Thank you so much for your help in making our week of programming a success. The bunks and apartments were a great space for us. Our participants loved the space, were well rested, and got to enjoy the Hill Country's greenery.
We especially enjoyed our night by the campfire. During our time on camp, we felt very well taken care of and safe.

Thank you for working to accommodate our group. It meant a lot to us to have such a special place to come back to at night. I hope we will be able to work together in the future.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the lovely space, the caring staff, and the preview of spring! The gathering of FLGBTQC Friends went well, in part due to well-placed rocking chairs, lovely meeting spaces, a certain tree house, and the sense of peace that surrounded us.

Thanks especially to Patty and Zach, who responded to our few requests for help with speed and grace. Please thank the kitchen staff as well. The food was awesome !

DBMAT and CYJ

DBMAT and CYJ
For the past two years, the Deaf-Blind Multihandicapped Association of Texas (DBMAT) has had their annual weekend conference at Camp Young Judaea (CYJ). As the Childcare Coordinator, I provide not only care but activities and fun for 50-60 children who have disabling conditions along with their sibling allowing the parents time for meetings and connecting to other parents.

My job is made so easy because of the coordination and ease in working with the CYJ staff. They go out of their way to make their camp work for our group. Communication before the weekend flows smoothly with very timely responses by telephone and email. On our specific weekend (September 18-20, 2015), a CYJ staff was available by text messaging to get what was needed. This wonderful lady, Carly, ran back and forth opening doors, bringing items, finding things, etc. Best of all, she did it with a smile that made me feel I was not a bother. She was there for our group wholeheartedly and happily. In 2014, Bar was assigned to our weekend. He provided the same level of excellent assistance during the weekend.

Of course for children, nothing is better than the swimming pool. The lifeguards quickly adapted to the group and enthusiastically helped to make an amazing experience for the children. They even picked up a few words in sign language.
This beautiful camp offered arts and craft, areas for basketball, soccer, softball - all with equipment available, a very nice playground with creative equipment and so much more. On Saturday evening, CYJ staff assisted the parents and children to have an ice cream social.

In these past two years, my experience has been so positive. I love what I do in taking care of the children. I love doing it at Camp Young Judaea. I am looking forward to many more years of the conference happening at this beautiful facility with excellent staff.

My Non-Profit (DBMAT-TX) held annual conferences in '14 and '15 at CYJ. We had about 200 people each year. Attendees included adults and children. The adults enjoyed the large meeting rooms, comfortable residential accommodations, and friendly staff. The children enjoyed all the outdoor facilities (especially the swimming pool.) We all thought the food was great. The location (along Cypress Creek in the Wimberley area) is beautiful while remaining within an hours drive of Austin. As one of the event organizers I found Bar (Operations Director) to be extremely accommodating and flexible. The vast majority of our attendees gave this facility excellent ratings. We plan on using CYJ for many years to come. I'm posting this same review in a # of social media outlets-- because I believe in CYJ.

My experience with CYJ has surpassed every expectation I had for my retreat of a few days. From the wonderful spaces they provide, to the amazing food and a variety of outdoor activities, you will never get bored. The camp is on a large piece of land and includes everything one would would imagine a campsite would have and more. Above all, the staff there is so accommodating, highly flexible and honestly few of the best people I had the great pleasure of working with. I am greatly satisfied with my experience and I believe everyone should have a chance to partake in this!!! Thank you Patty and Zach!!!

I held a team building retreat with over 200 financial services agents at Camp Young Judea this summer and was thoroughly impressed with the service we received. I have conducted and been a part of many team building events in the past, yet this one was the best I've experienced. Many agents have expressed the same sentiment.

Running an event can be an overwhelming responsibility, yet the camp staff took care of most of the details before I could even think of them, which provided me relief throughout the process and helped to ensure that all of our activities ran smoothly. Between the variety of outdoor activities available, cozy accommodations, cleanliness, quality meals and beautiful scenery, I am confident recommending this retreat center to anyone looking to create a memorable experience for their team!

I had the good fortune to spend last weekend in a meditation retreat at your center. Wow, where to even start?

The grounds are beautiful, and the peacefulness found there is itself very tranquilizing and relaxing, a perfect environment for our needs. Our group of about 24 people were housed in the Staff Lodging building, and the accommodations were excellent a lot of us commented about that. Very comfortable beds, and very nice baths. It was so peaceful at night, I felt like I was camping out. Serene.

The head honcho Zach couldn t have been nicer, and he oversaw a staff in the cafeteria who were absolutely top notch. I m not a big fan of vegetarian cuisine (requested by our retreat leader), but the food here was as good as I ve ever tasted, and delicious. And your whole team was so friendly always a big plus.

Whoever is behind this operation should be proud Zach and his crew delivered a five star experience to us all. Now I m trying to figure out how to book another weekend room just to get away and walk those grounds again.

Well done and two thumbs up, YJC!

Camp Young Judaea - Texas: A Place for Kids and Youth to Learn, Grow, and Have Fun

Are you looking for a summer camp that offers more than just fun activities? Do you want your child to learn new skills, make lifelong friends, and develop a sense of community? Look no further than Camp Young Judaea - Texas.

Since 1952, CYJ has been providing an unforgettable summer experience for kids and youth in grades 2-10. Located in the beautiful Hill Country of Texas, our camp offers a wide range of activities that cater to every interest. From sports and arts to outdoor adventures and leadership development programs, we have something for everyone.

At CYJ-Texas, we believe that summer camp is more than just a break from school. It's an opportunity for children to grow emotionally, socially, intellectually and spiritually. Our experienced staff members are dedicated to creating a safe environment where campers can explore their interests while building self-confidence and independence.

Our program is designed around four core values: Jewish identity building; community building; personal growth; and tikkun olam (repairing the world). We believe that these values are essential in helping young people become responsible citizens who contribute positively to society.

Our Jewish identity-building program includes daily prayer services as well as Shabbat celebrations on Friday evenings. We also offer Hebrew language classes so that campers can learn about their heritage while having fun with their peers.

Community building is another important aspect of our program. We encourage our campers to work together on group projects such as talent shows or service projects. This helps them develop teamwork skills while fostering a sense of belonging within the CYJ-Texas community.

Personal growth is also emphasized at our camp through leadership development programs such as CIT (Counselor-in-Training) or LIT (Leader-in-Training). These programs help older campers develop leadership skills while serving as role models for younger ones.

Finally, tikkun olam is an integral part of our program at CYJ-Texas. We encourage our campers to give back by participating in service projects both within the camp community and beyond it. This helps them understand the importance of social responsibility while making a positive impact on others' lives.

In addition to these core values-based programs, we offer various activities such as swimming lessons in one of two pools available at the site or horseback riding lessons with trained professionals who will teach your child how best handle horses safely during rides through scenic trails around Camp Young Judaea - Texas property!

We also have sports facilities including basketball courts which are perfect for pick-up games between friends after dinner time! And if arts & crafts are more your thing then don't worry because there's plenty here too! With pottery classes taught by skilled instructors who will guide you through each step along with painting sessions where creativity knows no bounds!

CYJ-Texas offers several different session options throughout the summer months so families can choose what works best for them based on dates availability or budget constraints! Our rates vary depending upon length stay but rest assured all fees include meals lodging transportation medical care insurance coverage during stay!

In conclusion:
