Great museum with engaged creative staff. I love seeing the new exhibits they come up with!
This place is very entertaining and lots of hands on things to do. Lots to see and lots of fun. Good place to go to spend the day at. It is good for all ages from kids to adults. Well recommend to go if you are in the area. Very clean and nice staff. Looking forward to going back and seeing more.
Beautiful place. Lots of room for roaming and absorbing.
Was a nice place. The exhibit they had was very insightful. Their theme was the underground railroad at night. I do know that they charge. How much im not sure. When i visited the museum it is free. All in all it was a nice experience!
Really nice staff and lovely activities for kids. Go on a free day.
Went to see paintings by Joseph Raffael
The Canton Museum of Art is a very small but extremely well run and organized museum. The few galleries are laid out in a very professional manner just as you would see in a major museum. We went to see a show containing many of the works of Joseph Raffael known for beautiful large scale watercolor paintings. The exhibition was...
Nice artwork, but only 3 rooms. Certainly don't need to go more than once per exhibit. The guy at the front desk was about as unfriendly as a person can get- probably not the best choice for the face of their customer service.
Loved it here. So many things to see. I had a class with my group and we all enjoyed ourselves.
Nice collection and easy parking Good for those needing a culture break
There really wasn't that many exhibits to see but it was ok. I went on Thursday when admission is free so I didn't waste any money.
Such a neat place to visit the parking deck is a little hectic though
Very nice! Reservations encouraged. No fee for veterans. Facemask required.
Three rooms of paintings and mixed medium, and one mostly sculpture and earthen ware. That was it. My first trip. Maybe my last. The small gallery in Barberton has more to see per sqft.
This is a good place if you're wanting art lessons but I wouldn't consider this a museum but more of a two rooms gallery.
We had a birthday party we attended here and it was very nice!
Loved it so claim and relaxing the learning experience is grate
Nice staff interesting pictures and seramics I should have more things to put in for other little children to see overall it was really nice place that's why it's a four-star
I have learned so much from the oil painting classes taught by Frank Dale. Starting another one this week!
Small, but the permanent collection had great write ups about the artists. Many local artists. Learned a lot. The traveling collections were unique and thought provoking.
Not large but well laid out open spaces. Small gift shop.
I was here for oddmall and the dreamworlds exhibition, I liked what I saw. Will definitely be coming back to check out the rest.
Had a lot of fun making my own mug and learning about coffee tonight:)
Great building and organization. Went on a free day (president's day) not a lot of pieces on display really. Everyone there was very nice, but if I paid admission I would have been a little disappointed. Better to head up to Cleveland.
When we attended in December 2017, the galleries were closed to make way for a special artisans' show. Some vendors were set up to sell Christmas goods, and others had pottery, jewelry and other interesting creations. We plan to return when the normal galleries are open for view. Another fantastic museum about 1-hour away is The Butler Museum of American Art in Youngstown. Absolutely fantastic...plan to visit there as well. It's free and open to the public too.
Very cool. Didn't even know Canton had an art museum until a couple of weeks ago. The Dream world's exhibit was awesome, and the drawing booths for kids was great for my 6 year old, who was inspired by all the cool art! We're taking her back for Art Camp this summer!
Nice little museum with some interesting work on display. It's worth seeing if you're visiting the area.
Wonderfull exhibit called Food for Thought. Dont miss it.
Got there and it was packed. Seems some Catholic Church had an event there. None of the main galleries were open. Only one small one of local artists. Glad we didn't have to pay for parking and to get in. Stayed for 10 and left. Very disappointed.
The exhibits are a great tribute to the soldiers and service members who, even to this day, receive little if any recognition. Our K-9 troops!!!
It's cheap, well kept and they have high quality art and classes for both adults and children. Watch out of their events too! Very unique and fun!
It was cool they had the canton flee event going on
AWESOME! No reason not to go....easy parking, the gallery is very welcoming and so is the staff! The guy at the front desk was very helpful when I had questions and got me signed up for emails to keep me updated.
A wonderful gem of a museum. I have enjoyed every visit.
I had a lot of fun with this class. It was very calming. The instructor gave directions, but you still had the freedom to paint what you wanted or how you felt.
Their website specifically listed art by prominent artists, but they are apparently only on display periodically, and due to COVID they can't/won't let you see them.
Best piece of art on display was the amazing joinery on this bench
The Canton museum of art continuously brings in compelling fine art exhibits to accompany its first-rate permanent collection. This is a lovely museum that features events and special engagements that appeal to art lovers of every age. The staff is visionary and celebrates art and design that is unconventional and exemplary. Artists from every discipline share their mastery via sculpture, painting, fine art, furnishings, etchings, lithographs and fine textiles. The openings feature local musicians of distinction and the culinary skills and aesthetic delights of culinary science departments from Malone and Stark State campuses. This is a small museum with world-class ambitions and illustrious respect.
While the Canton Museum of Art may not be the largest around, this watercolor and ceramics focused museum is certainly serious about its art.
Some of the earnest staff include Directors, Curators, Education Managers, & Docents that continually & diligently work to provide members & tourers with an enlightening journey through many forms of artistic expression.
Visit, and visit often; as this museum does a great job of regularly changing the landscape of both their permanent & showcase galleries.
The museum had a great family night with a scavenger hunt and make and take projects.
Didn't go to the museum, the facility was being used by an organization.
Cool to check out! We enjoyed looking at the different pieces.
Lots of Valentine crafts and other crafts. Beautiful Art, too!
Small museum that has a wonderful rotation of exhibits expertly displayed
Galleries are closed. They are changing exhibitions. I traveled from Pittsburgh for nothing. Nothing was written on their website.
Perminent collection was roped off and not accessible during our visit, very small venue of artwork. I expected more.
I was there today. Tuesday October 13 2020. Only 2 floors. It small not really that much things to look at. Canton ohio small town I was expecting big museum like one in Chicago bur It was just ok. I was not that excited after going there. I won't go back maybe never. The lady working really cute lady nice lady.
Great galleries and employees! Though the area is small, every inch is made use of!
Small and not very satisfying but nice that Canton at least has something
A very small art museum that is laid out in a very attractive manner, it unfortunately had a furniture display out while we were there. Not all that interesting, really.
We were disappointed that it was closed today BUT it looks like a great place. The gentleman that was at the reception desk was so friendly. We can't wait to visit
There's a spectacular photography exhibit at Canton Museum of Art, running a few more weeks, called From Darkness To Light. It puts you in the shoes of escaping slaves moving North, through Ohio, on the Underground Railroad.
The museum is fantastic. It currently has an incredible exhibit of photos taken along the Underground Railroad. The also do activities all of the time. Now that it is October they are doing their kids event. Trick-or-treating and activities for the kids. Good times!
I come to Christkindlemart every year and this is the perfect venue for it to be held in. There is plenty of room for all of the vendors that are set up. They always have a great assortment of vendors as well. For anyone who lives in the area that hasn t come to Christkindlemart, it s worth taking the time to visit.
First time to this museum. Easily strolled through and saw everything in 2 hours. Nicely laid out with many local artists. Only one thing and this is probably just me...the labels on the art are all crooked! I wanted to fix!
Very cool and interesting place. Would definitely go again.
Love it there. Taking a new acrylics class. Took a watercolor class previously.
Had our wedding in the cable recital hall and reception in the lobby around the Pegasus. Absolutely loved it as a venue, very affordable.
Great show in the gallery, nice facility for special events
My husband and I visited the museum for the Crafty Mart shop. The museum is beautiful. Love the little sculpture courtyard. Very calm and inspiring atmosphere. We will make return visits.
Good place to take friends from work and family too!
Wife & I have taken a couple of painting instruction "classes" there and have thoroughly enjoyed them.
Nice place, needs some money spent on fixing some things
