Great record store. Lots of selection but doesn't feel over crowded. Love this place!

This is the best record store in Baton Rouge. Hell best record store in Louisiana. It's a great place with a great vibe. VERY organized and easy to find things. They have a wonderful selection and fair prices. I have gotten amazing record finds including limited edition vinyls. They staff are ALWAYS so nice and helpful. Anytime I've needed help they have always helped and known exactly where everything is and when they didn't have something they even made sure they would get one in on their next shipment. Amazing people, amazing shop. Would 100% recommend this place.

Great record shop. I took a bunch of old vinyl in and got a good amount of store credit. Chatted with owner for a long time and he was happy to answer all of my questions. Very happy with my new vinyl and all of the advice.

Fantastic customer service!!!!!
Staff is very knowledgeable about record players and their collection. I was able to ask the clerk about their inventory and received prompt answers. Once I got home with some records, I found one of them skipped. I called the store immediately thinking it was a defect. The clerk was more than happy to exchange the record, but he ask what type of record player I owned and suggested a fix to the solution. He was correct. It was my record player and not the vinyl. The clerk was very nice and patient. I can not wait to go back to purchase more.

Kinda hard to find but, if you're into vinyl, this is the place to be.

My new favorite record store. Dana, the owner, is a music-lover s treasure trove of knowledge. He can guide you to whatever you re looking for, though he really doesn t need to, as the store is meticulously curated. Everything is logically organized and labeled in a way that makes sense and is incredibly intuitive to newbees. Best of all, Dana prices his records at almost unfairly-to-him reasonable prices. And his collection includes some serious gems, even in just the new releases; he has everything I can t find anywhere else. There s nothing quite like finding a place you feel a home with a guy who could easily become one of your best friends, and that s Capital City Records and Dana. Do yourself a favor and find yourself here soon. Or don t, and leave it all for me. Thanks, Dana.

This is my kinda record store, putting out a variety of music, letting the variety speak for the store as individuals and their love for music. Spent hours in here digging, very organized and you know what era your in once you start till you finish. Doesn't hurt they hold hardcore, punk and emo albums and pretty much everything else but feature those three that I'm usually looking forv and can't seem to find. Y'all should do a spin night/DJ sets some time, a hardcore,punk and emo night would be sick.

You have to see for yourself, it's an experience!!!

Capital City Records is by far my favorite shop to get vinyl. Mr. Dana is very knowledgeable about all genres. Always have a great experience and conversation with him, and the best deals in Baton Rouge!!

Absolutely love this place. Got two special edition records that were out of print for the original price in this store, which went for over $100 each online.

The guy that runs the shop really knows most of the records in his store because he orders them himself. He gives great recommendations, and you can always have a good conversation with him about pretty much any band and his store. He s not some hipster trying to follow the latest fad. Highly recommend!

What a great selection Capital City Records has! The warm atmosphere and the fact that you're bound to witness a good joke from the owner always keeps me going back. Not to mention, they've got some of the best deals that I've found! Love this place. :-)

Great variety of albums new and old. Excellent selection on bargain vinyl. Even has some CDs and 45s. I go there from time to time to find some hidden treasures and rebuild my vinyl collection. Definitely recommend.

Friendly and knowledgeable owner and staff, honest and fair pricing if you have music to sell, great selection, great finds, rarities and an overall fun place to do business. LPs, 45s, CDs and vinyl / stereo accessories as well.

The proprietor is a very nice and knowledgeable guy. I highly recommend shopping around, you will probably find something you think is cool. I just left with some negative approach and minor threat so you know he s packing heat.

Great layout and a very impressive bargain section...honestly the bargain section is half the reason I love this place. You can find so many unique gems and wacky randoms.

I m only 11 years old, and this is by far the best record store in town. The owner Dana is a great guy who knows his stuff about music and vinyl. Great prices and great staff. I come almost every week if I can. Will come back.

Definitely my favorite record shop! I frequent this lovely shop for many reasons. The owner is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about anything you have questions about, there is a very good selection of every genre, and they also have many rare vinyl! Every time I go in I have to keep myself from emptying my wallet.

Organized but pricing is a bit high. Location could be improved. Selections not as good as your competitor On Coursey Blvd where pricing and selection are incredible. I will still recommend to others about your location and allow them to make there own decision.

Fantastic little vinyl shop. They have a great selection from new artists to classical composers. The staff are friendly and helpful and the have measures to reduce the number of customers in the building at one time.

Beautiful layout, well organized, excellent selection of new and used records, fair prices. Friendly service. I was only in town for a couple of weeks on vacation but I can t wait to go back.

You'll be hard-pressed to find a place that has as many records as this place with the character to back it up. It's a shame it's hidden in the corner of that lot, but every time my girlfriend and I go in, we both feel like we stepped out of heaven. The guy there is so damn cool, and extremely, extremely knowledgeable about pretty much every record in there. And if that's not enough of a kicker, the records are not at all expensive, and you can even find a lot of them cheaper in here than online. One of the few places you can find Interpol, Pantera, Anti-Nowhere League, and Love and Rockets in one place.

They have an amazing selection, great prices, and the owner is really friendly!
