My family and I have been going to this place for years now. The food is always fantastic, it's both filling and fresh. The staff anytime I've gone have been really friendly and helpful never had a problem. The place itself is a great experience as there is so much history and different eye catcher's on the walls. I'd suggest on holiday's such as Christmas, new years, mini marathon ect booking an appointment in advance as the place can get packed quick but other than that most other days can be okay to just walk in. But if you haven't been I highly recommend going. Anyway hopefully this is some help and happy eating.

Went Saturday 21st of September for my grandmothers birthday, my wife got Cajun chicken burger and just as she was about to bite into it I noticed it was a bit pink, on further inspection the whole inside of the chicken fillet was raw and uncooked, won t be going back there to be poisoned

Good place to go with children. There are large tables, high chairs, colored pencils for children to paint while they wait for food, children's menu ... The food for normal adults, one of the dishes we ordered was fine, the other regular, we found them a bit bland, but correct.

I went here last week with my friends, when the food arrived our chips were cold, we had also ordered cocktails which mine tasted just like cranberry juice! However, the fajitas were quite good! When it came to pay for the bill we had our student cards in which on the back clearly says 4 cocktails Monday to Friday and we had asked for the student cocktail menu also when we sat down and therefore were expecting this to be the price! When we went to pay for the bill the woman was extremely rude and started taking a photo of my student card saying how this was wrong and we should have known this, then when we stated what we had to eat as we were paying individually she said I don t care what you had to eat, tell me how much you want to pay while there was a calculator in front of her which she could have used to tot up the bill as other restaurants kindly do! The woman appeared to be in a managerial position and we were highly disappointed with how we were treated! Most definitely will not be returning again!!

Unbelievable, if your on grafton Street and hungry this is the place to go!

Excellent menu with loads of choices, it's a little bit pricey but very reasonable for what you get.

Have no issue in recommending this restaurant, staff are very attentive and friendly.

There's no on street parking but it is on a pedestrianised street.

Really dated. Hasn t changed since the 90 s. that goes for both decor and food. One of the rudest waitresses I ve ever come across. We all got the idea she thought she was doing us the favour just serving us. Had to send back a salad as no dressing. Got order wrong for two meals. No apologies made. Stay clear. There s lots of other much better options locally.

Yesterday was our first time to step into this place, you'd miss it since the entrance is just a doorway.
Place is clean with lots of memorabilia to look at.
Delicious food and inexpensive lunch deals.
Our waitress was lovely and made sure we were cared for. Keep up the good work.

Won t ever be eating here again. A group of 11 of us came in today after completing the Women s Mini Marathon. The place was busy but we were in before the rest of the crowds! We waited a while for our starters which wasn t too bad. We were left to wait over an hour with empty plates in front of us and no one had received their main yet. 2 of the girls at our table where given their order BY ACCIDENT. It was meant for another table but just so happened t be what they had ordered. The 2 girls had finished their food and sat there for 20/30 minutes and the rest of us STILL had not been served. I reported this to 3 seperate members of staff and nothing was done to speed up our service. 3 seperate times we were offered someone else s food rather than our own. In the end myself and another girl were the only 2 left waiting on our mains and in the end we had to cancel our main courses. Will never be back to this KIP

Ambience looks great and the food is also well presented.
Only if you love spices in your food, then you should leave it. We were 7 people and nobody really liked it, so without salt. Soda is just syrup too. We had burgers and fried fish. I won't even start with the fried fish ...
Sorry, I know the Irish don't season much, but I don't understand the other recessions.

Ah, Captain America's. If you're a child of 80's I...

Ah, Captain America's. If you're a child of 80's Ireland, this restaurant is the very zenith of awe struck cool. The name. The association with America, a mystical place where everything good comes from. The paraphernalia on the walls from all the best bands and celebs. Did U2, Guns N Roses and Paul McGrath actually set foot in here?! Surely they must have. Their guitars and jerseys are on the walls! And the food. Burgers, ribs, fries. This place has got it all!

Cut to 2018. And nothing has changed. Same stuff on the walls. Whitney Houston stuff. Some video magazine. Remember videos? Yeah, they died in the 90's. And I'm pretty sure the food we got served was also prepared in the same era. We were a party of about 30, a mixture of kids and adults. We arrived in Cap's at 6pm,having booked a table. We were seated pretty quickly and our orders were taken by a really young, and friendly team of waiters. Can't fault em. They were great, and worth the tip. The food, however. Good christ, it was shockingly bad. Warning bells went off in my head when the first plates, main courses, arrived after 10 minutes. Burgers and fries, the usual fare. My own two kids' plates came next. Two servings of cold fries, one serving of molten hot chicken nuggets and a cheese burger so cold, the cheese practically fell off the leathery burger, still in grated form.

My plate of ribs and a baked potato... And I use the word baked under advisement. The ribs were pretty unappetising looking, though I'll give Cap's this. There were an incredible amount. But they tasted as good as they looked. Like death. The potato was actually cold in the middle. I don't think it spent enough time reheating in the oven. Or at least could have used another minute in the microwave. My wife's enchilada was a congealed mess of cheese and red sauce that actually made her envy my ribs.

The final insult was the prices. For such a godawful meal it was astronomically expensive. For a restaurant so firmly stuck in the 80's, the prices weren't.

Shockingly bad. I'm giving a star to the wait staff. Like I said, a really nice bunch of people. But damn, son. That food is gnarly.

Great food.
Tried twice this year and wasn't disappointed. I think they have new chefs in. Wings, burgers and fajitas were incredible!

So my boyfriend and I used to come here like once a month and loved the place. I reviewed this place 5 stars 9months ago because of how much we loved it, but have now decided to change the stars as the last visit we had.

My favourite was Cajun chicken wings and the girl serving told us they dont do them anymore.
The whole menu is a disaster and everything i used to love and order before is gone.
Very simple and boring.
Pastas gone, half the chicken dishes gone, pizzas gone.
Such a pitty. And for a small glass of coke that's mostly filled with ice is like 3

We were seated down the end in this tiny little table hidden away from everything, the table was was wonky and kept moving side to side which was really frustrating and the ground under our table and chairs was absolutely soaking my boyfriends gym bag and the end of my jacket was ruined, took the girl 10mins to come to us and then she apologized and wiped half the floor with our napkins and then left us again without taking our order for another 10mins. Then when we finally got our food because we were stuck in a tiny corner we couldn't get anyone's attention to ask for napkins or hand wipes.

Place has gone so downhill.

Really disappointing experience. Won't be back again unless the old menu is back.

I took 5 friends to eat there at the National Burgers Day. All the burgers were served well done and tasteless. Besides, none of the waiters were aware of the promotion (2 burgers for the price of one) and we had a lot of trouble to pay the bill in the end because one of our friend went home earlier and paid her part. Which led to a confusing explanation from the waiters that now we lost one of the pairs of the promotion. There were 6 burgers, so we should pay for 3. But, as she left and paid before us, one of the 2 for 1 promotion was cancelled. It took us quiet some time to make the staff understand how wrong that were. At the end they fixed that like they were doing us a favor.
