Went to Chicago for a weekend - had dinner there once and my friends convinced me for us to go back for Sunday brunch. Brunch was my favorite - location is amazing right on the river...met the owner super nice very polite and professional...for sure worth it to swing by - but make sure to make a reservation - place is packed!
The food was huge portions and delicious, the atmosphere was great. We were here for an engagement party. Katie was our waitress she was great. The owner got us free shots for the party ($150 worth ) . view was great

Really friendly, efficient and courteous too. I was actually a bit surprised at how good. My expectations were lower just because this was in a tourist area.
Recently had dinner at this restaurant and we were seated outside. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend eating outside if you have the chance. The food was good, the drinks were great, and the view was fantastic! Watching the boats sail by was a beautiful way to eat dinner.
I've been here a few time when I visit Chicago. Great place to hang out by the river in the summer. Our last visit was for St Patrick's day. Great party! Put this one on your list, you won't be disappointed.

We got there and they had seats reserved, yet they refused to let us book a reservation on the phone. Once they resolved the issue and seated us, we were pleased with the service and drinks. Also the appetizers may seem exotic but they are really really good.
Such a fun beautiful place! Boats can pull up and get food and can bring a flavor of entertainment. There's a sweet private spot on the patio. Food is delicious and servers are professional, nice and attentive. If you have a chance to meet the owner it's a bonus as he's a regular great guy! !(happens to be easy on the eyes too)
Fantastic spot. The view is great and the food and service match it. Be prepared to spend some cash and you will do just fine. Most entrees are around 14-22, appetizers 8-14. Our meal was around 80 which is much higher than what I feel comfortable paying, but we went all out. Very pleased!

Great location, food and service. Only thing that took a star away from the review is the dirty dishes and utensils. They brought appetizer dishes and utensils. They still had food and dirty water marks on them. We sent them back and they brought a new set but was dirty again. We sent them back for the third time but then we got our main food so didn't need it anymore.
Had an after-work outing here and the food and beverages were spot on

Bridge House is great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a very delicious menu and great beers! Their outside space is awesome on nice days.
Great selection of Bourbon, and excellent service from our waiter Tony. We ordered a bunch of appetizers ("shareables" as they call them) and everything was delicious. Excellent view of the river, and very nice ambience!
Great if you are not a foreigner. They only accept passports for foreign ID and are rude. Owner probably voted for Trump.

I was thoroughly impressed by everything I ate & drank at this place. It's a decent view of the river and they do have outdoor seating. It's still open during construction but you will need to take the elevators down. I suggest getting a table near the window. The service was impeccable. They offer weeknight specials and it's a great deal. I went there on a Monday and the special included half-priced apps which is a bargain! I highly recommend getting the honey bacon popcorn (huge portion), oysters, pork belly, and shrimp & grits. As far as drinks go, I really enjoyed the moscow mule.

I am not a habitual reviewer, but after my experience at bridge house tavern, I felt compelled to give my feedback. My fiance and I stopped in for a drink and an app while visiting chicago. We were looking for a place to grab drinks by the river, and this place fit the bill.
We aren't traditionally beer drinkers but the waiter recommended some great ones. 30 min into our meal we were ushered inside because a storm was on its way. Less than 10 min later it was pouring and we were comfortable inside enjoying some great drinks and apps. A woman walked in, soaked from the rain, and she was offered bar towels with which to dry off and even an employee's spare sweater.
The service was awesome. Every one helped out (including other members of the wait staff other than the one assigned to us). It was a great experience with better than average food and great ambience. A suggested spot for anyone looking for a fun riverside experience.
Great food, impeccable service, cool location on the river
This is my first visit. It took a while to be seated. That was a drawback for me. But when we were served our food, which was not very long & it wasn't long for them to take the order, I was amazed. I've only tasted food that good twice this week. Very good. I got the turkey sandwich with American cheese. Mmm. Cosmin was a wonderful host.
Great view on the river's edge. Food portions are large but reasonably priced. This really a great place for date night, or just to unwind from the day.
on st. Patrick's day this is the place to go! the buffet is delicious. service is fast. drinks are affordable. only complaint is lack of seating but it's packed bc it's a huge party. look forward to next year!
The main reason I dined here is the view, and it was fantastic. The sandwiches were good and reasonably priced for the area.
Awful service. We had to ask for butter, jelly, and sugar. The waitress brought the butter and jelly in from the patio. It had obviously been sitting in the sun because the butter and jelly were liquid. My food came out on my husband's plate so I had to grab a place setting from the table next to us since I didn't have one. We waited forever for the food, and finally, the check. I complained about the liquid butter and hot liquid jelly at the front desk since I think this is a health issue.
Great spot for lunch. Right on the river with an unbelievable view. Nice bar with a large selection. Very was exceptional, fun creations.
The turkey burger and the Bridge House burger are both great lunch options. The portions are big and everything is cooked perfectly. The tots might be a tempting side, but the fries are really well done so I'd suggest those. I also love the location - so nice to enjoy the patio when it's nice out!
My favorite place in Chicago :) would give them a million stars. Great people, great food, great atmosphere.
This review is for brunch: we are new to Chicago and we're looking for a brunch place. We have found our place. $5 mimosas and bloody Mary's and great food. We wanted to order their strawberry cream waffles but they were all out!!!! We were a little confused as it was only 45 minutes after they opened but the waitress said they were busier than normal the day before...weird but whatever we found other items on the menu that we excellent. I had the smoked salmon BLT and it was very good and my husband had the French toast which looked like a dessert. We sat outside, which I recommend as it has a great view of the riverfront. There's a lot of good boat and people watching. We cannot wait to go back. I will say there could be a bit of a wait we got there around 10:30 and they open at 10 and we got one of the last outdoor spots.
The is absolutely fantastic. My food order was a couple of minutes late, and he personally apologized and didn't charge. Service and view, both were good. If you like oysters, I would suggest you go for the by weight/count, rather than the one frok appetizers/shareables menu (which are cooked)
Came here for happy hour with work -- the view and atmosphere is amazing! Great signature drinks to enjoy outside along the river. I recommend the muscles for an appetizer!

Just tell yourself: you're here for the view sitting by the river on a sunny afternoon or warm evening. Then the crowd? The price? The decent yet could have been better food and service considering the price? it's all with it.
Great food with a unique river front view. Friendly staff was able to accommodate a seating request without issue. The Filet Oscar was cooked perfectly medium rare. Perfect cozy atmosphere for a nice summer night downtown.
We had an awesome experience, had the most delicious appetizer: Fried mozzarella with baguette! Drinks were reasonable but pricy food. Great outdoor atmosphere on a nice day!

St. Patricks Day celebration was incredible!!!! Breakfast buffet was delicious. Fun drink specials. Awesome giveaways like shirts, hats, sunglasses, beads, coozies, etc. They also had an awesome Irish band come in! Highly recommend! Get their early to get a good view of the river!
Love the views -- long lines to wait for a table, and it's a little pricey, but you're paying for one of the coolest patios, sitting right on the river as all the boats go by.

Everything is great at BHT. Love going for Brunch. The fried chicken and waffles is amazing and so it is the corn beef hash and the pig trio biscuits and gravy. The place is a must go.

Surprising lack of wait, food was good, staff friendly
Stumbled into this place by accident. Suffering from an episode of hanger. Decent brunch menu and a couple good vegetarian selections! We got beignets as an app. They were meh. The dipping sauces were pretty bland. They were over fried and not super authentic. Our entrees were awesome though. I had the veggie hash that had a spectacular basil hollandaise. Bloody Mary's were really great and only 5 bucks. Can't beat that. Staff was super friendly!
I've been here three times for brunch, I'm writing this now after my third. I've had my hesitations coming here because they don't take reservations but they've always been able to seat me within 5 minutes of my and my party's arrival. I always go on the weekend because they have $5 mimosa's and bloody mary's specials and they have a kickin brunch menu with a spectacular view.

The staff went above and beyond when we dropped our phone behind the bench we were sitting at, and they pulled the entire thing out for us. It took about 5 guys to do it and had to move 3 tables out of the way (we came back just before closing when they were empty). Thank you Bridge House Tavern and I'm sorry for my clumsiness!

Beyond our expectations!! Ryan, owner, went out of his way to greet us & make us feel welcome. We were visiting briefly for the weekend & he sat with us discussing all the wonderful sites Chicago has to offer. Food was just as amazing!! We will be coming back for sure!! Amazing views & venue. I really wanted to score the Bridge House as 5-Star, but I simply cannot. The food is frankly stunning, the location is great, and the atmosphere and decor are 'just so'. The service, however, is more than a tad inept.
Following my initial order I was never asked if I wanted/needed another drink. During the meal my server inquired whether everything was alright while breezing past my table. This might ordinarily have been excused by the fact that she was rushed, but the place really wasn't all that packed.
After I'd finished eating I was basically ignored, without being offered a dessert menu, until I actually ended up having to ask for the bill.
It really is a shame, because everything else was basically perfect.
Food was good. Service not spectacular. I had to ask someone to get our waitress so we could order since no one came to our table after we were told we only had 10 minutes to order before kitchen closed. Yet the table next to us had 3 employees chatting doing nothing. So just ok.
Sad we missed out on the avocado chicken rolls. The watermelon salad was good however. Great ambiance. Awesome views.
