Brandon Artists Guild: Celebrating the Art and Soul of Vermont
Brandon, Vermont is a small town with a big heart. Known as “the art and soul of Vermont”, it’s no surprise that this charming community is home to an impressive collection of artists. Among them, the Brandon Artists Guild stands out as a beacon of creativity and inspiration.
Founded in 1999, the Brandon Artists Guild (BAG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the arts in Brandon and beyond. With over 50 members working in various mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, jewelry-making, fiber arts, and more – BAG represents some of the finest talent in Vermont.
The guild operates out of its own gallery space on Center Street in downtown Brandon. Here visitors can browse through an ever-changing selection of artwork from local artists. The gallery also hosts regular exhibitions featuring member artists as well as guest artists from around New England.
But BAG’s mission goes beyond just showcasing art – they are committed to fostering creativity within their community through education programs for all ages. From workshops on watercolor painting to classes on digital photography – there’s something for everyone at BAG.
One unique aspect of BAG is their Artist-in-Residence program which provides emerging artists with studio space and mentorship opportunities. This program not only supports young talent but also helps to keep fresh perspectives flowing into the guild.
In addition to their gallery space and educational programs, BAG also participates in various community events throughout the year such as Art In The Park – an annual outdoor art festival held each August that draws thousands of visitors from across New England.
But perhaps what sets BAG apart most is their commitment to sustainability. They have implemented numerous eco-friendly practices such as using LED lighting throughout their gallery space and recycling materials whenever possible.
Overall, the Brandon Artists Guild serves not only as a hub for artistic expression but also as a model for how communities can come together to support the arts in a sustainable way. Whether you’re an artist looking for inspiration or simply someone who appreciates the beauty of Vermont – BAG is a must-visit destination.
