I have used Budd for any moving project I have had for over twenty years that I didn't do myself. Amazingly, the same guy at Budd, Alan, has been my contact all these years. The company has always done good work. Prompt, clean, responsive. Alan is always trying to find solutions and seems to be available 'round the clock. Only company I will use for moving.
Transparent process, frequent check-ins, open communication. very professional and courteous staff, exemplary work ethic, fast and efficient, the crew made the move less stressful with their enjoyable interactions with the customers. the crew was very hard and speedy working but also very careful with our belongings, courteous and professional. Jeff the driver and his crew are an example of professionalism, work ethic, attitude, and accountability. They are going above and beyond in their daily jobs to make the move less stressful for the customer. It has truly been a pleasure working with this crew and we are highly recommending their services.
A driver of this company was driving down my block and pulled down my cable wire along with my gutter to my house also pulling up some shingles on my roof. The driver got out of this truck and tried to hide the wires and my gutter in the bushes in front of my house! Not seeing that my brother was sitting on the front porch. When my brother told them that he has to call the police because this was known as a car accident the driver of the vehicle started telling my brother that he was only calling the police because he was colored which is not true at all. My dad filed a police report and waited weeks to hear back from someone. We finally heard back from someone today after the appraiser looked at the house about a week and a half ago. The appraiser claimed that the wires were hanging down to low so it is not the drivers fault! Which is completely wrong! How can they say that the wires were low to the ground when they weren t even up anymore? They told my dad that they are not paying for any damages done to the house because it is not their drivers fault that it s Comcast fault for not maintaining the height of their wires. Our next step is contacting a lawyer to take legal actions.
It is my sincere pleasure to share my experiences with your organization. In the past 6 years, I have gone through 4 (including this recent move) work related relocations. My wife and I have come to expect to receive damaged or missing goods, delayed deliveries, and limitless frustration. However, Budd Van Lines and the wonderful team you have representing your organization, have made us see the brighter side of relocating. Starting with the Move Coordinator, Sarah Castronovo, every one we dealt with was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and understanding. Sarah was simply super! She was always there to answer any questions. The truck driver, Erik, seen to it that our belongings were cared for as if they were his own. We were lucky to have him on both ends of our move. Erik and the unloading crew were a pleasure to work with. My wife and I agree that we could not have had a better realtor than Bobbi Sherrill. As I previously stated, we have relocated 4 times in the past 6 years, Bobbi is the best realtor we have worked with and we ve had some good ones. She always knew what we needed before we could ask. We base our comments on 18 household goods shipments over 26 years in the Army including two overseas shipments. Budd Van Lines move was by far the best move we experienced.
Not happy. I think they hired a druggie to move my stuff. Some hillbilly named Wendy B. out of Neenah, WI. I will NEVER do business with this company again. All she did was cuss and talk about how her "old man" cheated on her with prostitutes! -

In brief, my company needed me to move to my new location within two weeks of offer acceptance. As you can imagine, this was stressful as I wasn t prepared to relocate states. Ashley Kelly, the move coordinator, was phenomenal. Her calm demeanor and sense of urgency made the most difficult part of my relocation stress free. She scheduled my home pre-move inspection quickly and consistently stayed in contact with me throughout the process. When Ashley was not in the office, Gabriella Gerber stepped right in to continue communication to ensure my quick move was as stress free as possible. Secondly, the crew who packed my belongings and delivered my household goods was absolutely amazing. Jennifer Bedwell, Craig Gamroth and Jonathan Nelson were professional, hard-working and committed to delivering quality customer service. When they arrived to my TX home on December 17th, we found one of my vehicles had a dead battery. Craig and Jon not only attempted to jump start my vehicle, they installed a new battery. Having an operating vehicle was essential to complete the third party transport. I am very appreciative for Craig and Jon going above and beyond. It was also a delight to see their three smiling faces again in MD. The crew packed my belongings and labeled the boxes as if they were packing their own belongings. It s just three days later and I ve already unpacked 50% of my house. My progress is a testament to the level of organization of the crew. Thanks for assigning a stellar crew to my relocation. really really disappointed, they were chosen by my employer and it started out good but they contracted with a 3rd party to crate several pieces, one being a one of a kind very expensive bust. when my household goods were delivered they were supposed to unpack and haul away, the guys were in such a hurry several small items ended up lost. Unfortunately a crate was missing with my favorite irreplaceable piece. How do you lose a crate? Then the insurance wanted to give me pennies on the dollar because I couldn't locate the receipt. just disappointed in the lack of professionalism.
3 Employees go through the WAWA on Trooper RD in Audubon, PA this morning, none wearing masks. Literally the only people in the WAWA not wearing masks. An elderly man said something to one of them, who just responds with "Mind your own business". "Mind your own business" guy had a bandana across his head. Very fashionable. Too much of an advanced maneuver to cover his face in the middle of a pandemic that has killed over 140,000 people.
I am only writing this review now, almost two years after my move from Dallas, TX to Portland, OR. Today was the final straw and I had to write a review of my terrible experience with this company. Full disclosure, my company paid for the move, but they still should have received a large refund based on the extremely poor performance. The last straw was when I was looking for the hardware to re-attach my refrigerator handles. The fridge had been in storage for the last year and a half and we are now looking to sell it as it's practically brand new and we don't need it. You would think that, when packing us up, they would have packaged the attachment hardware either with the handles or the fridge. It is nowhere to be found. This has happened countless times. Even on the day the unload team moved us in to our Portland home, there was so much trouble finding hardware, they actually left several items unassembled. They also broke two of our kitchen table chairs. I understand things happen. On that day, a representative from the local unload company showed up, took pics of the chairs and said someone would be in touch to repair them. I never heard from anyone and ended up spending the $300+ to replace them. The unload team was definitely in a rush and left things unfinished, but promised they would be looking for missing items and making things right. Far from it. I've moved several times in the last 10 years, both locally and out-of -state and the real problem is, you don't know whether it was a good job or a bad one until you start trying to find things. I tipped the crew very nicely and really regretted it. If I move again, I will insist on using another company beside Budd Van Lines.

I ve moved with Budd Van Lines 3 times in the last 18 months, and I ve had very inconsistent experiences. Communication was spotty with each- being asked for the same information multiple times even though it was provided previously via email, having to reach out for updates on when my movers would arrive due to radio silence from the company, being told a delivery date only for them to decide they couldn't navigate after they had arrived.
In my most recent move, the delivery team did not abide by CDC guidelines and did not wear masks or ask if I preferred that they put them on. Since the fate of all my belongings were in their hands, I didn t feel comfortable bringing it up to them. The team unpacked most of my stuff, but I was ready to get them out of my home as quickly as possible, so some boxes were left unpacked. The delivery lead provided incorrect guidance that even though I was signing off on the delivery paperwork, that I d still have time to submit claims for any lost or damaged items (which had been my experience moving with Budd the previous 2 times). Once I realized what all was missing, my claim was denied based on me signing off on the paperwork (which is exactly what the driver guaranteed would not happen). After arguing with the company, they reimbursed me for half of the amount of my missing items as a gesture of customer service and acted as though it was not a big deal.
Moving is a stressful process, and working with Budd only added to the stress. I ll use another company for my next move.

Nancy, our coordinator, took care of all the logistics and checked in often to make sure everything was going well. So helpful to have same team pack and move. They were very efficient and were protective of our newly finished floors which we greatly appreciated. Overall a really good experience, Bill McCarthy and his team are the best we've had in our 4 moves!
Due to the sudden move the first survey was inaccurate but Budd Van lines coordinated with me to be able to move exactly what I needed. I appreciated their cooperation with my changes and prompt delivery of my household goods.
One box was a bit over stuffed and digital equipment did not look like it was packed correctly but it was not damaged in the move. Would of preferred that they had been packed individually.
I appreciated that this company was able to deliver my household goods in a earlier time frame than the previous one I had chosen. (not pertaining to Bud Vann Lines) Also it would be appreciated that moving companies would at least notify the client or inform prior to obtaining them when their busy season is so as to expect a delay in delivery or attempt to find a moving location sooner.
Isidro Espinal and crew did a fabulous job. Isidro exuded confidence and leadership and took care of our house like it was his own...maybe better. He was polite and on time. Thanks for the successful relocation.
ZERO! WARNING AFTER THEY UNLOAD THE TRUCK BEWARE DO NOT SIGN THEIR FORMS ON DELIVERY WITHOUT CROSSING OUT THAT ALL WAS IN GOOD CONDITION INCLUDING THE PREMISES! LOOK FOR DAMAGE TO DOORS WALLS FLOORS DRIVEWAY ETC. THEY WILL USE THAT AGAINST YOU AND SAY YOU SIGNED ALL WAS GOOD AND DIDN'T TELL THEIR DRIVER! UNPACK EVERYTHING FIRST AND INSPECT YOUR HOME FOR CARELESS DAMAGE! BUY EXTRA INSURANCE FOR THE MOVE! We have used several moving companies for moves that did a good job. Not this company, when we arrived and discovered seriously damaged furniture and items. They have tried to pay nothing for repair. They did not use pros they used day laborers to pack load and unload who we saw getting paid cash on our driveway and they were unprofessional and careless and tried to hide damage by covering property damage with items you won t see until later. They were incompetent and deceptive by trying to cover up damage. If Budd Van Lines had completely taken care of the damages they are responsible for causing I would not have rated them low. My true rating is zero.
Tony and John were great on both ends of my move from Oklahoma to Alabama. The local guys they brought in to assist at each location were equally as professional. Frequent check ins and communication was awesome throughout the process.
They did great to work within our timing constraints and were friendly and easy to work with.
We got estimates from four nationally known moving companies and Budd offered the best service at the best price to move us from NJ to PA. We didn't expect this, but they gave us all of the boxes, packing paper and tape we needed for free! They put out protective floor coverings for both the house we were leaving and the house we bought, and handled everything carefully. Now that we've unpacked we can see that not a single item or piece of furniture is damaged in any way. They even took apart and reassembled an antique armoire! Does it get any better than this? Covid caused our new house to be delayed, so Budd stored our belongs for six months longer than we had planned. Their fee was very reasonable and as stated, nothing was damaged in any way. We received premium service at a very competitive price and we highly recommend Budd Van Lines!
Made my move from WA to CA really easy and hassle free. Roger and MaryBeth were both very professional and have exceptional customer service skills. I was really impressed when our driver, Roger, found out we would need to use a small truck to shuttle to the new house(meaning he would need to move everything an extra time from the big truck to a small one). Roger told us it wouldn't be a problem and made the arrangements, without getting frustrated or making us feel like it was an extra burden. I will definitely use Budd again for our next move.

What an amazing experience we had with Budd Van Lines. We have never had a moving company move us so we didn't know what to expect. We heard many horrible stories from others and I was extremely nervous. Todd Mendoza was our driver and WOW talk about putting my mind at ease. He's incredible and his crew was great. They went above and beyond to make sure our things were taken care of. This will be the first move (out of 9) we have no furniture broken. We haven't been about to unpack every box yet but I'm not even worried. I don't think I could ever move again and not have Todd at Budd Van Lines. Your care, respect, attention to details and character are top class. I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU!!
This was "white-gloved" service. I have moved many times and this is the second move in which Budd Van Lines excelled in what it does. My coordinator Sara was exceptional in staying in touch about the move, answering all my questions and constantly checking in with me to make sure that the process went smoothly for me. I can't say enough good things about Sara.
The driver/leader Derick went above and beyond to take care of my goods and help me with anything that needed to be done. He was exceptional in his work ethics and made sure that everything was done efficiently. Derick was very respectful and considerate of my time because I needed to work while they were packing the house. He made it easy for me to continue doing whatever I needed to do. His crew was amazing in how they accomplished everything and that too with a smiling face. They were kind and never imposed on me in any way. The best crew ever!
Just as extreme care was taken while packing everything, extreme care was taken with unpacking and setting up my household goods. During the whole process, they worked efficiently and quickly without rushing. They were careful, friendly and happy doing the hard work with a wonderful demeanor. Amazingly, nothing broke or even mishandled considering that I had many fragile or precious items.
I would use all the superlatives for this company, the coordinator and the crew. I have used Budd van Lines before for a move (in 2003) and I was quite impressed then. The second time, they were even better. This is a 2 for 2 score of 100% satisfaction (or 500% if that was possible). I would use the company (and would request the same crew) for all my future moves. I would highly recommend the company to anyone who is moving. Absolutely the best ever!!!!!!

My moving experience on both ends was seamless. The teams were so energetic and friendly. My belongings were in good hands and it lowered my stress level. Flawless packing and shipping. First of over 15 moves (career Military) that nothing was damaged (incl 2 motorcycles) or missing. Crews on both ends were professional and the agent who handled the move stayed in contact from set up and after delivery. Impressive
We worked with Budd van lines to move us from Portland, Oregon to Austin, Tx. Our driver, Jesus Esquivel, showed up on time and always seemed to have everything under control. I noticed him walking around the house several times, just to ensure things were getting done correctly. I would recommend Budd Van Lines, but I REALLY liked Jesus and his staff he brought with him.
"There is only one moving company and it is BUDD Van Lines." Second time I utilized BUDD to move me. I furnish my home with family heirlooms many made in Italy for grandmother's dowry. BUDD is the only company I entrust to move these pieces and my other belongings. First move from Chicago, IL to Houston, TX no breakage, not one chip. Second move Houston to near-Orlando, FL. with the same great result not a scratch. My latest move crew leader, Jesse Esquivel, is a true professional. I found Jesse to be a personable, honest, and an effective leader. His crew respected him and followed his direction. Jesse is a kind man that took the needed care with my possessions as if they were his own. The BUDD headquarters coordinator Alicia DeVito stayed in continuous communication with me from day one, kept me informed on the planners scheduling, checking if times and dates worked with my schedule too as I was flying back to pack my home. Alicia actually called me one time just to see how I was doing! The cost was reasonable especially when considering the great and consistent results. By the way I recommended BUDD to my sister, she has utilized them and had the same experience. BUDD is in the moving business and they earn their good reputation!
Terry Anderson and his crew were very efficient, gentle with our belongings, kind to our kids, considerate of our stressful moving situation, clean, quick and very helpful when we had questions about storage. This move was our first move out of state and they managed it very well, which made things for me and my family so much smoother. A driver for this company has been using my culdesac to turn his truck/trailer around each day. Today they drove through my yard, up to a couple feet in from the curb, and left huge ruts. They drove over a drainage element as well. No one attempted to make contact with me, I happened to see the damage myself and went up the street to talk to the driver. I asked him why they chose to turn the truck around in my yard as opposed to backing the truck about 100' down the street from the main road. It sounded like backing the truck would be too difficult for this particular driver, despite the fact that this maneuver is clearly the best plan and would pose less risk to property. I was given a business card and told to call the main office, I did not detect much remorse. I asked the Driver not to come through my yard tomorrow morning and was not given an affirmative response. I called the main office and was sent to voicemail. Unprofessional service, don't trust them with your property.
UPDATE: Yes I was contacted by the claims department and will update this review with the final outcome.

I was overall very satisfied with the level of communication. My move coordinator checked in with my on the first day (Sunday) and was in constant communication throughout the process. The service provided by the crew was excellent. They arrived on time, surveyed and began right away. The care in packing our items was excellent.
I am going to state for a fact that your moving folks from coordinators to the crew have been the best thing ever in this move. Professional, friendly, adaptive, communicative, on time, and excellent care.The crew today faced a down pour of rain and didn t hurt themselves (most important) nor our items. I wouldn't recommend them. my furniture came in 2 shipments. one shipments went from Columbus to Dallas to Arkansas so my furniture was damaged in their warehouse. I been working with Kenneth klimchock to replace my damaged furniture for weeks with no resolution yet. the driver and his helper were very nice. but their claim department value the penny more than the customer

Budd Van lines was assigned to our family as part of a company relocation from PA to MN.
This is my 4th relocation and it was absolutely the worst. The driver could not even commit to a date for short term delivery and was 3 days late. Stuff were just stuffed in boxes. Furniture has dings and scratches.
When we filed a claim, they did not take responsibilty and reimbursed only 20% of the actual damage. I would never move with this company again and will enforce they stay of of my relo - packages in the future.

They were professional, pleasant and very hard working. Our move went PERFECTLY!!!! We did not find an item that had been broken or damaged. The packing job was very good. This moving team provided the best relocation we have ever had. (four and counting?). These guys are pros at providing a great moving experience. Worst experience with moving. My family moved across country. We thought they did well packing but we didn't watch close. Our items had to go into storage because our house was not ready. When we scheduled delivery, they didn't show. I missed 2 days of work waiting on them. They said they had a driver shortage. Gary said he would compensate me 400.00 to get hotel and take wife out. That never showed up. When items arrived, they wrecked my newly remodeled homes walls, put hole in wall, furniture is broken and missing tons of items. We found our china packed with a bowling ball. We have waited 2 months for them to repair my home and they still don't have it together. I sent several emails and they keep saying they will check on it... don't use them.
BEWARE! Will scam you out of your money. Do not use this company. Relocated for job and most of my items were missing but the claims guy Kenneth wouldn't compensate me for most of the loss and damages. He wouldn't get back to me unless I kept babysitting him to do his job. The movers were very rude about staying late. They will grossly overestimate your move weight and scam you out of thousands and thousands of dollars. Don't sign anything of theirs. Would give 0 stars. STAY AWAY!!!
The Team led by the driver (Jose) were phenomenal. I have moved many times in a 21 year Navy career and been relocated 4 times in the last 10 years for business. This is the best move I've experienced in all that time. Jose was on top of everything and very easy to work with during the process. Lisa did a fantastic job coordinating everything and working with my wife on scheduling. She definitely alleviated a lot of stress for my wife.

Terrible moving job. We used Budd Van Lines through a corporate relocation and they were terrible. If you want your company to waste thousands of dollars on boxes stuffed full with paper and little else, then use this company. Besides all of the broken items we unpacked, including a very expensive executive desk which one of the movers dropped in front of us on the concrete sidewalk, I unpacked things like this: dozens and DOZENS of small, single items wrapped in massive sheets of moving paper (like 2 ballpoint pens wrapped in 6 large sheets and 1 staple remover in 2 large sheets of such paper and -- no kidding -- a binder clip -- wrapped in 4 large sheets of packing paper). At the same time they overwrapped and overpacked the tiniest, inexpensive, nonfragile items, they wrapped expensive items carelessly -- like putting one small sheet of paper around a DVD player. Not to mention that they took stacks of documents I had neatly organized and labelled, separated them, and used them as packing for the inside tops of the boxes. They broke a lamp and packed it, broken, without telling us it was broken - which made the damage worse. They broke dozens of expensive items, all the while smiling and saying yes to everything we asked - while doing practically nothing that we asked.
Very pleased. I was impressed by how professionally Budd Van Lines handled my move. Budd provided a top notch, highly experienced crew and who provided exceptional customer-oriented support with packing, transporting, unloading and set-up of my household goods. At our new home we have a very steep driveway that cannot accommodate a large moving van. Budd made special arrangements for shuttling using a smaller truck at the bottom of the hill and this worked out exceptionally well, with great care to our furniture and set-up in the new home. Our move coordinator (Marybeth) also checked in frequently to make sure all was going ok. Overall, an A+ for the Budd Team in my opinion!! Thank you.

Bryan and Denise helped us with our move from Jacksonville to Dallas. Extremely professional, hired a great packing crew and were a pleasure to deal with. Would not only recommend them but if needs arises to move again would request them.
We moved our 85 year old parents from PA to CA and it was a hard process for them. I did all the work from CA and everyone was so helpful. Budd has amazing with all the questions I had and everyone from Alan, Alicia and the drivers and their helpers in PA and CA were great. I'd use them again if I had to. Thank you everyone at Budd for making this move so easy. You are the BEST!!!!
Communication was frequent and helpful. Sarah was very helpful and kind. The moving crew (esp. Sherrod!) were professional and courteous, taking great care to protect my belongings. Sherrod showed up when he was scheduled, and moved my things in with a great deal of care and a great attitude. Even though it was pouring down rain, there was no mess in my house and all my stuff was dry and clean. My experience with Budd Van Lines has been nothing but positive from start to finish. The staff, specifically Sara and Sherrod, have been top-notch. Good job!
From the first minute I made a call to this company, Al Bronstein, the salesperson took care of me. They made it happen. They accommodated the exact day I needed to move. Al came in to scope what had to be moved and coordinated everything. The moving foreman, Manny Melendez was great. He came in also the day before to see what had to be moved. They were punctual on the moving day. They even came in an hour earlier to get started. They killed themselves to bring heavy fitness equipment down from the second floor from a steep stairwell. I cannot say good enough things about them. Really!Because of this covid pandemic situation, a lot of moving companies aren t doing anything. Hard to find a quality moving company that knows what they are doing. A lot moving companies during this time gave me false promises and bailed out the last second with every excuse from A to Z. If you want an accountable moving company, I highly recommend Budd Van Lines.
Previous moves had left me convinced that the only way to be sure that things would be done properly and on time, was to do it ourselves. Now I am absolutely sure that the only way to move is with Randy Patrick and his crew with Budd Van Lines. They were stellar professionals. They didn t touch a thing in the house until every surface was protected; walls, stairs, handrails, tile, hardwood, carpets, doors. They proceeded like a well oiled machine, room by room, calmly, organized, and sticking to schedule. When they were done, they cleaned up after themselves, even swept the floors. When we unpacked, nothing was damaged. I believe that this was as close as you can get to a stress free move.
Had them assigned as part of a corporate relocation from Texas to Idaho. It started ok, they did take car to cover the walls and floors during the packing, however it quickly became clear that they had significantly underestimated the size of the move. The move was scheduled to take 2 days of packing and one of loading. On the 3rd day they still weren't done loading, we kept the main office informed that they were running significantly behind and expressed our concern since we had fly out the day after they were scheduled to be done around noon. However, instead of sending a larger crew or giving the crew one more day to finish the move (we were forced to leave before they had even started the loading) they instead opted to force the crew to work until midnight. Needless to say the crew was not happy with that and this resulted in many broken belongings and careless packing. Examples include footboard being broken apart instead of screws removed, 12 oz food cans packed on top of blow glass vase and ceramics (needless to say they all broke), kids yard toys being broken apart instead of disassembled etc. Since we had to fly out before the house was empty we couldn't clean it (it was still listed for sale and being shown at the time), the driver promised to clean when he was done, but due to the late hour he didn't (we later learned from friends we had go check on the house there were empty bottles and trash all over the floor, I understand he didn't feel like doing a clean at midnight, but at least pick up the empty bottles...).
And of course Budd doesn't handle their claims on their own so we will have you deal with their insurance company instead (they don't even forward the 20 page bill of laden, you have to copy it yourself and include it with your claim) - we all know how lovely it is to work with insurance company claims departments.
We previously moved from Europe to the US using another moving company without a single thing being broken, so it is possible to make a move without braking anything.

Our driver Jaime was professional and courteous. Although his truck hit a snag early, he maintained his composure and worked efficiently. His work was outstanding.

We used Budd Van Lines to move from Chicago to Boston. I would recommend them to anyone looking for either local or cross-country moving service. They are a family-oriented company that prides themselves on the commitment to their customers. Many moving companies make that claim but their actions don't back the claim. That is not the case with Budd Van Lines.
We had an incident with the driver when our stuff arrived in Boston. They took every action possible, even escalating the complainant to the top of the Company, addressing the issue. They went well above expectations. It's clear they pride themselves on the service they deliver and did not want what happened to happen ever again. Every other part of their service was excellent. They were the first to respond to the request for a quote and had fully adopted to the virtual environment when we did the walkthrough. The movers packing our stuff were quick, consider and diligent.
I would like to specifically recommend Doug and Kelli who were my primary contacts. They were both incredibly helpful. We had a leg on a desk break during the transportation to the warehouse. Kelli immediately informed us about incident and started the claim process for us.
I have had nightmare moving experiences before, so I was grateful when Budd Vann Lines actively took action. There are a lot of bad moving companies to avoid. If you want a seamless move from a great company then you should consider Budd Van Lines.
