We booked the afternoon tea experience over the ph...

We booked the afternoon tea experience over the phone, two weeks in advance. Got an email almost instantly with my unique booking number, which they instructed me to show the security guard upon entry to the small island on which the Burj is situated.

We dressed up for the occasion, as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were greeted very warmly by reception staff.

You have to go up the escalator and then head right to the back of the hotel, to the skyview bar reception desk. The member of staff will take your name and then you're free to walk around the lobby. Make sure you return 5 minutes before the time they tell you to return. They send people up according to whoever arrived and checked in with the reception staff first. There were two couples before us and they got into the elevator hurriedly, which meant we were stuck just inside the door. Sounds bad? It wasn't. We decided that we'd check the ceiling to floor glass window view of the elevator, on our way down. We were the first to exit the elevator and as such, first to be seated. Thankfully, my table request was fulfilled and the view was absolutely awesome.

A waiter is assigned per table (or per two to three tables depending on how busy it is). We chose the 1pm slot and we recommend this since they seat further guests at 1:30pm and afterwards too. Those guests would find it difficult to have a window seat.

We started the experience with two flutes of sparkling date juice (others can opt for champagne) and soft medjoul dates stuffed with walnuts and orange slices. The waiter told us that we could order any drinks (lots of different teas, coffees, iced teas/coffees, fresh fruit juices and soft drinks) at any time, as many times as we liked. He then served us a cut of meat (cooked medium to well done) with mashed potatoes, which was tasty.

The finger sandwiches were ok and there was a selection of 5 different flavours. That's 5 sandwiches per person and you're free to ask for more. I ordered the passion fruit iced tea and it was absolutely delicious and refreshing.

Then we had some tea, the white peony tea was somewhat dry, but we enjoyed the lychee tea, which was subtle in taste but surprisingly nice.

We were then served lots of different pastries and desserts. They were all fantastic! We asked for some more, which our waiter brought happily.

My tips: arrive on time at the hotel. You're allowed access to the hotel 30 minutes before your booking time. Register your name with the sky view bar reception to ensure you're one of the first up there.

Try the passion fruit iced tea and pace yourself between drinks and food. You're able to order as much as you like, so don't feel shy to ask (our waiter although nice, did seem a little annoyed that we asked for more desserts).

Ask for the table in the corner of the bar, overlooking the gulf and the beachfront. Definitely the best table in the house.

Let the person taking your initial reservation know if you're celebrating a special occasion. Every person is given a box of chocolates and a Burj al Arab stamped pen. My wife was given a single red rose, wrapped in a velvety red paper. Nice touch! Another person celebrating a birthday was given a slice of cake with happy birthday iced onto it.

Check out the toilet facilities. There isn't a view, but the decor is worth a look at.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and it's definitely something to do, just the once, when in Dubai.

Be sure to take a camera. It's a unique bar to drink in, make sure you ask for a window seat as soon as you enter and they will move you as soon as one becomes available. Staff are very attentive and yes the drinks aren't cheap, but it's worth it for a once in a life time experience.

his is probably one of the best spots at the Burj Al Arab. It s the highest point of the hotel and this little capsule that you see at the head of the Burj Al Arab is actually a swanky bar on this inside. You will get one of the best views from the seating here and the interiors are so amazing that you ll definitely want to get your camera out. Don t forget to look at the ceiling. Trust me you ll remember my review when you look up at the sky view bar. Just go see it.

This was a very exciting experience even before reaching the place.
As we reached the place, the excitement became DOUBLE. They have a lavish entry and since we had booked the drinks package from 9 pm to 11 pm that let us in. They have a huge lobby with everything luxurious. The detailing of the place from their carpet, to furniture, to ceiling, to lightings was absolutely perfect and, we wanted to look at it again and again... We were mesmerised by the entire vibe and decor of the place. Our booking was for the sky view restaurant and we were escorted well at the bar. The staff was absolutely HOSPITAl towards us.
The entire feel of being on the top most floor and viewing the entire city down from there was MARVELLOUS. We were given a menu on which we were asked to order our drinks along with 1 starter each. The experience of drinking there along with my group was astonishing .. The starters which came were quite good in quality and taste..
Basically this place is to experience the luxury along with having a good time with your frnds or couple or family..
Overall a must visit place ....

Celebrated my birthday here at the restaurant and had the 4 course dinner set. Service was attentive, but we felt rushed through our courses, as while we were spooning our food into our mouths, the next course arrived and we were asked if it could be served.

We couldn t really see anything where we sat as it was night and we were facing the ocean.

I received a cake and a beautiful rose because it was my birthday. It was a lovely surprise.

Not bad overall, but expected a better experience.

The best and most expensive hotel 7stars !!!

The best and most expensive hotel 7stars !!!
Eat goods on the 27th floor!
2 hours for about 400 for 2 people.
There was food from the card with 2 choice dishes (picture).
Food was delicious and not overcooked, everything tasted very good!
The service is unique! We have never experienced anything like that before!
Very attentive and very professional, you never saw them but if you wanted something they were already there as if by magic. I think they can read thoughts .
The lobby is huge and just awesome!
So if you have something important to celebrate then you go right there. Of course with reservation!

My husband and I booked a table for an afternoon tea at 4:15PM on October 23rd,2019 they explained the seven course service, BUT TEA WAS NEVER MENTIONED, THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE EXPERIENCE WAS NON EXISTING. they never offered to us. By 5:30pm I asked and that's when I learned I could asked for it at any time... being my first time we waited to be offer it. WE were not the only ones, the table next to us experienced the same thing. BIG, BIG, BIG lack of service for a $400 US dollars tea, it was extremely over priced. They really ruined our day that day. Hope they provide better training to their employees so they make sure guest are informed about the service and that TEA is available at any time during your two hours booking.
I was really, really sad.

Non alcoholic cocktail was amazing, great place for a special occasion!
Everything was top notch, including the service, I did however notice that the decor and finish are starting to show their age. This especially stands out as everything else is perfect.
A unique experience, and worth the $$ in my opinion!

the drinks served in this place are crazy, delicious and with an excellent presentation, but to take into account it is a rather expensive place, approximately 50 USD for 1 drink. It's just a bar with some snacks to eat

My wife hosted my birthday surprise dinner at Skyview Bar & Restaurant, located inside Burj al Arab on 27th floor. The place was cozy and romantic. At night it's not possible to see outside properly so it's recommended to visit in the day time. The menu was average with pricey dishes. Mostly people come here for drinks as it's a bar also. Overall it's quite expensive though.

Drinks/Cocktails: Huge selection... If you like Rum as a base there will be something for everyone.
Atmosphere: Dark, pirate ship-ish, super kitchy = Pretty rad!!
Service: Pretty rude for not being busy. But meh, I'll live. Lol

Overall: Should go at least once!
It's a small space & the lines get ridiculously long over the weekends... like.... you may not get in after waiting an hour, long.... Go on a non-peak night? Great place but not worth that wait imo.

Sky Tea an experience for life!

Sky Tea an experience for life!

My wife and I visited the world famous Bur Al Arab for afternoon tea at the Sky View Bar located on the 27th floor. This is a very expensive treat (AED 620 per person) but worth every penny! This is one of the most iconic buildings in the world and to see it from outside is great, but to visit and experience the hospitality and outstanding service is another thing!

Book the 4pm sitting so you can admire the beautiful sunset. Book a window table (no guarantee so arrive early - 30 minutes before). The best seats are those on the right hand side of the restaurant with view of the coastline and towards Bur Khalifa (worlds tallest building).

You have plenty of time to admire and take amazing photos in the outstanding lobby before/after the Sky Tea. See my attached photos from the Sky Tea area and the lobby - and you will understand why I mean Sky Tea in this world famous hotel is worth every penny!

Highly recommended!
