Spent a good chunk of money for a blah meal. I liked the atmosphere and the service and the music so will try again. It's just hard to know what to order when the "signature" dish is totally blah.

I enjoyed a nice meal out on the deck. The menu contained a creative variety of options that I wanted to try, and the servers were absolutely wonderful in terms of being friendly and attentive. I am looking forward to swinging by here again the next time I am passing through town.

Food was delicious, had pastrami sandwich with fries. I forgot to take any pictures but the presentation of the dishes were done well. We sat out on the deck as it was a beautiful day. The furniture is rod iron but they provided cushions for each chair so it was not uncomfortable.

They had some great sounding specials, the cooks definitely seem inspired. Our appetizer was delicious, sandwiches not so much. My pastrami was tough and my wifes chicken bland. I'd give it another try for a full on entree. Staff was great and ambiance above average.

We had my son's wedding rehearsal dinner there for 40 people. They were very helpful, responsive and very attentive. They returned phone calls and emails promptly. They were very friendly and helpful with the set up and service. The food was amazing! Everything from the goat cheese appetizer to the prime rib and seasonal vegetables were just delicious. Evan was very pleasant to work with as this was my first rehearsal dinner to plan. I would highly recommend!

1st visit was for an informal dinner, but we were surprised by the quality of food & service. Steaks, sea food & drinks were perfect. We enjoyed the experience so much we decided to have our wedding anniversary dinner there. We dressed up a little more than the night before & we were seated in a quieter location. The food and drinks did not disappoint again. When in Salem we will eat here again.

Was invited to a surprise birthday party here. To my surprise, they have a function room downstairs complete with a full bar and bathrooms. I had only been upstairs for meals before. Always had a wonderful lunch or dinner. Nice porch to sit out on in the summer. Food was very good. Dining area is broken up into smaller rooms so has a cozy feel to it.

Nice place slightly off the beaten path in an former house. Active bar seating or intement romantic dining, you pick your path for the night. Well rounded menu of American Comfort food to gormet fine dining plates are available.

I liked this place before the pandemic (2020) it was always a great choice for dining out. The selection, food and service are all very good here. One thing to note this place did a great job pivoting to takeout and putting together large party orders to go and the food travels well. Everone is going to say the BWG chicken crunch and they are awesome but don't overlook the Asian lettuce wraps. I usually do an entree here and this place makes up a mean steak, but if you are in a sandwich mood there's some good selection but the smoke brisket is fantastic.

We decided to visit Salem for part of our vacation so we could stop at Canobie Lake Park. The most we had for dinner ideas was ordering pizza ...until we decided to use google maps to find a local restraunt. That's when we stumbled across this amazing place. We ordered the Calamari for an appetizer ( for $9 they literally give you a HUGE portion filled to the top in a bowl!) The staff and especially our waitress were very welcoming and made the experience even better. Our experience at the Black Water Grill was wonderful and would recommend this restraunt to any one visiting the area!

An island popping up in a quarantine sea. I called on a whim to see if they had any specials for St Patty's day, and they luck of the Irish held out with one of their last two specials. So tasty and filling. Definitely returning.

On the way to screamfest about 5 pm on a Saturday night my husband googled for somewhere to eat close to CANOBIE. Black Water Grille came up. We had a total of six and upon arrival the hostess asked if we had a reservation. We did not but she accommodated us with seating. Honestly, it was not busy and we had been confused why we would need a reservation. We ordered four appetizers calamari, nachos, crunchy fingers and Asian lettuce wraps. Also six meals all was absolutely delicious and the portions huge. Now at this point the restaurant was completely full and my husband said I understand why a reservation is required. Our waitress Katie was awesome and the staff was so friendly. It is Very clean and the pricing is great. I highly recommend and can t wait to go back.

Gave this a try. Sat outside, which was ok except for a very large party. Food was nothing special or particularly tasty. Service was not great. Brought the wrong food to the table. Waitress brought my drink almost at the end of the meal. Had to wait ten minutes before she picked up the check to run my card. Probably won't go back.

Great food, great variety and great prices. Everything was delicious and so beautifully prepared. There was something for everyone in our family and everyone loved what they ordered. What a great find for weary travelers!!

The food at the grill speaks for itself. Besides the dinner menu, you can order a sandwich right up until 5 pm which is great. Their $10.00 sandwiches are fantastic and will fill even the heartiest of appetites. Of course, without excellent service, no restaurant would deserve a 5 star review. No worries at the black water grill. EVIDENTLY THEY ARE NO LONGER OPEN FOR LUNCH. MY OFFICE TRIED TO PLACE AN ORDER ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, AT 12:30. THERE WAS NO ANSWER. THE PHONE JUST KEPT RINGING. WE STILL LOVE THIS PLACE, BUT BRING BACK THE LUNCHES.
