When I was a student at CCA I would dread going to school. At least once every two weeks I would fake being sick so I wouldn't have to go in / I would be allowed to leave early.
I'm so glad I enrolled for a sixth form elsewhere; I genuinely don't think I could get through another two years without having a mental break down. I am currently achieving really good grades in my A Levels at a college I actually look forward to going to in the morning.

Horrendous school with terrible security and staff that doesn't investigate incidents to the full - excluding children based on accusations and no real evidence, not to mention the overpriced food and lack of counsellors.

First of all, might I mention the breach of security that took place last term on the schools Sims servers. Sims is the software the school uses that contains the students and staff medical information, addresses, special education needs, sanctions and merits. Initially all staff are assigned the same generic password as the students, and are prompted to change it to something personal that is unique and can't be guessed. The issue here is, barely any of the staff decided to change their password (the same one students are given to access the computers) thus allowing the students to access all the personal information of their peers and teachers.
When this came to light to the senior leadership team, however, they decided the best course of action was to disciple and exclude the students (most of which didn't even go on Sims, merely had the login details told to them by fellow students) instead of disciplining the staff. The students will now have limited 6th form and college opportunities due to the exclusion on their record, all due to the staff being impotent.

Initially, my daughter was very happy to learn she had earned a place in the Academy's Capital 6 Sixth Form.
However upon receiving the "new and updated" dress code, she has revoked her placement and will be attending elsewhere.

From a school that quotes on their website that they "recognise everyone as an induvidual", this new 'Business attire' dress code contradicts that. Some of these things include: Boys to wear ties with their shirts, suits, a blazer and only dark coloured trousers. This is supposedly to help them achieve their full potential, but if that were the case they would have qualified teachers instead of the substitutes that have been covering for weeks, if not months.

As a past member of support staff at Capital City Academy I can honestly say that the passion and commitment of the staff is second to none. I felt extremely supported throughout my time working at the Academy and was given the opportunity to get involved in some fantastic opportunities being more involved with the students including taking part in two World Challenge expeditions to Uganda and Swaziland. I also worked closely with the Parents' Forum who worked tirelessly to support the Academy and give parents a voice. I am lucky enough to still be involved with Capital; it is a fantastic school. I would recommend any prospective parent or student to visit the school and see for themselves first hand.

Here is a snippet from a recent email from a current Year 10 parent. I think it sums up perfectly the supportive and dedicated nature of the staff at Capital -

"I had the pleasure of talking to Miss Maaroof who took time and interest in all my questions. I would like to say that it has been a long time since I have met a teacher who was so supportive and so kind. She is willing to give her time and already told her students about next year's revision. I hope that Miss Maaroof will stay for a longtime."
