Most of the instructors were very good, a few were great.

Absolutely amazing college! It's amazing how much they are willing to help students out. There's scholarships to help pay for tuition, and programs that can even help you out with book/laptop expenses. They even have therapy sessions for anyone who's stressed and may just need to vent! Black Hawk is amazing and I'd recommend it to anyone who's trying to get a fresh start and looking to get ahead in life

Advisors are hit or miss. Once I found a good one, I made it a point to always ask for her.
Most of the professors I've had are good, although some are rather quirky (to be expected, I guess.) The terrible downfall for this college is some of the financial aid staff and registrar staff. They are patronizing, dismissive, not helpful at all, and have an attitude problem.
It's as though Black Hawk doesn't realize that these are the first people that most students are going to come into contact with, and those same people will set the foundation for the student's first and lasting impression. Insert exhausted sigh here.

Nice community college. Fairly standard, but still nice.

Great place to get started. I earned my associates in arts with a business focus here and it was a great experience. It isn't your typical college seen because you've got people of all ages going to school with a lot of different backgrounds.

Wonderful education environment, especially for students who are unsure of their their future occupation. The professers are all willing to help, but you gotta take the extra step to see them after class hours to receive the help needed. The counselors (different from advisors) are amazing and will truly listen to you from an objective point of view!

In the fall of 2014 I signed up for classes to start my future. Following my fafsa being denied I dropped ALL my classes within the same week. Black Hawk West Campus now has sent it to collections which is haunting me 4 years later. I was never contacted by Black Hawk about my debt, that I shouldn t have incurred since I never stepped foot on their campus except to sign up and drop (IN THE SAME WEEK) to now 4 years later find I have a debt in COLLECTIONS due to their lack of communication or care. I ve done what I can to try and figure it out but their Policy doesn t allow them to work with me or it s never the Right person to talk to. If you want to be haunted down the road by something this LESS THAN AMAZING so called college has to offer! Then sign up because you ll be let down!

My daughter and many others have gone here and many of the teachers and the curriculum r setups for failure(nursing program). No wonder we have such a nursing shortage!! Please fix this program! Sad.
