We just checked in today, and I have to tell you - it was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life. The team here is absolutely phenomenal. From the valets, to the front desk, to the managers, everything was incredible. On top of all of that, the room was gorgeous. They also treated our dog with the utmost care. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

The Canary has done a great job of using their roof area for covid compliant outdoor dining. The space heaters were great for me, and when my wife asked if they had lap blankets blankets were provided. The food was great, per usual. I especially liked the salted Carmel milkshake and the church bites. Yes, I ordered two desserts.
Not really any bang for your buck. On a weekday, the standard King room is $350/night and that seems relatively reasonable for a hotel of this calibre. However, weekend rates are almost doubled and we paid nearly $700 for a 1-night stay (that's Ritz territory). Regretfully, this hotel does not hold up to that kind of price. While the location is top-notch (super walkable downtown), the room was doing little to justify its $700/night price tag. Bed was big and comfortable, but furnishings, fixtures, bathroom and mostly everything was outdated and showing significant signs of wear and tear. While the circa-1999 TV in the bathroom was an intriguing artifact from the last millennium, it did not distract from the fact that the bathroom is in a desperate need of a remodel.
Unless you teleported to the hotel or possess the ability to fly, you will pay an extra $36/night for parking. Alternatively, you can battle it out for metered street parking and drag your luggage to your luxury 4-star hotel.
Overall, if you want to be as central as possible and explore SB on foot, this is a good choice if you can snag a weekday rate and plan to spend most of the day out and about. Just don't expect serious luxury.
Our stay here was brief, but memorable. I was so elated to experience the pool on the roof top. I can imagine on a clear day it is INCREDIBLE! We were within walking distance to many restaurants, cafes and the beach. The staff was friendly, accommodating and even included a list of most likely forgotten items in our room to fully satisfy our visit. I am usually a budget traveler so to be traveling with a gold member was really a treat. I love succulents and the decor was lovely. Our room was close to the elevator but not noisy and it was quite spacious. Thank you for your beautiful accommodations
Their very nice and helpful. The valet service area is overwhelming. I was delivering food and was stuck in between cars for over five minutes and the valet on hand wasn't too worried for me. He saved himself at the last minute when I was literally about to explode in anger and he finally moved the car in front of me. They should have two valets on hand for busy nights not much the guy could of done by himself.
Great location. Excellent service. Awesome rooftop pool. Few problems. (1) The beds are really high. How high is it? The hotel offers a step stool because it is that common a problem. (2) Rooms are old. They need updating. Fine, you can call it historic, charming, etc., but isn't that just a nicer way of saying old?
