who sampled it thought something was wrong with it. My daughter's boyfriend ordered his favorite dish of Chicken Piccata. When his dish arrived he didn't start eating. When we asked why, he was actually waiting for the chicken portion to arrive separately! Guess what? There were a few meager chicken pieces buried within the dish so that was it! He was so disappointed. My daughter had the tortellini. After we finally left, she started getting sweaty and did not feel well. She was up all night with horrible diarrhea. To add insult to injury, there were some random items plopped on our table by other staff members...napkins and extra water glasses. All four of us felt it was one of the worst restaurant experiences we have ever had. The food poisoning issue is a serious concern. Our visit was on 5/8/2019.

We loved this place in the late 90's and early 2000's. Since then, not so great. They have always have had stellar cusine, but we had a couple of bad experiences in 2005 and we stopped frequenting Carrelli's, due to reservation mix-ups, slow service, and bad service. We decided to give them a second chance tonight (3-17-2018), but deja vue all over again!
We made a reservation for a booth, but we were seated at a table. Service was slow and surly. The Fromage (Cheese) Special, at $10.00, had 2 small slices of cheese with a couple of pepprocini and some mustard--I feel ripped off! Long story short, We didn't really feel the love. I recommend you go to Carraba's where the food is as good as Carrelli's, the service is way better, and the price is half.

We came in after a symphony concert. We had drinks and food and at the last call I simple asked for a glass of water. It so happened that I was looking at the lady I asked water from. I saw her went up there the bar and grab a random water glass, poured the water half full and added ice. When she came back and handed me the water I checked the rim of the glass and sure enough there s lipstick mark! Unbelievable!!!! This is so CDC violation!!! This is how people could vividly get contagious diseases and other cross contamination conditions. This is u acceptable for a renowned restaurant. Very unpleased! If this restaurant Operates with a surveillance camera. Please checked 7/18/19 at around 11:20pm. You will see what I mean! I got up and went to the bar and asked for another water.

Food was good. Poor service, wish the chef was the server. Our server was not helpful and he was not hospitable, he made us feel as if he was anxious for us to leave. We have not had this poor of service here before.

Attended a wedding party celebration. Had as appetizer the fried calamari, delicious. The menu choice item I picked was the chicken piccatta. It was unexpectedly peppery over this same dish at other Italian restaurants. I liked it but some did not. I do prefer a more lemon butter flavor in the sauce.

When I go to a restaurant, if the place looks and feels amazing the food has to be delicious. Today Carelli's didn't let us down. Me and my husband rushed for a quick lunch which was very delicious. Our awesome server Christian treated us like family. I appreciated every minute of our time there.

Great service and excellent staff. Took out the family (8 of us) for a relaxing dinner evening and couldn't believe we spent 2 hours. A quiet and comfortable place to enjoy conversation and great food.
