As a new family to Browne this year, we have been amazed at the level of education, the interactive learning environment & the true sense of community. So glad that we moved to this excellent, top level school!

Browne is a wonderful place to work and for students to thrive! As a music teacher I'm constantly impressed at the support for the arts from the administration and from parents. We offer many music programs that give children a variety of experiences they may not have at other similar schools. I couldn't recommend Browne more!

We just finished our first year and had a wonderful experience. We had one son in the lower school and one son in the upper school. Both of our sons developed academically. The small class size allows for flexibility and lots of individual attention (fifth grade academics had 9 students per class and our son s learning and development really took off). The classes are able to cover a lot of material in fun and interesting ways. We loved the enrichment program (our son took photography and participated in a string ensemble) and sports programs. Our third grader found a nurturing and challenging environment and loved, loved, loved going to school each and every day. Although no school is perfect, we found the teachers and students at Browne to be really kind (the students were the ones during a soccer game checking to make sure a hurt student on another team was ok). We also watched as Browne students genuinely congratulated other teams for winning. We looked at lots of schools and what sets this school apart is a kind and inclusive community that really does focus on letting each student find his/her way and best self. Our sons really learned this year to participate and to try hard even if you aren t the best at (or think you don t like) something - and at the same time to really push in those areas where you have a talent and things come easily. We had a great year and look forward to more.

Browne Academy is an amazing school community that has a long, rich history in Alexandria, VA. Browne's faculty and staff are caring and well-versed in what young people need in order to achieve individual success academically. As a member of the Browne community, I have felt welcomed at the school since the first day I arrived on campus and I have enjoyed getting to know all of the families that make Browne Academy such a special place.

It s the first year for our twins and we love the school. They have grown so much in 4 months. The community is fantastic. Everybody knows everybody. The children are doing very well. I can t believe how well, for preschool they both are doing. We couldn t have made a better choice.

We are fortunate to have a child enrolled at Browne Academy. The school s talented staff and teachers give it their all and the family community is uncommon where students (and parents) form bonds of friendship that extend outside the classroom without any pressure to do so.

The teachers, staff, and administrators are truly supportive of all students and are focused on how each student can excel. The communication between educators and parents, in our experience, is second to none. All care about each student s social and academic advancement and enjoyment of learning. Each student gets individual attention no doubt in part due to the studied small class sizes.

After graduating from Browne Academy, I feel fully equipped for any challenge in life. I formed such a family with the small community, being there for 8 years, I still continue the friendships I made there. I am currently a student in my junior year at Bishop Ireton High School, where I enjoy participating in 2 National Honors Societies, 3 AP Classes, being the leader of a club, and Varsity soccer. The skills I learned at Browne extend beyond the classroom- you form your conscience, learn empathy, time-management, and how to create lasting relationships with not only peers but teachers. I thank my parents and the wonderful teachers at Browne Academy for making me who I am today.

I joined the Browne Academy team last year and there is an incredible sense of community. Being completely new to the area I felt like everyone (staff, teachers, and parents) reached out and made me feel at home whether it was an invitation to dinner or a recommendation for a dentist. I am always impressed with how teachers go the extra mile to support the school community. It just feels different compared to most places.

Our son has been at Browne Academy for the past three years. We are without a doubt thankful to all the teachers that have been a part of our son s life. The classroom teachers are excellent and they are highly invested in the student s well-being. They take an active role and as parents, we appreciate the open and consistent communication we have received.

Our son takes his time in new situations and his increased self-esteem is evident by the support he received not just from his classroom teachers, but from his other specialist teachers. The academics are equally matched in challenging his interests by these teachers who incorporate Art, Music, Technology, and PE in his school day. The solid foundation he has received is enabling him to feel confident in academics and exploring his personal interests. We love that he gets to enjoy his childhood surrounded by the genuine and caring community at Browne Academy.

I also had the pleasure of attending the 8th grade graduation last week. Each graduate spoke about their time at Browne and thanked the teachers that made an impact on their lives. It was clear that these students have had positive influences to speak so eloquently, confidently, and from the heart. There were numerous boxes of tissues being passed around! We look forward to the day when our son walks across that stage!
