Unfortunately we had to place my Aunt in a home due to dementia, we wanted a place that would make her feel like "home". Home is very important to her, to feel safe and secure. We couldn't be more happy with Canterbury on-the-lake memory care. It's the 2nd best place she could be (1st being at her home). The Staff is unbelievable and selfless, they made me feel different about "putting someone in a home", they truly care and go above and beyond. And Shannon, who assisted use with EVERY THING, is amazing and so special and patient with us too! I wish I could post more stars!! Thank you all for the amazing work you do. God Bless

I moved in at Canterbury-on-the-Lake in July. Everyone has proven to be an absolute delight to know. Early on, I sensed the family atmosphere throughout that feels so good. Being welcomed as a new resident is most reassuring and simply feels great. The staff has been incredible both in learning who I am and in helping in many ways to resolve any questions. There are constant activities available and the food is very much appreciated.

I volunteer in the summer here and it is a great community! The residents are all really nice and they never fail to put a smile on my face. All the workers there are very kind and generous. They always come up with the best activities for the residents such as out door movie night, senior olympics, and so much more. I would highly recommend this place both to volunteer and live at!

My husband and I have lived here for 3.5 years, and have enjoyed every minute of it. We love putt putt, bingo, and bean bag toss. We enjoy happy hour too.

Canterbury is a wonderful place to live. The staff and residents are like one big family. We are entertained and very well fed. There are many activities and exercise classes at all levels. Beautiful grounds and lake for walking. A chapel for services or just meditation. A happy hour once a week!

My mother chose to move to Canterbury more than 7 years ago. She loves it! What first drew her to Canterbury were the beautiful grounds where she could go for a walk. There are lots of activities she thoroughly enjoys, and the staff is amazing!

The first thing I noticed about Canterbury before moving here was what surrounded the campus: the beautiful grounds and scenery around the building. There was beauty everywhere you looked. When I went inside, I had a feeling of tradition. You can see and sense the history here and I discovered a long and powerful history dating back to the 1860's. When I toured the community I noticed everyone was so happy here; residents and employees all seemed so content. This really drew me to choosing Canterbury as my home. I have not been disappointed yet! The surroundings are not the only good thing, it is the people. The staff are so positive even during the pandemic and this has meant so much. The people here make a big difference. The staff assumed roles that they did not have before and not complain. They initiated activities in a way they had never done before. They made sure the residents were able to receive their groceries by shopping for them and food was delivered to our door that was made in-house, and selected by the resident. At a time of great challenge, they walked the extra mile to put joy in the lives of us with (as far as I know) a smile under the masks and in their eyest.
