Blackhawk Country Club Reviews

We are very happy with our decision to have our wedding at Blackhawk Country Club in August 2020. Blackhawk worked with us as we changed our wedding from 150 people to a 25 person gathering due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions. We had a good experience with all the staff there. Kelly especially went above and beyond and did a great job dealing with all the COVID related changes and was great as a coordinator day of. We loved the view of Lake Mendota and the appetizers. When comparing other venues in Madison we found Blackhawk to be a great value for the price.

It's a beautiful golf course and is a perfect sized golf coarse

One of the nicest, well maintained and scenic courses i have played in recent memory. All female college golf team staff was a nice touch because of thier professional, helpful and friendly demeanor. Very nice to look at as well. Practice facility is one I would love to have at my home club.

Watch out for bartender. Struggles giving correct change back.

Food was excellent, but they water down their liquor

The course is in magnificent shape, and the greens were running fast and true. My group had a wonderful time.

We are so happy we decided to have our wedding reception at Blackhawk! We were married on June 9, 2018. We loved working with Bailey and her staff. It was easy to communicate with them and share our ideas and visions. The food is absolutely outstanding! We received so many compliments on the quality, and quantity, of our food. Our guests especially loved the cupcakes! The view from Blackhawk is phenomenal; Lake Mendota provides a gorgeous backdrop for a wedding reception. If you are even thinking about having your wedding and/or reception at Blackhawk I highly recommend you at least take a tour! You will find that Blackhawk is a beautiful setting with affordable pricing and a world class staff. We can't recommend it enough!

As a new resident of the Village of Shorewood Hills, I wanted to check out the facility. Very friendly staff, the Friday night fish fry was outstanding and found the general feel comfortable.

Went here for fireworks, had great seating and good time viewing.

The golf club s view of Mendota Lake and the entire golf course at the high point is superb and fascinating, like it!

Have had exceptional golf experiences at this club in a variety of charitable events that are hosted there.

After that I decided to join. There is not another course that has as immaculate care to the fairways and the greens as this place has consistently shown.

The chef is a delight as he comes out and personally greets guests and members.

After experiencing the course , the bar area for dining and quick lunches, and the fun characters in the pro shop ( including the head pro who is an exceptionally gifted teacher), I decided to join.

For the novice, the middle handicapper, and the truly gifted who play this game, this is the place to belong.

Note: there are no swimming pools, no tennis courts, just a well run golf club.

You'd be wise to check it out if interested in a first class operation.

Oh yeah, the views on the patio overlooking the course and lake Mendota had a flavor to being a part of something special.

My connections and relationships built in my short time as a member will last a lifetime.

Good food and drinks with amazing view of the guild course and lake. Beautiful place for events!

We went to the fireworks at this country club from late afternoon until 10 p.m. or so. They put on a wonderful set of fireworks with people camping out on the grass with blankets. They also provided food trucks this year in addition to the ice cream vendor. There were also porta potties available. A good time was had by all!

Only had wine as guest, but another guest friend and member had to leave twice to get service

Staff is rude. Manager Dylan will go out of his way to make you uncomfortable.

Staff was very attentive to our special needs (husband is in a wheelchair) All the stations set up with food (both hot and cold) were well maintained for food safety, plates etc. We will keep this location in mind if we need a space to gather. Just beautiful!
