My girlfriend and I just had our first baby there on the second and all of the staff was exceptional. They answered every question we had being first time parents, they explained EVERYTHING they were doing to her AND our newborn, they responded promptly to the call button, they kept up with the check ins, went above and beyond to be gentle and helpful. They all had smiles on their faces and were willing to help in any way possible.
First experience here, as we are from Massena and tend to go to MMH most of the time. My daughter was sick and needed to be admitted today and the ER staff has been beyond great! All the people we came in contact with treated us very well and were very friendly- especially the nurses Pam and (I believe his name was)Jesse. I also feel that the doctors and nurses were very thorough in their assessment of her condition and made me feel like she was in good hands. I will definitely consider coming back here in the future...
This hospital has gone down hill ever since David Acker took over. He doesn't treat the workers right. I've seen day's a CNA has had the whole floor. Sixteen rooms and two patients per room. Mr Acker doesn't care all he cares about is making money instead of the nurses,cna,and other workers.
Very organized and welcoming. Observed Covid-19 safety during my tests while remembering that I'm still a human with feelings. Many businesses should adopt this type of attitude!
I went in for minor surgery and ended up staying six days. The food and hospital doctor was okay. The nurses, aides, phelbotomist (people who drew blood), specialists, dieticians were awesome. Even at their busiest times, the nurses and aides didn't lose patients with people. They were professional at all times.
The level of unprofessionalism and rudeness at this place is astounding. My 74 yr old mother was told to go out in the vehicle and wait for my dad to finish his appointment. She asked kindly to be allowed to stay inside. They rudely refused and made her go back outside, to the vehicle in below freezing temperatures. She went to the vehicle but could not turn the key in the ignition due to severe arthritis in her fingers. She sat in the vehicle shaking from the cold until my dad came out over an hour later.. This was detrimental to her health and very uncaring on the part of the hospital. My mother is in very weak health already due to a severe heart attack she suffered 3 yrs ago.
waited two hours for a drug screening and service barely works there. they said they would get me in sooner cause the nurse was still on lunch break but that never happened. if i didn t need a job i definitely would ve up and left.
Worst Hospital in the north country. Go to Adirondack in Saranac Lake or Samaritan in Watertown.
The infusion room has changed and I feel like I am in a broom closet!! Patients deserve better than this!!! No space. No music no television one to two nurses doing their best in an uncomfortable place. Adirondack Medical Center has a wonderful place! This is quite unacceptable and disheartening!
My wife just came back from a COVID test. She has had 2 previously with no problem. Today's swab was performed by an LPN who apparently does not know how to do it gently (as the others had done). Now, a few hours later she tastes blood, has exceptional irritation pain, and now is suffering from a headache that she did not have before the test. This has not happened any other time. The person in the car ahead apparently saw the LPN who was going to do the test and sped out of the parking lot. She should have done the same.
