This summer marks my children's 3rd year at Camp Sonshine and as always it has been a wonderful experience. We usually only do 2 weeks but this year we added an extra week at the request of my 9 year old daughter. The camp counselors are thoughtful and make each child feel so special. I am thankful to Camp Sonshine and look forward to seeing the blue bus next year!
This is our second year at Camp Sonshine and my 4-year old waited all year to come back! Every morning she is excited to go there. It's just an outstanding camp. They have lots of fun activities, most of which are outdoors. They take safety seriously, and the communication between the camp and family is great. The counselors are positive, and genuinely enjoy being around kids and, it shows in everything they do with them. They sing, they dance and teach them to be kind to one another. I'm so happy to have found this camp. Thank you, Camp Sonshine!
My daughter has met so many new friends, comes home singing new songs, dancing and happy! They show individual attention to each child, have a friendly and safe environment and celebrate/teach character!
This was the best investment I have ever made. In addition, each morning my day starts with waves and smiles from staff members, bubbles dancing about the sky from a bubble machine and music! As a parent this camp brings me great joy and peace of mind! I have nothing but love for all things Camp Sonshine! Forget 5 stars, they get 5 !
I was fortunate enough to have been a camper at Camp Sonshine for 10 years of my life, and continued by volunteering as an assistant counselor into my late teens. I have nothing but praise for Camp Sonshine. I loved going to camp every summer, and I cherish the friendships and memories made as I find myself in early adulthood.
Staff is focused on a goal to make campers experience God's love, without the exclusion of those who did not practice christianity. The counselors are incredibly kind hearted, hard-working and nurturing people, and manage to put on a smile every day and make sure their campers are having fun. The result is a fun and loving environment to spend the summer days of childhood. I strongly recommend.
We have 2 kiddos in camp Sonshine this summer and can't wait to send our 2 littler ones as well. They just love the camp environment, and the love, enthusiasm, and attention the counselors give them. Camp Sonshine provides a wonderful environment for the kids, and they have lots of events outside of the Monday - Friday camp environment so that parents and siblings can experience the fun as well. We will be back year after year.
This has been the best camping experience for my sons. They have attended several camps over the years and Camp Sonshine is by far the best and the only one they look forward to returning to year after year! I love the activities, the overnight experience, the love for God and family that's represented, the staff, and how smoothly and efficiently the camp is ran. My boys are currently 10 and already they are planning to attend year after year and possibly work at the camp when they reach working age. I recommend Camp Sonshine! My sons typically have endless energy however, at the end of Camp they are exhausted! Which means no day is dull and uneventful.... we love it!
Worth every dime! My 8 year old son can't wait to go back in just a few weeks!
Camp Sonshine is pricey, but it is well worth the money. You will not regret the money spent. My kids consider it a must each summer for 3 years now. The counselors engage the kids and encourage them to have fun. This camp is great for kids who like to be on the move.
My experience is as a child who went to this camp for several years when I was younger. Its been 10+yrs but I remember everything about this camp. If you're trying to figure out whether or not the money is worth the experience, I'm here to tell you, it is! The counselors every year were caring and compassionate. They learned each child's name and made every one of us feel special. We did many activities, some of which are once in a life time experiences and you're children will love it!
I recently just moved back to maryland as an adult with 3 kids of my own. Due to covid 19 I am unable to enroll my kids here this summer but 2021 you better believe I'll be sending my kids here to have fun and learn new experiences!!!!
This was an amazing experience for my little girl who is 7. The counselors were attentive from the time I dropped her off until pick up. She came home daily telling me of the friends she made and the activities she engaged in. It was nice having many counselors from different countries that she could interact with. I will continue to send her back for more adventures.
