The doctors and nurses here were so wonderful that...

The doctors and nurses here were so wonderful that all of my fear and anxiety I originally had about being ignored or neglected were gone and I was not even in my scheduled C-section hospital! I live in Houston, TX. The way that the nurses and doctors treated me, you would have thought I knew them from around town or I was a VIP. It may sound like I'm exaggerating, but I am truly forever grateful for the people who work in this hospital .
My wonderful husband and daughter drove an hour to get me to the nearest hospital.
Dr.Newman, Nurses Rebbeca, Mary, Dana, Connie, Jessica, Brian, Cory, Logan, and other nurses I can't remember (because I was unconscious) were Superheroes in my opinion.
I was 7 months almost 8 months pregnant, pale, feverish and barely breathing. Rebecca and Mary attended to me immediately. I had already lost 4 liters of blood due to a uterus rupture. Unfortunately, our baby didn't make it. He didnt have a heartbeat when we arrived at the hospital. In the end, they were able to save me at least. My earth children still have a mother earth side. My husband still has his wife/life partner.

Dr. Newman was the doctor on call; once he received the call he was at the hospital very quickly and went straight to action. The nurses were all kind and had the best bedside manners. They were on top of all of my needs. They were so helpful to my husband and myself during this difficult time in our lives. Once I became fully conscious, Dr. Newman came in person to check on my progress and made sure everything was healing properly. The care I received in the labor and delivery department was immaculate. I wish more facilities in my local area were like this hospital.

I don't know what happens next, but going home with an empty stomach and no baby in our arms (plus a house full of baby stuff) will be difficult. We love you always Baby Hughes.

Worse hospital I have ever been too. Went in cause I couldn t see well been 38 that isn t good. Put IV in and then they kept me a few hours said I needed to go to Lake Charles or Alexandria for scans they didn t have. I had been on the lake for days fishing and was sun burnt. Was discharged after 40 mins and I was drove to lake Charles Memorial Hospital where they found I was critically dehydrated. I was never givens any fluids at all while at Byrd and lake Charles gave me 3 bags of fluids I was feeling much better. When my doctor in lake Charles called the ER doctor at Byrd to ask why I has been released and not given any fluid he later hung up on my doctor. Then 6 months later I was filed a lawsuits against by hospital for 9 thousand dollars. I has refused to pay because of their poor management. When lake Charles had me over 4 hours and only charges me 1200.00 dollars. Your beret off going to lake Charles. DeRidder or Alexandria stay Clear of this horrible excuse for a hospital.. people Are friendly and good in ER but that s where it ends I couldn t see and when I went to check out lady told me. Since you didn t have your insurance card or info it s 200.00 I said mam I couldn t see I didn t bring my wallet she said well what s new another person who can t pay and slammed the door in my face. Couldn t believe how poorly I was treated. And they still never filed it on my insurance instead just filed lawsuits against me

I would give their Labor & Delivery unit 10 stars if I could. I had to be monitored regularly & every nurse I encountered was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. I delivered 2 babies there in the past 2.5 years with no complaints. All the nurses working there Feb-March are awesome, especially day time Rachel, Chelsey, and overnight Rachel

I had a surgical procedure recently at Byrd Regional Hospital and couldn't have had a better experience anywhere. The OR nurses, surgeon, and anesthetist were top notch! they were knowledgeable, courteous, and caring. I will definitely use them again if the opportunity arises. Thanks!

Would not recommend went over a few days ago because I wasn t feeling well and have been throwing up and don t really have a physical primary doctor so I went to the hospital to get checked up and the doctor was so rude he wouldn t even step inside the room and when he would talk to me about what was wrong with me he would do it from outside the door have closed and got an attitude with me when I said I could barely hear him I just don t understand how you re supposed to explain or even do any test on me from outside the room he just sent nurses in I had to ask nurses to explain the situation to me because my doctor act like he was just scared to come near me in the whole time I just have bad allergies And he acted as if me myself was a disease.

I came in with a really bad pain and growth in my left nostril, the ER doctor told me it was allergies and irritation from my septum piercing (I ve had the piercing for 7 years) and he sent me home with nothing but advice to take allergy meds. Less than 48 hours later the entire left side of my face swelled up and I got lock jaw. I had a staph infection. Not allergies I ll drive endless hours out of town before I ever go back over to this hospital. If you can t tell the difference from allergies and a staph infection that s just sad.

Not a great hospital, everyone is friendly enough tho. Nurses seem to not have great bed side manners. Out of all the hospitals I've ever been to this is hands down the worst. I've delivered one child here and been to the ER a few times. Long waits, terrible care. No hot water for patiences rooms, no lactation consultant, looks like it hasn't been updated in years, and is behind the times.

Would definitely advice not going to this hospital I went there Friday morning because I was running a high fever of 104.6 and they kept me for maybe two hours COVID tested me and told me my test was negative then the doctor came in and said that I had some throat condition in which he never tested for and sent me home so I went back Sunday afternoon because I was still waiting on the lab COVID test just for them to tell me that they were never done after the doctor specifically said I would get a call in the next 2 days so I had to go back and take the test just for them to put me in a disgusting room with throw up on the wall as I heard them talking outside my room saying to avoid cleaning two rooms they put me in a room a COVID patient had just came out of i will happily say do not go to this horrible hospital there nasty they lie and they don t help you like there suppose to .

I was sent her for pre term labor, everyone was nice, except the catheter they used was too thick. They need to invest in the thinner catheter tubes. I had to have that thing in for two days after they had to send me to a higher level of care. I ve had other catheters before, the one they used must be a cheaper one.
