Great summer camp program, kids are tired everyday and are sad when it ends in august. Much of the staff are there year after year. It's also one of the more reasonably priced camps in the area. Most groups have 2 45 minute lake sessions each day where they learn swimming fundamentals until they are ready to pass the various swim tests.

The leadership and staff at Camp Westwood care about your experience with them. I have witnessed this first hand, not as a customer, but as a contractor working on the property. While I worked on site, the campgrounds, waterfront and recreation areas were well kept and the staff were pleasant and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. It was my pleasure working with Mike and his team. I look forward to taking my family camping there in the spring, the beginning of a family tradition.

This YMCA is like nothing else, You can rent cabins for a vacation with friends and family. There is also a trailer park. They offer a nice day camp for kids. It's had an amazing lake where you can swim, boat or fish. And they provide many amazing activities & summer programs for their lake side members.

Beautiful beach area, excellent lifeguards. Not all Deluxe cabins have grills over the fire pit area. Easy check in and check out. Floors in the cabins were swept when we arrived, but one had broken furniture. When we were there, nice and quiet. Many seasonal spots with campers utilizing golf carts. Bathrooms were in good condition generally. Some of the smaller cabins on the waterfront need a facelift and refreshed paint. Grounds kept up well, no trash about. Fishing dock is separate from beach area. Kayaks available to rent, you cannot bring your own inflatable though. Overall, a great experience. Definitely take an upgraded cabin if you are considering a cabin rental. Also, bring a wagon to transport your stuff as not all sites have parking right at the site.

Most unorganized business I ve ever seen. Had to drive 45 minutes to and from this campground BEFORE my stay to fill out registration paperwork that easily could have been done over the phone. Arrived for paperwork only to find out they ve been double booking and don t know what sites are even available. Arrive and are charged for an additional night with staff that doesn t know how to resolve this problem. Was told we could rent kayaks if we went to the office before 4. Arrived at 3, office already locked and closed. Explained this to the boathouse staff & was told they couldn t help n this was an office problem not a boathouse problem. Our kids were so disappointed. Last night, we paid the office staff $15 for wood to be delivered to our site, took our money but wood never came. Only half our electricity worked. Whole stay was unpleasant with no resolve from any staff about any issues: not even an apology. Any other place would try to recover the business, but not this place. WE WONT BE BACK
Oh god and the lifeguards!? Absolutely ridiculous! Every single adult on the beach was ready to attack over zealous, lifeguard nick, who s power kick was more important than any fun being had. My older child reached for the hand of my younger to help her, and was yelled at for not keeping hands to herself. That whistle was blown every 30 seconds. Ruined the day, my kids were afraid to do anything besides stand still. AWFUL beach experience as well.

Well two years ago we started camping at westwood,...

Well two years ago we started camping at westwood, it was wonderful, then last year this new director came in and we heard stories, one older gentleman asked him why he came in like a lamb and ended up being Hitler. Half the campers were looking for a new place to camp. This year we fell into unforseen circumstances and we're not able to rent the campsite, we were having trouble getting someone to help us move our camper, when we did get there the director said he was ready to put the camper on the street, all our thing we're missing, a brand new grill smashed it looks like it was done on purpose, the lake they talk about has 3 huge rocks right in the middle were the kids swim, my grandson and daughter each smacked their head off the rock, no one told us it was there, as for the staff some were nice most were kids that didn't know what they were doing and we're very rude. If you are thinking of going to westwood, I would think again

Not the place to camp if you have young children. My 8 year old was accused of slicing tires. And then they decided to keep my $50 deposit for "misconduct" when no one seen my child do ANYTHING. I'm pretty sure an 8 year old doesn't have the ability to slice I tire .... whatever !
