This is literally an icon of history and it is rich in the DNA of the building. Just stand there and you can literally feel it. Stunning

Great historical venue, hardly any mod cons though. But with lots of old features of a debating chamber
If you just visit here, the place itself is not bad. But please do not buy the membership !!!!!!, it is not worth the money at all. Not sure if it happened in past years, but this year, they canceled a significant amount of big events at last minutes. I purchased the membership for these events, but they just canceled without any reimbursement. It looks like they just keep posting fake events to attract people to purchase the membership. For those famous visitors events "postponed', I did not see any of them actually visit back. Also, They kept saying they are going to increase the membership to induce people to buy the membership, but it never happened for the past whole year. I barely leave any bad review, but my experience with Cambridge union is extremely bad.
A fine old building with a great set up for debating.
Great for you if you're a member - you get access to world class speakers. But the seat allocation needs serious work.
Had a debate training day there and it was incredible
The Cambridge Union (Society) is located in a wonderful location. While I don't myself have a membership, I have heard from others that the debates that happen here are great, and perhaps worth the rather expensive membership fee. I have gone here for other events, and it has a historic ambiance which is very enjoyable.
A really excellent Devolution debate followed by a talk on European Identity by Lord Green introduced by Herman Hauser - A Cambridge Network event #CNevent
Came to watch Cambridge versus Oxford at a public debate. Great experience. Top notch debaters. Venue is outstanding. Visiting Cambridge is a treat. Make sure to doublecheck to see if the debate is open to the public if you plan to visit.
The history of this place is amazing. The staff are professional and nice.
Beautiful surroundings and reasonably priced food and drink
Marvellous place. Pity they have allowed Anglia Poly students in....
Glorious venue, historical debating society. If you are invited to a function there go.
Love the place. Great atmosphere for reading a book in peace and meet unknown and possibly friendly people.
Quality varies from term to term. However, usually an excellent selection of speakers. Very nearly worth the high price of membership!
We bumbled in and had the possibly the worst shots I've ever had. We had beetroot and then a coconut and cumin shot. The beetroot was so pungent it made two of our party bring up their tea. The Staff were lovely though.
It's the oldest debating society in the world. Protecting free speech since 1815.
Historical debate chamber. I recommend visiting at least the free debate (beginning of October) to get the feel for the spirit
David Miliband - A great intimate venue for an interesting speaker
A place not only beautiful but also a nice place to drink a coffee or a beer. The place to come to find some peace after the Cambridge tourist crowds.
Great place for debating which once had Winston Churchill
Amazing speakers and a huge variety of events through Union+
Decent bar. Has various events on through the year.
Beautiful old university building. Been here for couple of functions and really enjoyed it.
I like the place, it is a historical place and has all the facilities needed.
Beautiful building. Great set up for conferences though difficult to get out during a session.
Joined the Cambridge Union which has a load of programmes, debates and famous speakers to attend. There's a cafe bar within too with great vibes.
