Cardinal scale is a locally owned company... They will hire you and work with you... they are very active in the community and support Webb City and the greater Joplin metro area... It is a great place to work and an even greater place for a long-term commitment...6 stars
Most buildings are older and in poor shape. Low pay and too structured.
The good:
The work here is good and respectable. It is hard work but if you're used to working hard, you'll feel good about what you've done at the end of the day.
Fellow employees are generally easy to get along with and most are helpful.
The pay is really good for the area. I made the most money in one year here than any other company I've worked for around here.
The bad:
Don't get hurt while working here. You will feel pressured to continue working and not report any injuries for fear of retribution.
There are a lot of shady people working here. Can be very combative at times. Keep your head down and do your work.
Management needs a HUGE overhaul. Lots of megalomania. It starts with middle management all the way to the top. Nobody cares what you think or feel. Very much stuck in the 1960's. Luckily, there are plenty of desperate people living in the area that need a paycheck.
Dress for the weather outside; they have a hard time holding on to employees, so even if you normally work indoors, you may be working outside doing another job so that you can get the things you need to do your own job. Also, the walls are in such bad shape in parts of the building that you can see outdoor light through them. In the winter, those areas are so cold that you're practically working outdoors.
Conclusion:
Take the good with the bad. Normally, I'd say that this place would be a good jumping-of point until you find better employment. In this case, it doesn't really apply as I've found that most employers in the area work in a similar fashion. Overall, the job outlook for this area of the 4 states is pretty poor.
