I never thought I d ever say a colonoscopy was a terrific experience .. but it actually was. Everything was extremely well organized. The care was first class. I was in and out within 2.5 hrs. Felt totally safe and appreciated all the extra steps of precaution they took due to COVID.

Welcoming atmosphere to put you at ease. They are very efficient in a good way. Follow up on the exam excellent both the day of the procedure and notification of lab results. Sure beats going into the hospital setting for an endoscopy.

I was initially given a prescription for an expensive prep but I called and was told to get an over-the-counter option. Procedure went easily and smoothly. Everyone was great at introducing themselves and explaining their role. All went as planned. I had some polyps removed and still have not received results 3 weeks later.

We'll run, friendly staff. Best to try and get an early appointment, I had the last appointment and they were running about an hour behind. No big deal, next time I will try for an early appointment. Great experience overall.

It's a small intimate facility with extremely friendly staff and quick procedures. As someone who has spent far far too much time in hospitals, this place is a relief. I wish I could have all my procedures here.

Dr. ran 1:45 min late. No apology. When you have been prepping and up all night, that is really annoying. Other than that the place is run like an assembly line. Dozens of people there in the waiting room. Beds lined up in a room separated by curtains. Very uninviting. Other than that, the procedure was fine, and the nurses and anesthesiologist were kind and skilled.

Hi, Boston Endoscopy Team. It has been a few weeks since I visited for an endoscopy with Dr. Falchuk. Over the years, I have been to your facility many times. I just wanted to reach out and let you know what an exceptional job you all did pre, during and post procedure. I know it has been challenging with the "new" norm protocol, however, you aced it, moving right along, not missing a beat.

It truly shows that you all embrace and put your patients and their comfort (physical and emotional) first and foremost by way of professionalism, kindness in bedside manner, wonderful personalities and warmth of heart; TLC through and through. To coin a phrase - "You've got it going on."

It was important to me to let you know that I sincerely appreciate everyone that participated in my care. It meant/means lots. With kind regards; stay well.

Most people dislike colonoscopys but the Boston Endoscopy Center makes this procedure comfortable and efficient. The staff are warm and welcoming and the center is small enough to be very personal. This was my second experience at the BEC and I highly recommend the Center!

WARNING: You and your ride cannot use the bathroom due to Covid but they recommend a gas station down the street!!
The business side of this facility is poorly run and does a disservice to the medical team. Waiting in the snow at the locked front door is a paper sign to check in by phone (they do not tell you ahead of time). I confirmed my phone number. After 50 minutes I called again to be sure they did not forget I checked in. They said they called me 3 times and my voicemail was full, not true they called the wrong number. Frustrating as they knew I was there and I was asked when I got inside if I got lost !! I brought the hard copy of Covid results as requested (out of network testing) and the nurse (who failed to introduce herself and title) looked down her nose and said they didn t need it. Once inside while I was changing she was asking me history questions thru the curtain! I three times told staff the name/number of my ride changed. I crossed out the wrong name on the forms, they still called the wrong person. Despite logging in and completing my medical history, anesthesia still had to complete a paper form. All that being said the medical staff (nurse in the room, nurse anesthetist, anesthesiologist) were proficient, friendly and professional.

This place is horrible. I just got a bill from them from 8 months ago and it s due right now. I hate greedy corporations like this one that only cares about getting paid while waiting months to bill me correctly. Even during CV19 this place doesn t care if you pay your other bills, just them. Bad company.

Regular colonoscopy appointment was terrible. It s...

Regular colonoscopy appointment was terrible. It started with a curt receptionist, then proceeded to a nurse who did not want to listen to me about which of my veins can be used for IV line. My right vein was poked to the extend of causing very bad pain, I was loudly screaming from pain. And, later, as I was suggesting all along, my left arm was used... I woke up during the procedure to hear a conversation in the room about someone's experience traveling in the first class on a plane. No apologies were offered - patient is not a person, right? Anesthesiologist just hurriedly injected more once he saw my wide open eyes. The doctor did not stop by to discuss results. After the procedure, I was hurried out of the small curtain separated space as fast as possible. And now I received 5! separate bills to pay, while having a good coverage: separate for colonoscopy, separate for surgery (read tiny 2mm polyp removal), separate for lab services to prep the tissue, separate for pathologist to read it, separate for anesthesia... No mention of what to expect has ever occurred before or after the procedure. Be VERY CAREFUL before choosing this place!!! I have to add that about 5 years ago I was treated in the same place with very different impression (other than the same curtain-separated facility). Something has gone terribly wrong.

Teresa at the Boston Endoscopy Center went above a...

Teresa at the Boston Endoscopy Center went above and beyond for us last week. My husband had a scheduled colonoscopy which, it turned out, could not be completed due to complications caused by a whipple procedure he had had three years ago. His doctor recommended he undergo a virtual colonoscopy, which involves having a CT scan with contrast dye to complete his exam and tried to schedule him for the same day to avoid having him go through another bowel prep. Though she tried to get him an appointment at the hospital to which she had admitting privileges they were totally booked plus it was a Friday before a long weekend so she could not get an appointment on the weekend either. Unfortunately, she concluded that he would have to repeat the bowel cleaning procedure sometime in the near future. Since my husband had his whipple procedure, food goes through him very quickly and he needs to eat a fair amount in order to even maintain the same weight. During this most recent prep, he was on a liquid diet for two days so lost at least 7 pounds and we didn t like the idea of his repeating the prep and losing more weight. We tried calling his primary care physician to see if we could schedule this procedure at another hospital for today, but to no avail. The doctor was gone and there was nothing the administrative assistant could do. That is when Teresa approached us and inquired whether she could help. She made numerous phone calls and was able to successfully book an appointment at another hospital for early the following morning. Her level of persistence, compassion and caring was outstanding. The rest of the staff was also very nice and took the time to answer our questions and make us comfortable. Our experience at the Boston Endoscopy Center was very positive. If it wasn t for Teresa s persistence, we don t think we could have successfully booked my husband s appointment. We would definitely recommend this place for its level of caring and professionalism

My experience was positive. The staff were great and very caring and procedure went smoothly. The only negative thing was I had to wait quite a while in my car before they took me. My procedure was supposed to be at 10:30 so would take me in at 10:00 but when I got there they said they were half hour behind due to a problem with the alarm/ lock that morning but I wasn t taken in side until 11:30. Besides that I was very pleased with everything else and would recommend them.

Honestly, the visit could not have gone better. I felt very safe, the staff was extremely friendly, and the procedure itself was, as one would hope, a complete blank. Recovery was quick, and I was out the door less than 90 minutes after I walked in. The worst part was the prep before, and that s unavoidable. I will use the Center every time going forward and recommend them highly.

I had a very good experience at Boston Endoscopy Center. What impressed me the most was how organized it all was. I was given clear instructions through the entire process. The staff didn't seem rushed, they didn't ask the same questions over again, and I was treated like a unique patient. I imagine they go through this routine many times a day but I felt like they understood it was new to me. It was not hectic. Dr. Lee takes the time to consult with each patient and answer any questions. The Anesthesiologists explained what to expect and was very personable. My appointment was on time and it was quickly over!

Went just as I had expected, the staff were friendly and helpful and answered all my questions. I ve had these types of screenings at a hospital before, so was a little unsure of using a center outside of a hospital... no concerns anymore and will come back to Boston endoscopy when it s that time again.

My second procedure at this fine facility and albeit with COVID protocols in place, an equally positive experience! Facility is clean, technicians and doctors are upbeat and engaging while delivering their professional duties. Was able to resume daily activities at home after a nice nap!

While the procedure itself went very well, the administrative lead up to it was horrible. Practice requires a Covid test within 48 hours prior to procedure which is fine, but they dictate where it must occur. Apparently practice has some relationship with AFC urgent care and won t allow patients to go anywhere else. The closet AFC location to me was 45 minutes away, so very inconvenient. I was told I must use AFC because they will be sure to get results to practice. It took more than six calls to AFC to get an appointment which was incredibly frustrating. I finally get test and ask person administering it to make sure to get results to practice before next day s procedure. AFC person assured me it will be done. When AFC calls me two hours later with results I again ask to make sure results are sent to practice and am now told that AFC does not do that and it is my responsibility.

As a result, I fax results to practice. The reward for my diligence is two calls from practice after I fax in results saying I need to email results. Incredibly frustrating to say the least. And of course the mandated vendor, AFC, incorrectly bills insurance so I have to resolve that mess.

Hopefully this will not be an issue in 3 years when I have my next procedure, but if it is I ll look elsewhere.

Overall, great experience for my first colonoscopy. The prep was well explained, the staff and doctor were available for questions and the execution of the procedure was very well managed. The staff at BEC did a great job of explaining the procedure process and the wait time was minimal. Liked that the doctor stopped by after the procedure to provide an update. Would return for next procedure.

Preparing for the colonoscopy is awful and nothing of the process is easy. But the staff, and team of nurses and doctors at BEC made me forget the ordeal I went through the night before. Professional, caring, and committed, they all were the best one could hope and wish for to perform this procedure.
I highly recommend BEC to anyone who is looking for a pleasant experience and an excellent treatment.
Thank you BEC for taking care of me in my weak hours.

Had early morning appt, and waited quite a while to get in. The medical staff was professional & friendly, procedure went well.

However, the front desk workers were busy chatting rather than concerned w/ customer service. The woman copied my insurance info wrong. Discovered her error a week later with much confusion, resulting in numerous phone calls to straighten it out. As well, front desk totally unhelpful with explaining billing for procedure as it appeared I was charged double for various medical personnel. I was bounced back & forth between this facility & Dedham Medical w/ no help or answers in straightening out the bill. Will not return there.

Ok - so getting an endoscopy is never enjoyable. Boston Endoscopy made it (almost) pleasant for me. From the time I walked in until I left I felt like I was the most important person in the building. Everyone was caring and careful. I will be going back next year.

Dr. Cheney MD, needs to learn how to treat her patients with better respect! I ve never had a doctor in my entire life ever, treat me as rudely and disrespectful as she has. At the colonoscopy and at the follow up appointment the next week. I will never see her again. I hope this message gets back to her supervisors, head of her department, and to the head of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. I think she needs to be talked to about ethics and disciplinary action.

Boston Endoscopy is the best place to go for colonoscopies. It is a privately owned facility that treats you well and completes the procedure with no discomfort and immediate results. The nursing staff, anesthesiologist and all support personnel are patient-oriented. Dr. Ken Falchuk is the best in the business.

To me, the nurses are everything. They can make or break your experience. In the case of Boston Endoscopy, the nurses were top notch. From the reception, to the prep, to the operating room, they were all caring, kind, patient, and professional. I m due back in 2 years. Boston Endoscopy will be my choice again.

I been to this facility 3 times since being with Beth Israel. This was the worst . The front of house was great they had me all prepped and ready well before the scheduled time. I was scheduled for an 11:30am procedure. I entered the procedure room at 1:10 PM The doctor came in at 1:20pm, we had a few quick word while I sign the consent form . THEN the doctor begins the procedure....I had not been given the sedative and was still awake !!! Apparently they were very efficient, as I was in the recovery cubicle at 2;00PM
When going to bed , I found the 3 sticky sensors stuck to me. They were efficient ! NEXT!!!
