It's more of a place to go when there is no other place to go. Not very friendly, food is not that great (not bad, but not great), large jackpot payouts seem to never occur, and they are schiesty with their cocktail service.

This place is so good, but when you enter the casino, the cigarette smoke is absolutely devastating to a non smoker. But when you get to the restaurant. The food is excellent. I had a pulled pork sandwich that was the best i have ever eaten. I recommend every one try this sandwich
The staff is really nice and the people that go there are friendly. I like the fact that with drawings, tornemants, and free play it give you a chance to play longer and win money for free. They have so many events and celibrations you always have a good time. It nice to have a fun and safe place to have fun and enjoy a night out. Thank you Bonanza people for giving people something to look forward to after a long week of work.
Signed up for a card and had a $10 free coupon. Was losing at first and then hit jackpot. I only gambled because family in town visiting. Place was clean & didn't smell like cigarettes, since I'm a none smoker. I had fun!
Nice cozy casino. It didn't take much for me to rack up enough points to get a free t-shirt. Affordable Black Jack machine with Virtual dealer as well.
Great staff (Cindy Lou) and classic breakfast, and you can eat lunch for breakfast if you desire...or breakfast for breakfast. The Kung Pao Chicken ranks in my top 5 ever for that dish and I am comparing it to Mr Chow in Las Vegas and Chef Chu in Los Altos CA, the later responsible for several White House State Dinners. This item had so much flavor without extreme heat that I was shocked I was not in a world class Chinese Restaurant but rather the building where the First Muppets Movie was filmed and basically a cafe with a small weekend buffet. The Orange Chicken also deserves a look as it is wonderful. Bravo!!!
Looks like they're remodeling while closed down. I know the restaurant specials are to draw people in to play slots, but families enjoy them too. One thing is we wish a little less of that stale casino smoke made it into the restaurant. Maybe post-COVID they will be more concerned about air quality and put up some plexiglass barriers or walls.
Here's hoping Bonanza bounces back soon. Maybe the restaurant will be newly refreshed, staff a little more organized. The food is good and the value great but sometimes they couldn't handle the crowds on specials nights. This will all change now, I'm sure. If they reduce capacity things might improve all around, except the wait to get inside.
The older gentleman who carves at the buffet is such a sweetheart; my son was upset the soft serve machine wasn't working one night, and he went all the way across the restaurant to get him two scoops of ice cream. Another time he brought out flan even though they didn't have any set out that night, and gave my kid the biggest slice of cake he'd ever seen. The red-haired lady server with glasses is nice too. We miss the affordable family dinners.
Bartender was rude on not paying attention when we wanted a drink. The security there was rude and hovering over guests. Saw a man passed out at a machine that security passed by 3 times. Not safe and rudely staffed. Only reason for 2 star was that I won $20
Went to the car show put on today by the Bonanza and it was well spent time. The staff from the time I arrived at 2:47 this morning to the time I left was a smooth and happy time for my friends and I. The staff from the parking lot cleaning crew, security, the setup personal and the rest of the personal that I had contact with made this day one that I will remember for many years to come. Thank you one and all. I am proud to say that I was at the Bonanza today.
It's a smaller casino which makes it nice for people that don't like the great big ones. Its clean, they have good food and two bars. Not a lot of beggers hang out there like down town and at the Nugget.
Used to love this place but with the rude employees especially in the restruant i have to say that my money will be spent some where else after today!!!!
I ordered the chicken and it was bland and ordered the enchiladas it was bad too need a new chief. Food is awfully bad the only thing that is good is breakfast
Used to be pretty cool, good food in the cafe.... Now you don't even get 2 pieces of toast with the late night special... One piece of BREAD is not the same.
My daughter & I come to Reno twice a year , & we always have to spend some time at the Bonanza , they keep some of the older machines that are our favorites , & their table games minimum is lower than most other casinos.
We only live two miles from here. We show up about every three weeks or so to kill a few hours. We usually don t win, but we are realistic. We normally sit at the center bar. Well, for months now I have to search out someone to bring us a drink every time we are here. Today was the last straw! We were there for about 45 minutes and asked three people to have someone come over and bring us some drinks. No one came by. There are plenty of casinos in this town and yours is now off our list.
Cool country themed smaller casino with a surprising number of modern gaming machines! I didn't get to try the Steakhouse restaurant, next time! It has been voted best in Nevada by Nevada Magazine for the last 9 years in a row!
