This was our first visit to Bonobo winery and it was so worth it. Chris did our wine tasting and he was knowledgeable, gave excellent recommendations and was all around charming! We ordered crab cakes and Mac and cheese and it was to die for!! We will be back for the great service and food/wine.

Bonobo is a fun winery that offers it all! View, epic selection of local varietals and Snacks for weary traveler. Soak in the view from the patio after sucking back some of the best juice in Northern Michigan. Harvest is an awesome time on the Peninsula and Bonobo does it right. Would encourage anyone to stop by while visiting. This many people can't be wrong. If you are lucky, the Oosterhouse family will be working and will great you with warmest smiles. They are a great local Michigan family and can tell you all about Traverse City "back in the day."

The grounds and tasting area are superb. Wine tasting for many in our private tour group was very disappointing. We were not allowed a selection of tastings. This was difficult as 3 of the 5 preselected wines were Chardonnay and many in the group do not care for this type of wine. The hostess was not overly friendly either. We all wished we would have chosen a different Vineyard given the fact this was the most costly of the bus tour. Not one bottle of wine was purchased by the 14 people in our tour. We had great expectations given the celebrity status of this locale . It simply did not live up to the hype.

Favorite decor of all the winery's on old mission peninsula. Don't know about the wine, not my thing, but have Strongbrew cold brew so perfect for driving the wifey around all day! And great hot appetizers.

Our bridal party made reservations for the premier...

Our bridal party made reservations for the premier tasting with a view months in advance. As we arrived 20 minutes early it was immediately noticed that the workers were unfriendly, and instead of getting the area we made reservations for, we were walked to the common bar area with a "supervisor" named Coleman. We spoke up about this mistake but they tried to lie and say this was the area, then they told us another group was in the premier tasting area we reserved. So, not only did we not get the premier area, but Coleman rushed us and made it obvious he was uninterested. After this we ordered food only to have our order messed up, and a female worker did not bring us any plates or silverwear. We had to track them down and the female worker was not nice about the mistake, however the chef ended up being very kind when we spoke to her. After this, Coleman must have realized how dickish he was and had to cover his butt, so he gave us "VIP" wine glasses to go. After we left we opened these up to discover they were just plastic dollar store cups, not even engraved like all of the other wineries.. honestly.. what a joke. To sum it up: we made reservations months in advance and expected to pay a good amount for a professional wine tasting with a view, but Bonobo Winery in no way whatsoever carried out their end of the deal, and we all left disappointed. 1/5 stars because at least the chef was nice.

Best Winery on the Peninsula. The staff is very knowledgable and one cannot beat the views from the deck. The food and wine pairings are very well thought out. The group I was with got to meet Todd Oosterhouse (general manager) and he was kind enough to give us a tour of the facilities, along with some tastings of future wines right from wine barrels aging in the cellar. Could not have asked for a better experience. Thanks Bonobo!

We visited the winery on our vacation and really enjoyed the wine and scenery. We had small plates (crab cakes) and they were fantastic. The people are friendly and very helpful. They were nice enough to mail me my jacket that I left behind. Strongly recommend a visit. We will be back!

Beautiful tasting room. Atmosphere relaxing and love outdoor space. Food is delicious. Most servers are kind, patient and knowledgeable. However, on more than one occasion in the last week we have experienced an unwelcoming and unfriendly server. This was also an experience another close friend had this summer and they left without tasting. It s too bad as on the whole we love it there and love your later hours. When we walk in and see this server we do what we can to avoid her.

We just left the place because of the customer service. The lady who helped us seemed to be in a bad mood. She ignored my husband when he asked for assistance. End of the story, we just left and we are going to another winery with better customer service.

Bonobo Winery is the bee's knees! The service was exemplary, the wine first rate, and the food paired perfectly. The improvements from two years ago were pleasantly noticeable and we think this is our new favorite winery.

Modern tasting room with comfortable lounge areas & beautiful outdoor patio. No sweet wines here! If you're looking for some dry reds, I recommend the pinot & the cab franc. I very much enjoyed the style of their wines!

Made the mistake of stopping on a rainly fall Saturday afternoon. Looks like a nice place but people were standing in a very long line to get to the tasting bar. Way over-crowded. We left a few minutes after arriving.

I was disappointed that they didn t have tastings or flights. I imagined it was because of COVID but I m not sure. No one explained much.
However, the wine was really good and the vineyard has a nice interior design and architecture. I will come back to try again.

Was our favorite winery during our trip to Suttons Bay. The wines were amazing and the tasting room was beautiful. And they stay open to 8pm which is a plus as all others close at 5pm. Plus we caught this beautiful sunset from the deck.

I give it a two because the winery and views were gorgeous. The staff however was unfriendly and not welcoming. They seemed bothered and annoyed when you asked them questions. That s why I rated it a two. Very disappointing.

Expected more. I imagine that we'll have a better experience if we return.

Wife and I went wine tasting for the day with another couple. We visited ten vineyards total during our weekend stay in the area. We are amateur wine tasters in every sense.

THE GOOD:
Good views from the outdoor deck - picturesque. Good, clean bathroom options.

THE BAD:
Average wine. They only allowed us to do wine by the glass when we were there (this might have been due to COVID-19), but other places allowed us to do flights and tastings. The outdoor fire-pit was not running, and it was a little chilly. Would have been nice to have going.

The building was beautiful and had a very classy feel. However the service was subpar given the amount of staff working. Their selection was very small- 8 wines to choose from in total. There are many great wineries in this area- not my favorite.

Visited Bonobo and very impressed with their safety procedures for COVID. Spaced out seating, indoor and outdoor space, masks required, and purchased wine by the glass with their staff behind a plexiglass window. I really enjoyed their alcoholic slushee with the donut roll. Another bonus is the fact that Bonobo is open later than the other vineyards nearby.
