Love the Flames and way the owners insist that if you are going to play for the Flames than you give back to the community. Years ago my 14 year old niece was in the old Children's Hospital and was dying from Leukemia and a couple of the Flames players came to visit her and gave her signed jerseys. She was overjoyed with this act of kindness from the players even though she had already lost her eyesight from the disease and she knew that she didn't have much time to live. I will never forget how much that one small act of kindness meant to my niece. My niece passed away about a week later. Keep up the good work Flames and continue to make us proud.

Has turned out to be a long term disappointment to the Community.
I was raised in this community going to the Flames games since the 80's.
Since then, the fruit of what this organization has accomplished in the community is to take as much dollars as it can from the locals, while doing nothing about the addictions their industry has been contributing to. I can even remember putting myself through post secondary school and seeing some of these NHL players having so much money that they can afford to waste themselves with the drink and behaving as though they had more rights than the average citizen. I'm sure society could survive without this agreed upon and implied embezellment-like amounts of pay going to this franchise and it's players. This community has been in a big recession, yet these players continue to milk funds out of the community, retire, laugh at it all, and move out of the community or get traded away as fast as possible. They do nothing for a lot of the social problems and relevant causes around them in proportion to what they take and contribute to.
So sad... I've known people who park themselves almost every evening in front of the tv, shunning out the people in their lives around them. It's such a 'status symbol' to have a seat in that ancient haunted dome. And the history of the club is, if the fan support goes down, they literally hound, pressure and hoodwink honest hardworking people in the community so the Flames Club members can live exhorbant lifestyles off of the combined hard working incomes of people in the community. People's cable and tv subscriptions are also supporting this. In the meantime, Canada as a nation underachieves in many areas of importance. Children in Canada are also facing starvation, homelessness , unemployment, etc. The NHL does almost nothing to contribute to the futures of young Canadians, unless it satisfies their own self interest. At the same time, their recruitment and promoting agendas have been all but less than completely inclusive. Really doesn't represent the face of Calgary, nor Canada.

The Flames are my favorite NHL team. Last season (2017-18) they sadly didn t make it into the playoffs. After that 7 game win streak in January 2018 they just fell apart. I hope they do better this season. I think that David Rittich should be the #1 goalie. His numbers are better than Smith s. I am also mad about how Hamilton was traded instead of Brodie. Brodie scored 8 goals last year, and 4 of them were on his own net. He also basically assisted Brad Marchand last year in overtime. My favorite player is Sean Monahan. Last year he led the whole team in goals(31 goals).
