Absolutely terrible to deal with, no communication on their end. Make sure you have confirmation numbers ect before getting off the phone with them. They won't stand by anything they tell you that you have done unless you can prove it.

I'm impressed. We lost power at 3:30 pm today in the midst of icy snow storm. Somehow immediate neighbors to the south and north of me still had power. I thought that meant we might be an isolated case with less repair priority than a large group of homes. Also, I didn't think anyone would be climbing telephone poles in this weather to mess with broken high voltage wires or transformers. Three hours later the power came back on. We were facing a long, hungry, and dark night camped out by the fireplace. What a pleasure to have that power, which we so easily take for granted, restored so quickly. Thanks!
During storms and other severe weather, BTU, like most utility companies, takes an "all hands on deck" approach, sending out tons of crews to restore power as quickly as possible. But with the winter storm of mid-February 2021, BTU implemented extended blackouts (not just the limited rolling blackouts recommended by the state) and failed to mobilize all their crews to work overtime to keep power on in the Brazos Valley. BTU failed the citizens of the Brazos Valley and didn't take seriously how much more dangerous it was for their customers to go without power under extreme low temps than it would be for their professional repair crews to negotiate the icy conditions. Again, BTU failed the people of the Brazos Valley.
This is the only electric company here so they charge out the high..they say they will work with you when you can't pay your bill but they still charge you $20 every time you either get disconnected or even ask for an extension. They do not even come out to the house to turn your electric on they expect you to go out there with a TV remote to do it yourself but still charge you $20 for taking care of that yourself. it's absolutely outrageous and considering the times that we're in right now it's ridiculous that they keep adding fees on to people when they know you are already having problems paying. Highly disappointed in this company but complaining will not help anyone. They know you have no choice but to use them.
I give them a 1 that the best i can do because when it storms and you live the south of town your lights get cut off ever hour on the hourjust long enought to heat you house up and the lights are off there a bunch of elderly people living near by freezeing and they could care less
Had BTU for almost three years and found the prices to be VERY fair compared to the rest of Texas and absolutely loved one bill for all services. When we needed a new trash can one came the next day. Great service and well run company.
I have had some problems with BTU billing, but I got an email and a call from Elsa today and she took care of all my concerns. I am very impressed that BTU contacted me, and especially that a caring representative, Elsa, handled my problem. I'm surprised and impressed..
