Historical landmark great place for the queer people of Toronto and visitors

This place should be an historical landmark. It's THE place to go for all things queer and inclusive.

This is an awesome Theatre but on Saturdays it kicks into high gear and becomes a Gay Dance Club and Drag show!!

The venue tries to be too many things and does nothing truly well. Awkward entrances, staircases make for a confusing experience that negatively impacts any event.

All of the youth workshops I've been to have helped me achieve my creative goals. I've learned a lot from scriptwriting to character development to movement exercises. My network of contacts has expanded in general since I starting going to the creation gyms as well. Plus through buddies there's so many opportunities for emerging artists to present their work and get exposure.

Best theatre in the city. Cutting edge productions and festivals.

The bar could use a bit of a reno but I suppose it adds to the historical nature of the venue. I ve seen a few shows/plays at Buddies and it s always a good time. So happy this theatre has existed for as long as it has. Hope it continues to do so long into the future.

Pop music with lyrics to dance on Saturday night and awesome plays earlier on the night.

I've been here on a few occasions and everytime, without fail, I have an absolute blast. This is one of the few spaces I feel genuinely safe and comfortable. If you're queer and looking for a party look no further

Toronto's independent LGBTQ live theatre with interesting and well-produced programming.

Buddies has the best bartenders in the city, and in terms of entertainment, the season lineups are incredible, and programming in the cabaret is amazing. The best in LGBT cabaret, stage, and other alternative events Toronto has to offer in my opinion and it's in a beautiful space. I've felt at home here for 10 years and counting. Both as a performer and as an audience member.

The only gay bar worth a damn in Toronto! The music is only the pop and dance you actually want to hear, the queens are all amazing, and both the ladies and men's rooms have urinals. It's a theatre, but on Saturday they take out the seats and set the world on fire! Get to Buddies next Saturday!

A legendary Canadian theatre. Programming is of high quality and progressive. Highly recommended.

I've been to plays and cabarets and just went to my first baby dance party. This place welcomes everyone with an open mind. The biggest improvement would be to clean up the bathrooms!

Great performance venue! Very inclusive space, and hot spot for queer performers in the city. One of my favorite places to be for dancing and live entertainment.

My first time going to Buddies was during Pride and it was great! Line moved quickly, lots of security and people to keep things moving. The line at the bar was long, I think they could have used one more bartender. The music was great and the bathrooms were functional. We met new friends while dancing.

Always a great venue to watch shows and go to parties at!

Great theatre company producing and developing local new work by queer artists. They offer support for the community and for youth. It's a positive place for LGBTQ people and POC.

Love this place. Its different. When one needs to get out of core church gay scene. Amazing drag performances. Newly renovated washrooms. Just that the bar is located as such that if it gets a little crowded, the movement in and out can get blocked too.

Alternative and experimental theatre st its finest.

Lovely park next door. Industrial feel on the inside. Theatre is super hip. Also has a cabaret theatre. You never know what you're gonna see :-)

Wonderful atmosphere! I saw Our Fathers, Sons, Loved and Little Brothers and Makambe was phenomenal! Buddies is a great placr to see moving performances in a cozy and welcoming space. I love its location, close to the subway and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely be coming again.

Licensed for liquor this venue boasts several theater size rooms allowing the venue to change size as needed. Stop by in the evenings and the theater turns into a dance club.
