William St John has been to Camp Winton BSA several times. I had a great Sunner
Camp with Troop 226 either in 1983 or 1984, Our troop went on canoe trek from
Wednesday evening until Thursday morning. We canoed to the dam of the Upper
Lake, then we portage all our food, and equipment up to the shore of the Upper Lake,
then we went back to get the canoes up to the Upper Lake. Then we loaded up the
canoes; again, then we paddled out to a small island. Then we ate dinner and did
fellowship, and more fun until about 11:00 p.m. Then at about 2:00 a.m. a full moon
starts to rise up into the sky. This was a very impressive canoe trek, that I will always
remember for the rest of my life.

The staff here are AMAZING as they are extremely nice and helpful to get your Boy Scout rewards. The food could use improvement as it is either raw or overcooked which keeps it away from a 5 star. I would recommend for anyone that wants a good experience here.

Absolutely amazing staff. Fun merit badge groups. Lots for Scouts to do here. They have a great culture and the leadership goes out of their way to support the scouting process. I would highly recommend this camp for anyone looking for a great place to take their Troop.

I attended and worked at camp winton for a cumulative 6 years and I loved every minute. If you don't enjoy real camping I wouldn't recommend it, but otherwise it's a beautiful experience. Thanks to all my friends who made my time at camp the best times of my life!

I have been to many different camps before and Winton is my favorite by far. I have been to Winton for four years as a youth and my troop went their this year as well. All the merit badges taught were great. Not much insect life so you don't get swarms of bug like many other camps. High Adventure activities are pretty amazing as well. The weather is fantastic, it is cool and dry. Mostly hot and stuffy during the summer in my home town so it feels amazing to be outside in this weather.

The directions here suggest that there is an obvious entrance off of hwy88, but there isn't. There is an unmarked dirt road about 1/2 mile before Google says you are there.
