My family and I have been going to this place for years now. The food is always fantastic, it's both filling and fresh. The staff anytime I've gone have been really friendly and helpful never had a problem. The place itself is a great experience as there is so much history and different eye catcher's on the walls. I'd suggest on holiday's such as Christmas, new years, mini marathon ect booking an appointment in advance as the place can get packed quick but other than that most other days can be okay to just walk in. But if you haven't been I highly recommend going. Anyway hopefully this is some help and happy eating.
Food was good twice when I was here and good portions.
Went Saturday 21st of September for my grandmothers birthday, my wife got Cajun chicken burger and just as she was about to bite into it I noticed it was a bit pink, on further inspection the whole inside of the chicken fillet was raw and uncooked, won t be going back there to be poisoned
Love it. Lovely food great atmosphere and lovely drinks. Goes down a treat
Good portions and good food. They have a 10 lunch menu but if you search online you can find buy 1 meal get 1 free vouchers so 2 meals for about 15. They also have 4 pints of beer for students Mon-Wed. A Dublin classic spot.
Food was only ok which was disappointing usually quiet good...no windows or aircon in extreme heat and busy restaurant
Very poor, had to leave after 15 mins as nobody approached the table. Nobody even noticed we were leaving.
Big portions for a reasonable price. Really enjoyed the food and the staff were lovely and attentive!
Always loved this place, server was excellent, burger was a bit dry, I guess mince was too lean, otherwise great
Good place to go with children. There are large tables, high chairs, colored pencils for children to paint while they wait for food, children's menu ... The food for normal adults, one of the dishes we ordered was fine, the other regular, we found them a bit bland, but correct.
My favorite restaurant in Dublin. If been here many times before and recommend it to all my friends! Food & drinks are superb. And the service on of a kind!!!
I went here last week with my friends, when the food arrived our chips were cold, we had also ordered cocktails which mine tasted just like cranberry juice! However, the fajitas were quite good! When it came to pay for the bill we had our student cards in which on the back clearly says 4 cocktails Monday to Friday and we had asked for the student cocktail menu also when we sat down and therefore were expecting this to be the price! When we went to pay for the bill the woman was extremely rude and started taking a photo of my student card saying how this was wrong and we should have known this, then when we stated what we had to eat as we were paying individually she said I don t care what you had to eat, tell me how much you want to pay while there was a calculator in front of her which she could have used to tot up the bill as other restaurants kindly do! The woman appeared to be in a managerial position and we were highly disappointed with how we were treated! Most definitely will not be returning again!!
My favourite place for a burger and do such amazing nachos . It is also a friendly and pleasent environment
Loved the food as always enjoyed the fried egg burger
Nothing special. I went there expecting an impressive burguer but it wasn't really special. A bit pricey for what it is - I can get the same thing at Bunsen or Eddie Rocket's.
Unbelievable, if your on grafton Street and hungry this is the place to go!
Excellent menu with loads of choices, it's a little bit pricey but very reasonable for what you get.
Have no issue in recommending this restaurant, staff are very attentive and friendly.
There's no on street parking but it is on a pedestrianised street.
Really dated. Hasn t changed since the 90 s. that goes for both decor and food. One of the rudest waitresses I ve ever come across. We all got the idea she thought she was doing us the favour just serving us. Had to send back a salad as no dressing. Got order wrong for two meals. No apologies made. Stay clear. There s lots of other much better options locally.
Nice food, brought back memories as a kid going here as a birthday treat !
Sadly Seems to have not kept up with the times....Food not great..very less than average...toilets not working
Big place, vast menu options, good for families and groups. Food was tasty, we all enjoyed our meals.
Little interest in burgers, dry without bad flavors. The frozen fries I do better at home.
Big portions at a great price and free soft drnk refills. Also has student deal. Love the sundaes too especially the cookie one
Loud and always bust during peak times. Service is very quick and food is always good
Food is average. Family place and student drink deals. Wouldn't come here again.
Super good, you can sit in the bar and drink beer. But also good and reasonably priced food
Good food, staff are alright but the restaurant can get busy and load.
The Cheese burger is absolutely perfect, very nice place and decoration.
Lovely atmosphere, but food was basic! Staff were lovely but mistakes were made wit our order and was very slow!
Worst fast food in Dublin city. All burgers are burnt to a crisp, the chips are minging. This place survives on tourists who will never come back.
Yesterday was our first time to step into this place, you'd miss it since the entrance is just a doorway.
Place is clean with lots of memorabilia to look at.
Delicious food and inexpensive lunch deals.
Our waitress was lovely and made sure we were cared for. Keep up the good work.
Won t ever be eating here again. A group of 11 of us came in today after completing the Women s Mini Marathon. The place was busy but we were in before the rest of the crowds! We waited a while for our starters which wasn t too bad. We were left to wait over an hour with empty plates in front of us and no one had received their main yet. 2 of the girls at our table where given their order BY ACCIDENT. It was meant for another table but just so happened t be what they had ordered. The 2 girls had finished their food and sat there for 20/30 minutes and the rest of us STILL had not been served. I reported this to 3 seperate members of staff and nothing was done to speed up our service. 3 seperate times we were offered someone else s food rather than our own. In the end myself and another girl were the only 2 left waiting on our mains and in the end we had to cancel our main courses. Will never be back to this KIP
Great food, fascinating place to explore, friendly staff and right in the heart of the city. Great outing for a family or similar.
Friendly staff and great atmosphere thought it tends to be busy. The food is tasty and they have a fine selection of alcoholic and nonalcolic drinks.
Service a bit slow menu not as good as it used to be
If you're craving American style food in Dublin and are also a huge Marvel nerd, this is the place to go, its a little pricey, but worth checking out nonetheless.
Nice place with great potential but my burger was raw in the middle and chicken we ordered also had blood all inside it. Chips were nice though.
Over priced, poor quality fast food and 7.80 euros for a 3rd of a glass of house wine, lovely staff though, pity about the food, never again. AVOID
Decent food. Used the 3 network buy one free one meal.
Great food. Can get busy so expect waits. Pleasant staff.
Amazing food and fabulous staff. Vanessa made sure we had everything we needed and more, an angel. Will definitely be back!
Fantastic place .
We eat very well (Recommended burgers). And the decor knows Irish pub. If you review was at least useful, please leave me a like. Thanks and see you soon.
Ambience looks great and the food is also well presented.
Only if you love spices in your food, then you should leave it. We were 7 people and nobody really liked it, so without salt. Soda is just syrup too. We had burgers and fried fish. I won't even start with the fried fish ...
Sorry, I know the Irish don't season much, but I don't understand the other recessions.
Food service was really quick even though they were busy
Great food! Kind and friendly staff with a vibrant atmosphere. Strong recommend a visit. James was amazing and a great help
It is what it is, burgers and chips. Lots of choices, good service. It's not high end food but it is good fun.
Been coming here for years and the food is always great!
Fantastic selection of dishes, great cocktails. Family friendly and plenty of seating!
Food is out quick enough and portions are a great size.
Good kids menu with colours.
All the signed photos and items on the walls are great
Ah, Captain America's. If you're a child of 80's Ireland, this restaurant is the very zenith of awe struck cool. The name. The association with America, a mystical place where everything good comes from. The paraphernalia on the walls from all the best bands and celebs. Did U2, Guns N Roses and Paul McGrath actually set foot in here?! Surely they must have. Their guitars and jerseys are on the walls! And the food. Burgers, ribs, fries. This place has got it all!
Cut to 2018. And nothing has changed. Same stuff on the walls. Whitney Houston stuff. Some video magazine. Remember videos? Yeah, they died in the 90's. And I'm pretty sure the food we got served was also prepared in the same era. We were a party of about 30, a mixture of kids and adults. We arrived in Cap's at 6pm,having booked a table. We were seated pretty quickly and our orders were taken by a really young, and friendly team of waiters. Can't fault em. They were great, and worth the tip. The food, however. Good christ, it was shockingly bad. Warning bells went off in my head when the first plates, main courses, arrived after 10 minutes. Burgers and fries, the usual fare. My own two kids' plates came next. Two servings of cold fries, one serving of molten hot chicken nuggets and a cheese burger so cold, the cheese practically fell off the leathery burger, still in grated form.
My plate of ribs and a baked potato... And I use the word baked under advisement. The ribs were pretty unappetising looking, though I'll give Cap's this. There were an incredible amount. But they tasted as good as they looked. Like death. The potato was actually cold in the middle. I don't think it spent enough time reheating in the oven. Or at least could have used another minute in the microwave. My wife's enchilada was a congealed mess of cheese and red sauce that actually made her envy my ribs.
The final insult was the prices. For such a godawful meal it was astronomically expensive. For a restaurant so firmly stuck in the 80's, the prices weren't.
Shockingly bad. I'm giving a star to the wait staff. Like I said, a really nice bunch of people. But damn, son. That food is gnarly.
Love the food here. Always try and stop here when I can.
14.95
No covered
Free water
Horrible food, expensive and a waste of money, also the service is really slow, never going there again.
Should have more tables and seats instead of having to wait for people to leave to even sit down for your booking?.
Four stars.
The food was good here, but it was hugely busy...
Burgers, burgers and more burgers! Much better places available. Jaded and stuck in the past. Poor service.
Great food.
Tried twice this year and wasn't disappointed. I think they have new chefs in. Wings, burgers and fajitas were incredible!
The staff are very helpful, the food is good. My one complaint is they never give enough meat with the fajitas.
Amazing food amazing service amazing atmosphere. Would come back to Dublin just to come back here
So my boyfriend and I used to come here like once a month and loved the place. I reviewed this place 5 stars 9months ago because of how much we loved it, but have now decided to change the stars as the last visit we had.
My favourite was Cajun chicken wings and the girl serving told us they dont do them anymore.
The whole menu is a disaster and everything i used to love and order before is gone.
Very simple and boring.
Pastas gone, half the chicken dishes gone, pizzas gone.
Such a pitty. And for a small glass of coke that's mostly filled with ice is like 3
We were seated down the end in this tiny little table hidden away from everything, the table was was wonky and kept moving side to side which was really frustrating and the ground under our table and chairs was absolutely soaking my boyfriends gym bag and the end of my jacket was ruined, took the girl 10mins to come to us and then she apologized and wiped half the floor with our napkins and then left us again without taking our order for another 10mins. Then when we finally got our food because we were stuck in a tiny corner we couldn't get anyone's attention to ask for napkins or hand wipes.
Place has gone so downhill.
Really disappointing experience. Won't be back again unless the old menu is back.
Staff were helpful, food quality not greatest and it was quite slow to get food
Excellent nachos - but when they say to share, they mean share! Really accommodating and served food really quickly
I took 5 friends to eat there at the National Burgers Day. All the burgers were served well done and tasteless. Besides, none of the waiters were aware of the promotion (2 burgers for the price of one) and we had a lot of trouble to pay the bill in the end because one of our friend went home earlier and paid her part. Which led to a confusing explanation from the waiters that now we lost one of the pairs of the promotion. There were 6 burgers, so we should pay for 3. But, as she left and paid before us, one of the 2 for 1 promotion was cancelled. It took us quiet some time to make the staff understand how wrong that were. At the end they fixed that like they were doing us a favor.
