Service department was great. Sales staff aggressively changing waiting room TV from CNN to Fox over objections with "I thought you might want to hear the truth for a change" was very off-putting.

I just bought a new Chevy Cruze from Chris at Braeger Chevrolet and it was a fantastic experience. Chris and all of the staff are personable and inviting right when you walk in and will do whatever they can for you. The paperwork was all explained very well by the Finance Department and they make sure you are completely satisfied before you leave. Highly recommended to everyone.

Absolutely awful and dishonest. I will start by saying two things; first, I am credit challenged and I was up front about that from the beginning. Second, I sold cars as a special finance director and internet sales manager for a number of years and I know the ins and outs of the business. That being said, I spoke with a salesman, Dan on the phone on a Wednesday evening. I explained my situation with my credit and my relatively limited income. Dan asked me to submit a credit application, which is pretty much standard operating procedure. I did, along with proof of income and a copy of my driver's license. Again, this is all standard and I had absolutely no problems with doing this. Dan said he was going to go to work on my deal with a couple different vehicles that they currently had on the lot. He told me all the great stories about getting people approved and into a vehicle who were worse off than I was, credit-wise. I knew the approval (known as a "call") they would get from the bank, if any, was going to be ugly. It was going to be a hard deal to get done. Again, I know this and I was very much up front. No problem, I was told repeatedly. I am also from Pleasant Prairie, and it would require my wife and I, along with our three children to make a trip up to Milwaukee; about 40 miles, to purchase the vehicle. I wanted to make sure that we could put something together before I packed up the crew and headed up.

I was strung along all weekend, but eventually told that the vehicle Dan had selected wouldn't work, but the good news was there are other vehicles that would probably work if I was open to other options of perhaps a bit smaller vehicle. I am in desperate need of a vehicle and at this point, a reliable 4 door with 5 seat belts are my only requirements.

I contacted Dan on Wednesday and he said that his sales manager was off the previous day, but he was going to go to work on the deal for me. He would get back to me. I heard nothing back. I had to be up in Milwaukee that day anyway, so I decided to stop by the dealership. I met with the sales manager, Darnell. Dan and Darnell were both very nice. I again asked them to just not waste my time. I have cash down, but challenging credit. Darnell told me "The good news is, we got you approved through GM Financial or Ally, I don't remember which one. But we got you approved and now we need to find the right car. We also got it approved with no cash down. Now that you have cash down, we will talk to the bank and find you a car."

Dan offered to show me a few things on the lot. I knew we weren't going to be walking out with a car that day, but we settled on a pre-owned Chevy Sonic. Dan said he and Darnell would work on it and let me know. The rest of Wednesday passed with no phone call. Then Thursday passed with no phone call. I finally sent Dan a text message on Friday asking if we had good news yet. His response blew me completely out of the water.

"I'm afraid not. Just checked w/ finance. You would definitely need a co-signer, even on the Sonic" was the response I received.

Having worked in the car business for a number of years, I know one of two things happened. Either Darnell was lying when he said that we were approved through GM Financial or the Finance and Insurance (F&I) folks realized there would be no room in the deal for back end product (warranty, gap insurance, etc.) which is how they make their money. They may not have wanted to take a deal that wouldn't pay them anything.

Either way, it is an absolutely dishonest business model. If I wasn't approved, then tell me that. If you can't help me, tell me that. Do not string me along, telling me that you have an approval when you don't. Simply, that is not how you do business.

My best piece of advice to Dan, who seems like an upstanding guy who did everything he could at the salesman level, is to find a dealership that doesn't play these games with people. Find a place that is open and up front about everything and will take a deal, regardless of how ugly it is.

I visited this dealer for the first time a few months ago before it became lake Chevrolet I was very impressed with the ambiance of this dealer from the showroom, waiting area to the bathroom A plus; I can tell that the previous owners had exquisite taste! I brought my car in at that time for a routine maintenance of the throttle body a common maintenance need for the 5th generation Chevy Camaro! The service advisor was professional that go round which led me back for a second time! I visited this dealer just shy of two months ago because I had problems with my car starting the day before, so after getting the battery charged, and adding a bit of water the car started, and hasn't had any issues since! but the engine light poped on during all this, and it was to late to take it to the dealer so I made an appt for the next day! meanwhile I went to the auto parts store to have them put the machine on it to see what codes may be causing the engine light to come on. The codes that came up were ignition control modular and A injector! so I brought it in to now lake Chevrolet to my same adviser because I builded a repore from the previous time before! he looked at my battery and saw some rust buildup on it, I then explained to him about what the report was saying from the auto parts store; so he put the machine on it, and said that those codes popped up but said history meaning they were no longer. then I explained this shuddering feeling while driving, and accelerating at low, and higher speeds! so he took it for a test drive with me and said it seems to be coming from the transmission but wasn't sure! so I explained to him That im a single mom, and that my budget was very tight so I have to pick, and choose since you have the expertise which way do you feel I should go? He said the battery is corroded a bit, and I definatly didnt want that problem again but ever since being charged I had no problem; and for him to tell me he thinks it's a transmission problem that's a major issue seeming I only had one vehicle, and my only means of transportaion for my kid, and I! so it took me two hours to decide but since that seem like more of a concern I said ok go ahead with the diagnostic of the transmission! 1hr or so later he comes back with a quote of almost $4,000 dollars saying Its my torque convert! so naturally I'm freaking out because that's a lot of money, and my car is out of warranty now! I asked can it be fixed without replacing the entire transmission? he said no it could metal shaving, a host of other things once its taken apart, it's best to replace the whole thing! so I'm calling around getting different pricing up until two weeks ago a called another Chevrolet dealer and The service advisor asked me to come in so they could check things out because it shouldn't need a transmission already even though that's not uncommon! so I did by the time he came to speak with me he said man I'm glad you brought your car in he said your transmission is fine we saw nothing wrong with your transmission we saw no metal shavings or anything, except that you need a filter replacement because it's pretty bad, and your oil is a bit dirty! so here it is almost three weeks after having the pan drop to replace the filter and transmission oil; I haven't had not one accelerating issue/ shuddering since! I thank God for the the other chevrolet dealer which I wont be so rude to name but I do have my receipt with the proof, they saved me over 3,500 dollars on a service new transmission I didn't need! so it makes me wonder why would this advisor here at lake chey that I came back to, and put my trust in play me the way he did? Did they really even do a transmission diagnosis because if so he should have known that, it also makes me wonder if my throttle body service was even performed or needed!! I feel like I was taken for a ride and played big tme out of my money which has left abed taste in my mouth, and has made me never want to return to this dealer because of that! I'm truly sadly disappointed

the dealership reached out right after the visit for feedback, to which I provided a detailed account of my experience - I have yet to hear back. They keep sending this request for feedback so here goes...while some work was done on my truck I can't say that what I received was 'Service' and it was all warranty stuff.

I was trying to buy a used F-150 from Braeger Ford and was very disappointed with how the deal was handled and ended up going elsewhere. The sales person Zach Slaby was wonderful but management made a poor decision in my opinion. Took a truck on a text drive and found out the rear view mirror as not working properly and sales person said it could be fixed. We verbally agreed on a price. I was about to give them a down payment when they told me the rear view mirror needed replaced to the tune of $1,000 and I would need to pay $600. The vehicle was Ford certified and was supposed to have passed a 172 point or something like that inspection. They said it is certified and the mirror was not broke two weeks ago, and that it must have been damaged in the mean time. I didn't feel it was fair to ask a customer to pay for broken mirror on a certified vehicle. Of course, they told me I was getting the best deal imaginable and couldn't swing getting the mirror fixed as well. I agree that it was a fair price but have seen other trucks very similarly priced. Seems like a bad way to do business.

Not going back. Had to go back 2 times because it wasn't fixed right. Now I see that one of the items isn't working (something I rarely use). It was part of the recall. But they want $130 to diagnose. Nope.

My husband and I bought a 2013 Malibu after months of looking. Braeger was the friendliest place we found. No pressure just honest answers to our questions. They were able to find the car of our dreams in IL and had it brought to Mlwaukee. Tom died a few months later and now I was alone. I got in an accident just before Christmas 2013. I was afraid I was going to be taken advantage of but then remember how good Tom felt about Braeger so I contacted them. They picked the car up from the tow lot and took care of everything. The repairs were extensive & took longer than the 30 days that my insurance allowed for a rental car so Braeger gave me one of their cars. Now I go back for all my service work. I told my friends & family about the good deal and service I received. I told them it was worth the drive to Milwaukee for the peace of mind that I have.

Nice to see a dealership get rid of the old back and forth games. They brought the necessary people togerher and made a normally long and irritation negotiation last about 2 minutes. Streamlined the paperwork. Quick and easy.
Update 4/19
Avoid this place. The service department is incompetent at best, neglectful and lazy at best. Unless there is a computer that says specifically what is wrong or the part is falling off, they cannot fix your Chevrolet.

Unbelievably horrible customer service.

Unbelievably horrible customer service.
We leased a car with them and got leather put in it. We got the car back and found that there were only 2 instead of 3 seat belts in the back seat. The new leather bench seat had been placed on top of one of the seat belts which should have been checked before giving us the car. So me my girlfriend and out 2 girls are on the way to the Dells when we find this out. Not good the fact that they both need seat belts. I called and was promised a call back but never received on. So I called again and left a voice mail with a sales manager, STILL haven't recieved a call back til this day. Not even from the sales man to see how things are going! I'll never do business with these guys again!!

On 03/08/2019 my husband contacted me at work stating that the Dodge Avenger was on its last limb, he had just finished pushing the car home 2 miles, and that I had two choices. A.) He was going to take the Dodge, and burn it in the field, or B.) We took the vehicle, and traded it in. We initially were looking at a Hyundai SUV at the Hyundai Dealership in Greenfield, however, long story short I ended up not liking the SUV, and they had a F150 on their lot that my husband liked. They attempted to push the vehicle on us, and told us we would not get a better deal than what they were offering. We left, and ended up at Braeger Ford where they have a slightly older F150(2016 so pretty much brand new). We explained our situation, and the budget that we were working with. We spent 4 1/2 hours trying to make the truck work for our budget. They made the vehicle fit our budget, and we have a beautiful truck because of it. The Sales team that worked with us were so patient, kind, and very understanding of our situation. They will have customers for life, because of how they treated us, and made sure that we felt completely comfortable. I really could go on about how amazing they all were to us, but I don't think I will live that long. Thank you So Much to the Pre-Owned Sales team for everything they did, and will hopefully do in the future.

I went for an oil change and tire rotation. This time it was only 30 minutes instead of 1 hour and 45 minutes. However, I thought for the first year of my vehicle I got free maintence and I ended up paying. Also, when I got home, my husband noticed grease hand prints on the hood and front bumper.

Now our second car buying from Scott and both experiences have been great. Scott works hard to find the right car for you and the dealership, having both Ford and Chevy in same area, was perfect for us. In both instances we found a few small dings and scratches on the cars we have purchased and the body shop did great work to make the vehicle feel like new!

I was disappointed that every coupon that I received would not work for what I was having done. Even the Oil Change coupon did not qualify, even though I was getting $800 worth of tires. The Service Adviser did not tell me anything about what was going on with my vehicle after the work was done - like were the brakes ok, which I had asked her about when I came in, was there anything else that they seen that may need to be fixed, did they fill my fluids?? These are things that I received every time I had my oil changed at other dealerships.
Just got the feeling that the service department could have cared less if I was there to get my car serviced or not.
I will not be back - I will go back to the dealership that I had been using.

Lied to me about the pricing on my car after I confirmed the price a couple times with the guy over email. I showed up and he said there was a 'mistake' and the pricing was actually $2,000 more than he stated in the email. Didn't bother to you're me prior to me driving an hour to get there. Well unfortunately I ended up buying the car... And they lied about actually registering the vehicle!!! Have me a fake registration, and 2019 license plate stickers! If I had gotten pulled over and my plates run I'd be in big trouble! Don't trust these guys! Sketchy

This was my first time going here for service and I must say that it was a absolute pleasure getting the customer service I needed from the associates. Mr.Turner was amazing and took good care of me and made sure I got home safely. I had an appointment with CarMax which is where I got my car from and that appointment was not until the 29th of July and that's almost 2 weeks away and my check engine light was on but Braeger Chevrolet got me in and out today with no hassle with a ride home and a ride to pick my car back up. Thank you guys so much

I purchased a used vehicle on 2-27-19 for $20k. It became a nightmare the minute I signed a purchase agreement. It started with the finance manager, Matthew Manager. He asked me for my "loan details" (from an outside bank) and got offended when I asked why that was necessary. He then, very aggressively and with total disrespect to me, said "because you just signed that paper agreeing to buy this vehicle" and "I have done this before and it has never been a problem". He then left the room after his attempt to bully me without fully explaining what was even needed. By the way, I also have done this before. Furthermore, my bank told me all they need is this one piece of paper and we handle the rest. From that moment on, it only got worse. I was rushed to sign a stack of papers with little to no explanation. Was then told I couldn t get the vehicle until the next day once the funds were transferred and told I could not have a copy of the paperwork until then (even though I signed them). 2-28-19, no communication from them on picking up the vehicle. 2-29-19 I get a call from my bank saying they never sent the paperwork. I didn t receive a response from the dealership after informing them until midnight. MIDNIGHT, via text! 3-1-19 I get a call from the bank saying they faxed paperwork (timestamped transmit of 3-1-19 @ 12:59 PM) with missing pages, but if they received everything before 3 PM, funds can be sent same day. I reach out to dealership through email, phone calls, and text to salesman & managers with zero response from anyone. 3-2-19 still no car and missing work daily. All they cared about was making that sale. Once they hooked me, I was no longer important. My need for a vehicle was ignored by multiple people and that is a fundamental problem with a car dealership and it's leadership team. I will never return to the Braeger group for that reason.

I bought a used car from here and 4 months later I...

I bought a used car from here and 4 months later I had to take it in to the Honda dealership before my engine seized. I understand used cars come with more baggage and I'd have a higher chance of having to fix a couple things a lot sooner than a new car. However, I find out that my alignment is horribly off, all my fluids are garbage, there is play in a control arm, the battery is almost done for, the radiator has been leaking, and the reason I went it is because my check engine light was blinking and the car was chugging long because when Braeger did their apparently half-assed inspection, they left every spark plug loose. Spark plugs do not just wiggle themselves loose. I have never heard of that in my life.

So I decided to take action as I do not like getting screwed, like any other human. Instead of acting compassionate towards me and understanding that all of this means that they legally did not hold up their end of the deal, the manager just told me to go pay to get it fixed at one of their dealerships. The point is that I shouldn't have to worry about the wheel alignment, spark plugs battery or fluids. The other things are on me. But legally they're supposed to get those things into working order before selling a car and don't feel like being considerate of my position. I have emailed yet again and it's been weeks with no response.

Clearly, Braeger cares only about taking your money and not at all about keeping a good rep with the people who spent THOUSANDS of dollars with them. I will not ever go back to a Braeger dealership. I'd prefer any place that cares about their customers.

Comments on my experience at Braeger Chevrolet and leasing the 2019 Trax:

If you are looking to buy or lease a new vehicle, check out Braeger Chevrolet.

My lease was maturing in a few months and I had to decide what I would lease next; and, could I afford the newer vehicles. I had been referred to Willy Burazin, whom I was told would give me a hassle free and memorable experience. I can only describe the care and service as excellence itself.

Willy made me feel very comfortable and was extremely transparent and informative relative to the Chevy Trax. He was welcoming and I felt like I was part of an extended family.

I came in on a Tuesday and test drove the Trax. Willy gathered information for the finance people. Then he introduced me to James Ruis, a Finance Manager who would be working with me on the lease. Jamie wanted to ask if I had any questions or concerns about the leasing process. An appointment was scheduled for Wednesday; and, off I went with the 2019 Chevy Trax LT. I was amazed at how efficient and transparent the entire process was.

Willy is amazing and Jamie is the best too!

It has been a true pleasure working with Brandon. He has been kind curteous. And extremely helpful to my wife and myself. I swore that I would never comeback to Braeger again. But Brandon was able to convince me by phone to give it a try. It was something he said and his calming affect that made me feel at ease. But willing to come in again and see if it would work out. He wasn't pushy was very straight forward. Was actually more like a friend then a sales guy. That to me goes a long way. Their needs to be more people like Brandon In sales, pushy does nothing for me that's for sure. If anything it's a total turn off. Thank you Brandon for being that friendly person first and for most. And not that pushy sales person we have become accustom to working with these days!!!!
