Avoid doing business in Canada, as much as possible
Oh my God! A while ago, I received a notice from the agency requesting that I file a return. I was like, What? So, I called. I told them that I am American, not Canadian. I do not live in Canada and have never lived. I do not do any business in Canada. Why do I have to file a return? They instructed us to file a return with zero income and complete the account closing form to close your account, which will then be closed. So, I did. After a while, I got another notification for failing to file the return. So, I called again. I was informed that my account was not closed because it cannot be closed on the requested closure date. Please fill out and resubmit the form. So, I did. Then I started receiving calls to inform them of the reason for closing the account, which I had already mentioned multiple times during the calls. I was swamped and was occupied with my mom's sickness. So, it took me a while to get back to them. I was told that the incident was closed because I called too late. I thought that account got closed. I was like, thank you, God, finally. However, the person told me that the account is still open; only the incident has been closed. Therefore, I need to resend the form. This was the tipping point for me. I mean, they are randomly sending notices to foreigners and then giving such a hard time to get errors fixed. I am sure that these tax money eaters wonder why businesses avoid doing business in Canada. I believe they never dared to look in the mirror and have that huge revelation. I told him that your mistakes should not be my problem. Those should be your problem. Canadians are not used to hearing the truth. He said, "Hey". That was it for me. I said bye and hung up. I am still in limbo. Guess, I will have to send that form again. What an effing waste of time, money, and resources for an idiotic foreign agency, absolutely for no reason at all. Think carefully if you plan to do business in Canada.
