I worked here as a riding camp counselor over the summer. The riding staff was super understaffed and 15 of us were expected to do the job of 30 people. Not only did we work 90ish hours a week with only one hour off a day but we were only paid $200 a week and were not allowed to leave camp at all due to COVID restrictions. The riding staff especially the leadership positions in the barn were constantly being yelled at by the camp owner when it's the riding program that keeps this camp afloat.
That's only the beginning. It's now almost October and I left camp at the beginning on august and still not have been paid all the money that I am owed. I've sent numerous emails to the owner of the camp which he has begin to ignore. Fellow counselors of mine this summer have also not been paid all their money.
If I could put zero stars for this camp I would. They way they treat their workers is extremely disrespectful and very shady. 0/10 would not recommend working here. Also the camp is ridiculously expensive for what they offer for their kids. There's so many better camps for the money that you could send your daughters too. Everything at this camp is going downhill. Would not be surprised if they're not able to get enough business next year.

I know of multiple counselors that have NOT BEEN PAID for all summers work after 2 months of returning home. If you care about where your money is going, don t go to this camp.

My girls have gone to Camp Rim Rock for the past 2 years, and we have already booked for 3 weeks next summer (although they lobbied hard to stay for 8 weeks!). The location is beautiful, the counselors outstanding, the activities varied, and the friendships lasting.

I can't say enough good things about the camp, the management, and the natural beauty of the location. And at only 2 hours from DC, it is very convenient too.

I worked here as a camp counselor this past summer and I still haven t been paid in full for all the work I ve done. I ve emailed the owner many times and he says he will resolve the issue but I m yet to receive the remainder of my money. Other staff members have complained about not receiving all of their pay or haven t been paid at all. Considering how expensive the camp is it should be expected that the hard-working counselors should get paid well for our time but we were only given $200 a week for working crazy hours and not allowed to leave camp property the whole time we were there. Not recommended if you have any dietary restrictions because they will say they can accommodate for you but in reality the options for people with dietary restrictions are very limited. Very unprofessional and sketchy business, don t give them your money or work for them.

If YOU recall there was an accusation that was not as you claim confirmed. My rating was nothing more than my opinion for which I am entitled. But thanks for reaffirming my opinion. True colors cannot be hidden.

Our daughter has been going for two weeks every summer for four years now, and talks about it every other week of the year in between. She loves it and can t wait to get back. We re so glad she has such a great experience every year.

Beware parents: Camp Rim Rock has significant financial issues and has not given parents refunds for cancellation of certain camps due to Covid-19 at the beginning of the summer. The camp promised refunds by 1 October 2020 and without warning changed the date to 31 December 2020. As a military family on a set income, having over $2000 held by the camp's owners (through the holiday season) is completely unacceptable. They are undoubtedly holding hundreds of thousands of dollars of parents' money, which would lead one to believe that the camp has mismanaged parents' camp fees. Additionally, the camp did not give us the promised 10 percent discount for paying the camp fees up front.

Read the other reviews on this site and online, this camp has major financial issues. Stay away!

Update December 2020: The camp has just let parents know that it has declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Since I posted the update, the camp has deleted all previous refund requests from the Camp In Touch website, so parents that did not download these forms previously have no record of previous refund requests. It is a good thing that I downloaded and screenshot everything. Parents: please stay away from this business, it goes beyond normal financial issues and points to unethical business practices. This is no place to send your children!!!

I was a camper at Rim Rock two years ago. All I have to say is that you will be completely wasting your time and money. The staff was not at all supportive or friendly. There are so many other amazing camps to choose from, ths is not one of them. I would never want to step foot there again. The owners are extremely disrespectful and hurtful, that had to have been the worst part.

My girls LOVE this place. We tell everyone we can about it. We were referred to it and have referred many friends.
The oldest is now a Jr. Counselor after attending for 7 years. The little one is going for her 5th year. Joe and his crew are amazing. The little one developed an anxiety issue with smells and closed in spaces 2 years back prior to going to camp. We informed Joe and the counselor. They were very communicative with us on her first few days. They were able to devise a solution that worked for her and she was able to enjoy the entire 2 week stay. She has extended her stay by also attending the riding camp prior to general. If you have a daughter with a love of horses this is the place for her.
When we pick up our girls at the end of camp we always receive good reviews on everything, especially the food and the older one is a picky eater. I cannot say enough good things about Camp Rim Rock.
